The dynasty of dynamic alcoholism is eugenicking the ogres of Ostland to a better version that is near human-like.

And my criticism was the limitations locked onto the, mlp friendship is magic version, law of no human in equestria. The sphinx, a most iconic creature with the head of a man, and the body of a lion, got species-bent. Minotaur has a narrow pass due to head of a bull, not man. But the oni are just large color skinned humans with pointy teeth. The centaurs are in myth half-human head/torso with the lower body of a equine.

QM said it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter.

EDIT: I am stupidly sad and tired. Why aren't oni humans? What makes them actually different from a human's appearance? In my mind the oni are very human-look alike.

You missed a nugget of insight where the human portion of the Sphinx was replaced with an equine equivalent.

For the purposes of this quest, we should be asking ourselves( and the QM be that would be spoilers at this junction) how many other mythical creature should be here? Of those being represented, how many are a portion human and a portion of x creature? Finally, how would they be changed to fit-in since all the humans are represented in the Other World?
 
I'm down for Oni being present tbh, they fit the mythology aesthetic quite nicely.

Maybe we're better off trapping him in a soul gem or something like that instead. It can be our new crown jewel :D. ( :ninja: )

If we're lucky the Qilin have a way to exorcise him for good.

...Just thought about it, but i wonder if we'll get to keep the Crystal Heart, The Qilin will take it, or we'll have to destroy it.

On better news, FINALLY we get to import some magic items! First things, we should verify if the oricalchum has any magical properties, THEN we need enchanted weapons and armors for Garrick, Gabriella and the Grandmaster knights. And one as a gift to our father-in-law if he'd like it. Maybe the knights of the inner circles as well if they're not too expensive.
Depending on the price we might slowly enchant more of them. Also, ENCHANTED CANNONS AND FLAMETHROWERS!!!

Possible trade deal: we give them not-magical artillery, they enchant a part for us and keep the rest for themselves.

You know there's one concern that's been nagging at me since Captain Kaboom did his thing. With the way Sombra throws his mind controlled minions at us, I feel a growing concern that there might not be enough Crystal Ponies left to constitute a stable population.

if magic doesn't make it work different (let's say, for example, no genetic diseases), i think all it's needed for stable repopulation is a few hundreds. A few thousands if you want to be completely sure. And that's if mixed-races/species couples are not possible. Lower numbers would probably make survival more unlikely, though not really impossible. There would be higher percentages of people born with diseases and handicaps, but medicine and magic might help. Most problems would only show up generations from now anyway, so we'd have time to research a solution.

Honestly, if Qilin are somehow dragon/pony hybrids then maybe crystal ponies and gryphons have a chance. Hippogriff are a thing after all, and we don't know if they were their own species since the beginning. And worst case we could send the survivors to Equestria once we find it.

Also while the helmets might kill every adult equipped with them once Sombra dies, i doubt he already equipped the babies. And if he really has breeding pens then he should have thousand of infants, maybe more. We should be able to save them at the very least.

I think you do haave a point. By the time we finish this war if we cant manage a decapitation strike but win... there might not be enough crystal ponies alive that remember all their culture. We might end up with thousands of war orphans that will be integrated into our culture.

it would be sad, but... well..crystal magic! Or whatever they have.

We can probably recover a bit of their culture from their library (If Sombra does not destroy it first), and maybe from our own archives or those of other countries, though i know it's not the same.

Ok, wasn't expecting this to become a point of controversy but I'm nothing if not a writer who seeks to give his readers what they want. How many people really object to the existence of the Oni? At this point in the Quest I could remove them with no real difference, but that might not be true later on.

I don't know why people are complaining about the Oni, they can fit into the MLP world to some degree.
