[X] She flew back home to the Argent Vent, with its solid foundation building qi

I have thematic concerns with bringing Sixiang to Zeqing or a Bloody Moon site when she appears to be replenishing her self, and the Argent Vent is all about being compatible with everything.

Mmh, seems like Silent Stones would be best for Focus, Zeqing's for overall Power, and Vent for Breadth?
I'm a bit dubitative on how useful Argent Vent would be. If the vote has any influence on the results, Argent Vent is likely to give the highest breadth of result, and having more breadth for what she is preparing might be counter productive.
I think we hardly have information enough to make predictions like that, ESPECIALLY if we are going to be voting off of them.

To me, it sounds like you are getting way ahead of yourself here.

We should think about the changes potent qi would bring to Sixiang while they're defining/renconstructing themselves. Remember, qi can change the nature of spirits and I don't want to change Sixiang to be more like Ling Qi and the winter maidens. I want them to find their own identity, and the Argent Sect (and the argent qi) is all about supporting early growth and defining yourself (remember, the reason SectcElders have such strong personalities is because of the Argent Way).

In light of those facts, I think the Argent Site is the best option and Zeqing home the worst.

A site won through a Bloody Moon test =/= a Bloody Moon site. It's just a Moon site.

But if we can't make predictions about the effects of the site then whats the point? Like, we may as well flip a three sided coin if that was the case.

IMO, from their words it looks like Sixiang's finished making their domain, and this choice helps them through their rise to Appraisal? In which case I think doubling down on Moon is best, or if not then I'd settle for the Vent.

They've straight up called it Good Stuff in the past, let's presume they weren't lying.

The Bloody Moon already said she was done with us, going there won't trigger the trial again. It's just a moon-aligned qi site for us now, and all moon qi is the same.
Staying away from a place that can help a friend because we dislike the memories it brings is the opposite of where we want to be going

Ling Qi restrained herself from matching his grimace with her own. "You never struck me as the type, Baron Ji," she said dryly, eyeing the titles of the books he held. Treatises on leadership, logistics, and yes, administration filled out most of the stack.

"What's it to you," he replied, meeting her eyes defiantly. "You think I'm too stupid to learn anything but punching or something?"

Ling Qi debated just leaving, but curiosity drove her to ask. "...Why though. Did my phantoms jar something loose when they were spinning you around?"

He looked like he wanted to spit blood at the reminder of his loss. She found it funnier than she probably should have. "Dunno, why do you care about the past all of a sudden?" He spat in return.

Ling Qi glanced down at the book in her hands that she had been casually perusing. "...Even if it doesn't matter, seeing the patterns is important I think," she replied, thinking back to her encounter in the dream and Senior Brother Liao's own words on the futility of it. "I'll leave you to your study," Ling Qi said, closing her book and standing. There wasn't much point in antagonizing him, aside from petty satisfaction.

...And she had already indulged in that, doing more would just be gluttonous.

As she moved to pass him by though, he spoke. "They aren't any different," he said. "But that doesn't change the fact that I've been a shit Boss."

Ling Qi paused, eyeing the scarred boy without turning her head. "Are you making the comparison that I think you're making?" She asked, vaguely incredulous.

He let out a bitter laugh. "Yeah, Guess I am, Gang Boss, Baron, Duke, Emperor. It's all a matter of scale, innit." He shook his head. "I'm never gonna be leading packs in a fight like that Cai or or pet giant, but if a Boss is what I am, I'm not gonna be a shit one."

"That's not the kind of thing you should say Sect Brother," Ling Qi replied dryly. "Please consider your words more before you tarnish the Sect's reputation."

"Whatever," he snorted. "I'm outta here in a couple years anyway. Not gonna run off and leave her alone like the rest of those parasites," he turned away from her then, resuming his path toward the reading desk in the far corner.

Ling Qi shook her head as she began to move toward the archives exit. She supposed that at least answered clearly what was going on between Sun Liling and Ji Rong.

Aw man, I was really hoping these two could have an amicable conversation. Somewhat annoyed at Qi now.

Moon site sounds like the best option, definitely don't wanna fill Sixiang with Ice right now.

As far as Ji Rong goes it's a bit of a shame but unfortunately even if Qi was a warmer person I'd think his wounded pride would be an obstacle.
More to the point...I half-wonder if once Zhengui comes back he's going to feel the need to 'warm Qi up' or something due to the otherwise lacking amounts of Fire Element that we have in ourselves.

You never struck me as the type, Baron Ji," she said

I love that LIng Qi is referring to Ji Rong just by his title as a reminder he's a noble it's the kind of petty jab I'd hoped for.

Kung. Fu. Mean. Girls.

*clap* *clap* *clapclapclap*

Ling Qi had a sudden sinking feeling that she now knew how Meizhen felt sometimes.
And for some reason, Sect members could hear smug snake hisses on the wind that day.

Just wait till Biyu starts recklessly diving into danger!

Also, the experience there is the reason why siaxiang is doing this....so narratively it works for me.

The entire trial we did there was the trigger to Sixiang doing this...reformatting(?) action. It makes themeatic sense to use the thing that caused you pain and turn it into something better. I also think the moon Qi being compatible Sixiang is also a plus.

We can make predictions, but not anything nearly as specific as what Arkeus has proposed. For example, I predict that the Argent Vent is a safer "easy-to-digest" option on account of Argent Qi being unlikely to interfere with other Qi - but I would not go so far as to say that we should be expecting a specific class of effect (e.g. "breadth").

To be fair that is a bit wishy-washy, so let me adjust my previous statement. Whatever predictions we make, we should be clear on how "fuzzy" they are and not proposing hypotheses and loose ideas as something solid or confirmed.

I had assumed 1 point went for defensive research this month, but I suppose I can work in a challenge too if that was the intent. I'll edit it to be certain on Ling Qi's part.
Does Ling Qi care about losing challenges? Is this a face thing due to being subordinate to the Cai, a pride thing, or a greed thing (based off of wanting to win their CP deposits)?

I am pretty sure the discord cabal thought only 1 research was needed to challenge and wanted to go to the next ranking level. I think the thought was why would we need to research for being challenged, we don't get to pick the person who is challenging us. But if the way the system works is 1AP for defense, 2AP for offense that is good to know.
