I say we pull back. Blow the pass and get back to the city. Use the time we gain to set new traps and prepare for the siege. If Sombra wants to make it into the heartland he will need to beat us at the city. We have the advantage of choosing the battlefield. The current one is used up so time to choose a new one.

I'm leaning more to holding the pass the longer I think about it. You don't interrupt the enemy while he is making a mistake.

Charging a narrow pass into a prepared position supported by artillery is probably a mistake. I'm worried about the Abominations tho.

[X] Hold Your Ground!: You've slain tens of thousands of the enemy and taken comparatively few losses yourself. You've yet to commit the Knights, and there is still plenty of ammo and fuel left. This is your best chance to halt the enemy, here and now. You won't get a better set of circumstances. Continue to hold.
-[x] Cycle some front line units to the back and bring forward fresh ones. This is a fight of endurance, let them rest if you can.

images work fine for me, also i dont want to give up this position we will never have a better one like we all said before we either hold him here or we are in for a world of hurt. His numbers are against him here our pikes our strong our cannons, ballistas and archers ready to keep slaughtering in the kill zone and our flamethrowers have fuel to spare. A siege would be useless against this army they will either just avoid us entirely and go raid the rest of our empire forcing us to fight on his terms or surround the city and starve us out as clearly they have little need for much food. We must hold them here.

Edit: ok now the images arent working for me either.

We should pull back but I will wait to see who wins the majority in the short term we haven't even gotten to the harder part yet and sombra is not going to just ram us with his horde of zombies and creatures again he will something different.

[x] Write-In: wait until more of the enemies have crossed the avalanche zone (no more than 10.000) before blowing the charges. Send the knight to help deal with them quickly. THEN retreat.
-[x]IF Sombra deploys his abominations immediately blow the charges, trying to bury them in the avalanche. Same if he advances himself.
-[x]IF we exhaust any of our ammunitions (cannonballs, gunpowder, liquid fire, arrows...) or lose more than 20% of our soldiers immediately blow up the pass and proceed like established above.

Let's see if we can take some more out and then we will likely have to pull the avalanche option.

As good an initial clash as we could ask for!

I say hold ground for now, yes our enemy might be a mindless horde so they can just keep coming but we can still bleed them heavily here. We have a good position even without traps and can still bleed more of his forces before attempting a retreat. Might be a good idea to rotate our troops to let the fresher one provide the tired time to rest though. We should probably stay as long as our troops are not too tired and our artillery still has ammo.

Still need to watch out for when Sombra gets creative though, once he realizes that we won't be overrun by numbers I imagine he will commit the Abominations but then I imagine he will try something different.

Hmmmm well all the traps are gone but I am wondering if sombra will just avoid the city and go around us.
Hmm... That depends on how the mind control works. If Sombra really is incapable of delegating control of his troops then he still needs to stay in one piece and any avoidance only means he can try and draw us away while leaving his back open on terrain we know better than him. If he can split his forces then he can leave a sizable force to besiege us and threaten the rest of the nation.

We need to have Sombra commit as much as possible, if we pull back now he will know something is up and hold his best units back

I do agree though we should cycle the troops we have a chance and the fresher the better.

We sgould try to swap the units for fresher ones if we are able to cant let them get too tired. Speaking of zombie armies anyone read the world war z book? When the Americans were taking back the heart land they set up kill boxes set to a metronome to keep pace with each bullet so to preserve ammo until they were making small towers of bodies from the dead.

After a period of time that could be measured in minutes or hours, the last of the dark knights is felled. Your forces let loose a ragged cheer...only to fall silent as the dark forces on the horizon begin to shift and move forward again. You grimace. Is there no end to them?!

Hmmm Sombra didn't really seem like the tactical/strategic type in show and yet he's our Sauron equivalent.

That might work if it were only zombie ponies coming at us - but Sombra will try something a bit more creative sooner or later I'm sure, so we shouldn't get lulled into a false sense of security.

Right now, Sombra's forces have to come directly at us. If we fall back, he can attempt to outflank our defensive positions.

This is going better than expected, but we are dealing with what amounts to a zombie army with a dark wizard. And some shadow constructs. If it was just the zombie army I'd say hold but we are in a canyon with a wizard who can make spires of razor Cristal grow from Stone.

I say blast the constructs with the cannons and fall back.
