Actually, yeah, @DragonParadox, can we make Oathkeeper widen Richard's mageslaying capability to target all kinds of magic users, not arcane-only*?
*I might be misreading something. I don't see mageslaying being arcane-only on Richard's sheet, but it's on every other source out there?

The best thing about Magebane is that 95%+ of high level Outsiders have SLAs, and at least 90% of them will have at least one Arcane SLA. Most Undead with SLAs are also Arcane, as are Fey who have them, and so on.

It allows Magebane to cover a very wide array of dangerous enemies.

Personally I think that would be fine, given that it was Lya who made those upgrades.
Would this be fine, then?
[] Oathkeeper upgrade.
-[] Enhancement Bonus: Increase to +5 (from +3)
-[] Special Ability: Magebane (stacks with wielder's Magebane, if any)
-[] Special Ability: Enhances the wielder's Magebane ability (if any), making any creatures using Divine spells or spell-like abilities suitable targets.

I think bundling this together with Artemis suggested upgrades would be good?

Not hitting alignment DR or adamantine DR is kind of unfortunate though.

Perhaps make it a +4 as well? Or too much?

Just to root for my own plan a bit more;

The Enhancement bonus going to +5 doesn't just increase damage, but raises Richard's attack bonus by +2, which he really needs. Enemy AC is getting very high now. It also allows Oathkeeper to automatically defeat almost all types of Damage Reduction.

The Magebane Enhancement further raises the Enhancement bonus against anything with Arcane spells or SLAs. That's another +2 Enhancement and +2d6 damage, which will stack with Richard's innate Magebane ability. That means Oathkeeper will be a +9 weapon and do +4d6 damage to those with any kind of Arcane magic. That is more than enough to pierce even Epic DR.

Spell Storing might seem boring, but it gives us a lot of options. All sorts of spells can be used, with the selection varying based on what we expect to fight. There are some really good Touch range spells of 3rd level or less, many of which don't allow saving throws. Shivering Touch, for example.

Honestly, I'm on board with all of these.

I just want Richard to fuck up clerics and Divine Servants as much as he does any arcane spellcaster.
Could you even imagine him meleeing Lucan with all of his mage-slaying capabilities?
Or a divine avatar of "Asshole of the week #13"?

*wistful expression*

Most Outsiders, including those who serve Lucan, are going to have at least one Arcane SLA.

If qms allow it throw in Egoos suggested upgrade as well.

Edit: if it is largely circumstantial no reason to not have it :V

See, here's the crux of the problem for me.
I want to be through in this.
:/
Make it so his legend goes about "ripping apart all magical", or something.
I also don't trust our QMs to not throw something purely Divine at us sooner or later.

It also feels increasingly fluffy for me.
:/

[X] Oathkeeper Upgrade
-[X] Enhancement Bonus: Increase to +5 (from +3)
-[X] Special Ability: Magebane (stacks with wielder's Magebane, if any)
-[X] Special Ability: Enhances the wielder's Magebane ability (if any), making any creatures using Divine spells or spell-like abilities suitable targets.

If you really want it spelled out in the vote that's fine, but DP and Azel both clarified already that since Lya is the one who crafted Oathkeeper, both arcane and divine casters will be threatened.
I'm... just not comprehending what they wrote as a wide statement?
I asked about a particular way to upgrade it, and been loking at it this way since :/
I'll be happy to be proven wrong, mind you.

Mind you, I am voting for you. I'm pretty confident in my assumption, though. Lya wouldn't do any upgrade halfway.
