Everyone, let's leave.

[X] Teleport away as swiftly as you can, the risk of being found is too great

We don't want the devils to know that we did this if possible. They'll guess, but keeping them guessing is always good. And let's not let the Lannisters know that it was us either!
Let's come back tomorrow and talk to her if you really do want to Diplomance her.

I'm gonna vote to either leave immediately, or kidnap her and leave immediately. No communication involved, as that ruins our work to remain undetected.

To those wanting us to go away and come back later, first, that requires finding time in the Schedule (I'm not sure we can). Secondly, I want to strike whilst the iron is hot. I don't intend on admitting any names right now, but she's a smart cookie, she'll work it out. The point here is that we struck very deliberately in a manner that ensured minimal harm to everything that wasn't our target. This wasn't strategic scale terrorism, this was a surgical strike to remove a major threat from the capital of the Seven Kingdoms before it could make anything else go wrong. Hitting her with that right now is good, then we leave her grasping for answers and TP out.

I'm not wanting a full scale Conversation with her, but I want to lay out some threads to work with in the future. Now's an excellent time for it, and once we've done that we just go. Talk to her later. It's not as if divination will give her any answers.

Mhm. Why do we want to keep our involvement secret anyway? The devils will probably figure it out, as for the Lannisters, what can they do? I am probably missing something.

The main problem I see here is plausible deniability.

Wasn't that what we were aiming for the whole time?

Think about the situation on the ground. Huge flaming sinkhole just opened up, destroyed one of the most valuable assets to the kingdom, now you're running towards it, adrenaline pumping. What are you doing? Scan for threats, then it hits you.

"What do you think of the show?"

You're first reaction is going to be to call reinforcements and identify the threat, now tywin knows something happened. Now everyone knows something happened, and it's one step away from conclusively identifying us.

I want to talk to her, but why wouldn't the above happen?

We don't want to set off the Reconquista for a few months. We have to allow the fiction to exist that the Dragon King can't just waltz into King's Landing whenever he pleases and do pretty much whatever he wants.

It is amusing that Lannisters bring out the most passionate feelings in this thread. The last time the Lannisters started something we almost turned Casterly Rock into a volcano.

The fact that there is a Forbiddance spell in the 'sinkhole' is going to make it pretty damn obvious that a powerful spellcaster was involved.

The shopkeeper will also probably tell Vargs.
This is terrible for our PR in Westeros. Let's let the Lannisters investigate the rubble, find hints of devil work, and blame it all on devils.
Even better: after such an ostentatious act, the Lannisters will definitely act harder against the devils in the realm! Right?

To be honest, I'm considering a Social VoteTM to start laying the seeds of the conversion process, if people are interested in engaging with her right now. Again, from the interludes and our own IC knowledge, she seems one of the more reasonable people on the opposite side. Informing her of the massive devil conspiracy that was under her nose and that has now been taken care of can't hurt. We also have a range of 260' with Message, and the spell can go around buildings and the like so we don't even need to keep line of sight after casting it. Just stay in range.

Given what we just handled for them, I don't see a reason not to elaborate a little.

I like this. The reason for secrecy was to stop wildfire. We are now free to be upfront. EDIT: with mages and other sensible sorts that already know that the reason we aren't fucking up westeros is because we choose to, not open with the masses.

So, if we want to turn Lanna, then a good step, I feel would be to help her. Suggestion, message her that we will aid her in putting out this fire, hidden as we are. And then we can talk privately.

We have invisibility and dispel magic and Pyrotechnics :: d20srd.org sla, so she can take credit for saving KL from the flames of the foolishness of the guild that destroyed them and threatened the city.

See that's kinda the problem. The only proof we have of the devil's involvement just literally went up in smoke. The only thing we have is our words, and considering she's a Lannister, what we've done to their port, what they've done to our family, what Tywin tried to have her do and what she might suspect we've figured out, and the simple fact of her being a wizard/witch/magicman in our enemies' employ means that anything we say or do is going to be viewed in the worst possible light.

We
can say it was a surgical strike against mankind's enemies, but unless we can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that there were demons and devils in the building we just reduced to a pile of molten slag she's not going to believe us.

How can I put this...

You're asking a Toa to listen to a Makuta right after the Makuta just blew up a matoran building right in front of them and for both of them to trust each other at their word. Unless one party does a lot of effort and set things up properly all you're going to get is a fight.

Yeah all right let's talk to her next time we catch her pulling some Bull Shit:tm:

I think you overestimate Tywins intelligence. I'm in favor of just leaving since I'm concerned that grabbing her and putting her in a bottle will deprive Tywin of what little restraint he has.

She certainly isn't used to this level of violence and devastation though. To her, this won't feel like a surgical strike. She's going to see dead innocents and a huge risk to the rest of the city. This isn't the best occasion to make a good impression.

Those were words. I'm sure they make sense.

More seriously, I get it, but if we don't do this then the infernal influence isn't going to get properly stopped. We need to point her, and that's what I intend to do. Remember, Mind Blank. I'm not exactly planing on giving any names.

All the more reason to talk and help her understand that this was a surgical strike, rather than let that impression sink in over time

[X] Snowfire

edit: oh, snowfire isn't saying it was us. huh. Well, still wanna get a read on her. :)

[X] Plan Outsiders Ain't Got Time For This Shit
-[X] Cast Message on Lanna from no closer than 200'. Maintain that distance as minimum separation.
-[X] Inform her that the Alchemist's Guild was stockpiling wildfire as part of the agenda of certain powers infernal. The matter has now been handled with as little loss of innocent life as possible.
-[X] Make it clear that we only acted here due to the vast threat posed to mortal life.
-[X] If the Golden Shields would kindly do the job in cleaning up the rest of the Guild, they're sure to find ample evidence of infernal involvement if they can catch the remaining members, that would be appreciated.
--[X] Ensure that she is aware that there may well be significant fiendish presence involved with some of those members, so being careful would be wise. Give a very basic tactical outline of what may be able to oppose her. Leave out the false-god.
-[X] Give no name, no title, and use no frills. Apply this information as bluntly as possible.
-[X] Teleport out once finished.

If she tries to Divine us, she'll 404. We give her leads, let her act on them, and then things will take their course. When it comes time to actually talk to her properly, we can use this as a point in our favour. Seriously guys, I said a Social vote. I never said we were going to introduce ourselves.

I'm not insane.
Well..um...mostly? YMMV.

Just a reminder that there are still two Pleasure Devils around.
Undetected and given a chance to use their social skills they are a really big danger to everything.
Maybe Lanna can deal with those?

We could scry and die the remnants, and try to make the devil influence as obvious as possible.

Then we can just let them figure out 2+2 and hopefully arrive at the moderately accurate 3.957 and blame most of the stuff that doesn't fit on even more devil influence.

I just dont think trying to make friends when we just committed what is (from an outside perspective) a terrorist attack to deny our enemy a serious resource is gonna work.

The only proof we have is our word, the word of a dead man, and some imps that know almost nothing. Thats not enough to make a convincing argument imo.
