@Azel could you please explain your aim here? Beyond a single leading sentence, I mean.

Ha!!

@Duesal

With Vision of Doom and the scale on hand we apply -10 to the Abishai's Save DC, followed up with a Trobriand's Baleful Teleport and we just summoned it without a name.

Edit:
By the way, it should be noted that none of this can be blocked by Mindblank and you can specifically target a creature you have only heard of, they get a +5 to their save and that's it.

Mind-blanked Tiamat Spawn could be fished for with sufficient DC buffing and if they make the save, try again tomorrow.

----

The difficulty of the save depends on your knowledge the subject and the physical connection (if any) you have to that creature.

Knowledge Will Save Modifier
None* +10
Secondhand (you have heard of the subject) +5
Firsthand (you have met the subject) +0
Familiar (you know the subject well) -5
Connection Will Save Modifier
Likeness or picture -2
Possession or garment -4
Body part, lock of hair, bit of nail, etc. -10

Point of order: Vision of Doom is a mind-affecting effect, and therefore Mind Blank blocks it outright.

You gotta wonder why people aren't snatching up Viserys with that teleport spell if it's that easy to spam.
Sure our saves are ridiculous, but everything rolls a 1 eventually.

Edit: Ah, I see. Without the Vision of Doom to channel through they'd have to be super close to us to pull it off. That partially explains it. Yet another reason to love Mindblank.

Fear of being subsequently captured and sacrificed?

Updating my vote with a level up plan for Malarys.

Not a ton of stuff happening for him, but he does learn a new feat. I think Chain Spell is perfect for him. With his Long Arm of the Law ability, he can automatically Reach any Touch-ranged spell, such as Shivering Touch or Forceful Strike. Stacking Chain Spell on top of that makes such spells dramatically more effective. It can also be applied to his already ranged spells. Chained Destruction is just beautiful. Thanks to Spell Perfection, he can even cast Chained Boneshatter spells without increasing the spell's level adjustment or needing to fuel it with Divine Metamagic.

I think we need to see what Lya has discovered before we make any other decisions in Old Town. We've already seen how much we would have missed out on if we had just attacked, so there's no telling what else there is we are unaware of.

[X] Return to the others and learn what Lya's divinations showed

[X] Malarys Level Up
-[X] Class: +1 Seeker of Law
-[X] Feat: Chain Spell
-[X] Skills (8 points): +1 Bluff, +1 Diplomacy, +2 Concentration, +2 Sense Motive, +2 Spellcraft

Of course Deliste's spell combo means we can trivially summon any enemy who isn't mindblanked or on another plane to the Snare basically whenever we want.
Granted we are running quite low on enemies that fit that description, but I doubt that Gregor Clegane for instance rates a Mindblank item. Who's for snatching him from his own bed? Lorch? Can anyone else think of someone who we haven't had time to roll up yet that fits that description?

If we're doing that, we need to nab Tywin on the goddamn Privy.

Didn't list him as I would think even he's not dumb enough to not have a Mindblank on yet. Infinity money must be good for something.
If he's available sure, sounds great.

This also has interesting implications for once the Imperium really gets going. The Inquisition doesn't need nearly as many door kickers if they can literally force teleport you out of your own bed just from the divinations showing that you might be thinking about some treason.
I gotta assume high quality wards would stop the nightmare spell, but still, spooky shit for your average criminal.

It's more convenient for us to capture Lorch, Clegane, and Tywin in open view, imo. There's way too much benefit from a public defeat.

And on an OOC note I want Sandor to take down the Mountain himself.

I know it's something that we can do by RAW, ya'll, but I'm not sure if we want to open that can of worms. I would rather have a gentleman's agreement with DP that the tactic doesn't work at all, for us or for our enemies. We have a lot of people protected by Mind Blank, but we have a whole hell of a lot more who don't enjoy such protection, some of them quite important to us.

"The only reason you even lived long enough to lose in battle was because I found it more beneficial to my public relations to be seen trouncing you"
Thebaddies.png :lol:rofl:
Though I do want to see Cleganebowl you got me there.

@Goldfish you might be right, this idea is funny, but way too exploitable.

We'll need to make sure there's actually an agreement there.

For the longest time we thought Shivering Touch was banned via gentleman's agreement with DP, but it turned out DP was happy to give it to our enemies.

True enough. Ask him tomorrow if I forget?

Then again, once Shivering Touch was fair game, it became common on some of our prepared casters' spell loadouts. And after this level up, Malarys is going to be able to use it on over a dozen enemies simultaneously with ease.

Escalation is nice and all, but it leads to extreme paranoia in spiderfish abominations... :o

*Viserys poofs*
Viserys: "Well, congratulations, you managed to get close to the Dread Sorcerer Viserys."
Mage: *cheers*
Viserys: "The bad news is, you're close to the Dread Sorcerer Viserys." *turns into dragon*
Mage: "... mistakes were made."

"Remember this as the day you almost beat Viserys Targahahahahaha. Sorry. Couldn't keep a straight face. Maximized Stilled Silent Searing Agonizing Merciful Paindarts, by the way."

"HOW ARE YOU USING SO MUCH METAMAGIC WHAT THE FUCK?!"

"The power of money! And being a Dragon!"

"That's the same goddamn thing and you know OH GOD MY FACE!"

The fact that we can throw Maximized Searing Agonizing Merciful Paindarts with a straight face always crack me up XD

Don't forget to vote, ya'll. If you don't agree with my vote for the update and want to go with another option, please consider copy/pasting the Malarys level up plan into your vote so we can get that taken care of.

Or just use Vision of Doom to cast anything 6th level and under, it's a little less subtle but if it sticks it really doesn't matter and if we had failed they'd have known anyway.

Actually, @DragonParadox does a creature that passes it's save know it passed a save? That makes certain spells all but useless but if so it'd be nice to know.

It depends on how subtle the spell is and how familiar the subject is with magic.
