Huh... you are right that does set an interesting legal conundrum since an company rather than a person holds magical secrets. After all the guild can't exactly swear itself into the Scholarum. You guys are going to have to decide how to solve it.
Minor action or something for the next turn plan?

[] Make a formal decision on the legal status of magical companies, guilds and institutions in the realm, specifically regarding the duty to share arcane knowledge with the scholarium any individual mage has.

Is now the time to work that into our efforts, though? If so, I think we should have Baelor facilitate a meeting between ourselves and the Lantern Bearer leadership, whoever that maybe.
The Lantern Bearers seem to have the least patience with intrigue, so I'm wondering if we should just dispense with using a persona for a discreet meeting with them and show up as Viserys Targaryen. I basically see them as a bunch of less-nature-inclined Vees.

As for the Lantern Bearer's leadership, that would be Baelor.

They're justifiably paranoid, though, so I don't see that working without a trusted intermediary making the introduction. Baelor should serve well for that.

Oh, Baelor should definitely make the introduction, I was never disputing that. We've already got another foot in the door with that one Lantern Bearer we met, so they shouldn't have a bad impression of us.

Plan updated, now with more colors.

  • [X] Contact Baelor Hightower about facilitating a clandestine introduction to the leadership of the Lantern Bearers of Old Town.
-[X] According to Baelor, the Lantern Bearers are poor in magic, at least in part due to Deep One interference. We would like to offer Lantern Bearers training in the magical arts in one or more of our Scholarium branches, free of charge or obligation. What they do is too important for not just Old Town or the Reach, but all of humanity, for them to be hampered by politics and fear.
--[X] In addition, we would offer them enchanted gear and Alchemical substances, free of charge. Although we would need some time before we could deliver much in the way of magic, we can give them ten Healing Belts right now.
---[X] Alchemical substances to be included here when I get back to my computer.
----[X] Offer to assist the Lantern Bearers deal with at least the Deep One plot you know of once and for all, though for obvious reasons our identities would need to remain hidden from those not intimately involved.

I think we should insert Dywen now. Talk with the first few Septons so that he gets speaking rights.
I'm up for that if you have a plan, though the Deep One plot is kinda time sensitive. I think the Lantern Bearers are going to hit them soon, with or without our inout.

[X] Plan Enter Dywen
-[X] Approach Most Devout Kyle in the guise of Dywen, using Cloak of Khyber, Mythic Power and every buff in the book to sell the ruse.
-[X] Tell him that you approached him for his more liberal views and wanted to see if you could make common cause. You would like to speak at the conclave, to share the wisdom you have gained on your travels with the others.
