Accounting

I've made the spreadsheet under "Dawn Tree Sacrifice"

Simply put the creature name, and fill the information. Or, if you already calculated the final HD per creature, just skip to the last column.

*Goes off to do stuff*

I feel like two times the Shadow of the Doom opportunities are better than one. But that might just be me :V
It's like spending a feat to pick Expanded Arcana with Viserys, then choosing an Acid and a Cold version of Fireball.

We have a spell that fulfills the exact same mission parameters, so wasting this unique opportunity on getting the same spell, but wetter, is ludicrous.

for serious tho', @Azel please update the numbers on the vote to 2187.95 HD total.
Just a tiny bit above 40 Tier-3s, that.

I'm pretty sure those numbers are correct, and we are emptying the entirety of Larder tomorrow anyway (except for one lone devil, oWo).

*is now out for sure*

That's fine with me. She doesn't need a custom Path.
@Snowfire, this is for you too:

How about something like this? Not very different from a generic one, but fits Vee well IMO:
  1. Inspired Spell, standard action summons
  2. Mythic Fleshcrafting (something like Mythic Craft Wondrous Item, but for grafts)
  3. No ageing, diseases or poisons while within 20km of a heart tree or untamed wilderness
  4. Faith's Reach (from Hierophant path)
  5. Mighty Summons (from Hierophant Path)
  6. Contingent Summons (up to Mythic Tier / 3 active at once, must have different activation triggers)
  7. Enduring Blessing
  8. Plantbringer (from Hierophant path). Useless, but very fluffy. The next one will be powerful, anyway :D
  9. Constant "Commune with Nature" kinda like a DF mantle's intellectus.
  10. Capstone: a self-resurrection like a Moss Lich

@Azel, please add Mors Umber, Danar Crowl, and Alyssa Grafton to the guest list.
Done.

Mythic 10 gets you auto-resurrection anyway.

Would prefer to use base options, honestly.

And Mighty Summons is super thematically appropriate for Vee. It should definitely be her first choice.

I appreciate suggestions as always but don't expect anything concrete until tomorrow afternoon. I have a long day of travel home before I'll be able to work on another Mythic Path at all. That said, I have some ideas ;)

I do need to say, though, that I feel that using the Dawn Tree to cheese Mythic is just kinda a massive 'meh' to me.

I'm personally in favor of literally any option that isn't Soggy Doom Knock-Off.

I feel like this is being enormously unfair of you given we don't actually know any real specifics. The Hammer of Waters shattered a truly enormous landbridge into the Stepstones. I'd expect a SotD-esque version of it to be hell on wheels for anti-Illithid work.

It would be one thing if we could give multiple Companions Mythic Ranks with the ritual, but only being able to empower Vee due to her close connection with the OG, that's just not sitting well with me.

I would rather use the sacrifice juice for other purposes.

SoD only affects the soil, not the buildings themselves. Technically it doesn't directly deal damage either, tho considering we melted the hellship I suppose DP made a concession for that.

I'd like to get Hammer of the Waters just for it being unique and powerful.

You know, instead of giving Vee a single Mythic Rank, I wonder if we couldn't get MR 3 Hammer of the Waters/1 month or something, with the normal version available as a normal runestaff, and go unlocking higher tier versions as we are able to feed it MRs.

Thoughts?

I simply dislike the entire idea of being able to sacrifice a tide of evil outsiders and then boom, Mythic. It feels incredibly cheap.

In that it is way too easy and it enormously degrades what a Mythic Ascension should represent. On a balance note, the moment we get to do this once, we'll try to do it again. And my answer to that is, well...no.

Just no.

As the Praetorians were brought up, I remembered: I feel we should research Dragon Vassals, from Bestiary of Krynn. Especially for the Inquisition:
- A Dragon donates a single escale, which is embedded on the subject's chest.
- The Dragon can, at will, Detect Thoughts at any range while inside the same plane, send and receive thoughts, Dominate Person, Symbol of Pain, Symbol of Weakness. Can at any time see and hear what the Vassal does, through concentration.
-- These explicitly bypass even Mindblank
- The Vassal gets:
-- Any RHD go up by one size, to a maximum of d12
-- If they have 5+ HD, they get the same subtype as the Dragon (Fire for us)
-- NA +2
-- Fast Healing 5
-- Darkvision 60 ft
-- +2 Racial on all saving throws
-- STR +8, DEX +4, CON +6
-- +6 racial do Spot, Listen and Search

I feel like that past-viewing thing would be a great way to get secrets on the Sundering.
*can't sleep, life = pain*

I'd say, keep this boon for until our Greenseers are 10+
Then, we'll have far more uses available, and probably in greater quality too.

I also kinda agree with buying a mythic rank this way being a bit cheap.
However...
This is unique circumstance too, isn't it?

Think about it:
Vee is here, actively raising the biggest monument to OGs power...
And she* was the one to work on the greatest boon OGs ever received: the fire-immunity for Heart Trees.

It is as important and world-shaking as Harbringer, from a certain perspective.
She's grown as a character, too - both mechanically (getting herself a Researcher unit quality) and narratively through that.

Tldr: her achievements are no less than those of Lya, and if there is any Legendary event, this is it. And she** is the one behind it, because without that research we wouldn't ever begin to raise the tree.

*and Naria
**and Naria

But whatever. I don't really care tbh.

Keep watch is pretty low level, though it would scale with the character somewhat. What is mind-breakingly difficult study for most people is a spot of light reading for Lya

It would help with both study and fighting practice to a degree though.

What it should definitely be doing is shifting the burden of light duties into the sleeping hours, so instead of cleaning the kitchen from 3-5pm you're doing it from 11-1am and at 3-5pm you can be doing whatever level of activity you feel like, including intense study and battle training.

Seems it shattered something the size of the Isle of Ireland, looking at the overlaid maps I've found.

Hmm, did giving some mythic rank to Vee gained any traction?

:V

There was a unanimous vote to make Vee a Greenseer instead. :V *

*this is, in fact, a lie.. The actual answer is that it seems to have passed, but it feels like a really cheesy and anticlimatic way to get a mythic rank.

Instead of Vee getting a Mythic Rank, what should happen is that this helps every Companion towards their next Mythic Rank since all of them were directly involved with the long and arduous process of gathering the sacrifices.

Just like everyone who went up against the Aspect of Mammon should have a significant leg up on the journey to the first Mythic Rank.
