Only a few votes difference between Gilded Griffon and Young Scholar. Will leave the vote open for a bit longer to ensure everyone gets a chance to be heard.

[X] The Young Scholar: Your son shall spend his days amidst the tomes and scrolls of the Royal library and archives, familiarizing himself with the sciences and the arts, and imbuing him with a head for numbers. +Learning, +Stewardship, -Intrigue

[X] The Gilded Gryphon: Your son shall follow in your footsteps, learning the intricate and complicated laws of the market, tutored by bankers, burghers, merchants, and other industrious fortune-builders. +Diplomacy, +Stewardship, -Martial

The second child is martial, the third is the scholar, possibly the other way arround.
The first child is raised to rule a kingdom.

And how is teaching our son the importance of stewardship and education not to mention improving the odds to roll well on the Genius trait not setting him up to be a ruler?

The Young Scholar scrapes out a victory, just barely. I'll roll the dice, but it will be a while until you actually get to see his stats, and even longer until his stats reach their full development. Can't have a child with higher stats than his parents now.

Can't wait for the summit interlude. Time to put those diplo skills to the test and try to reunify the empire.

Edit: and considering we crit the nostalgia thing the common griffon are all for it.

I ended up voting for Scholar in the end independently of this claim, but I would really want some proof that the education-focus can actually increase the chance of our child inheriting/gaining Genius.
It works with the narrative of a genius. By putting our son in as many situations where he can show his genius that means it should translate mechanically to a higher chance to inherit from us.

If your only point is narrative to justify a genetic trait, I feel skeptical.

It is not all mechanics narrative has a large part to play as well. Being skeptical is fine. I also want to try and improve our tech and infrastructure as much as possible as well. We have Urbrido which should follow it's real world inspiration and be a very early adopter of the Renaissance and became a major center of culture and learning. I want to leverage that as much as possible to make up for our lack of magic.

I think that he thought that with us as his father our son will have access to the merchant knowledge and our wife will probably take part in raising him as well teaching him about martial knowledge, add to that that we will expose him to the scholars at the weary young age and you have a kid that is somewhat proficient at everything.
