Crazy conspiracy idea of the day:

Jon Arryn is a servant of The Others.
Not much is known about the old Lord of the Eyrie, but two things are evident to everyone in the know:

1) He is a master of plots, creating a vast network of alliances and conspirators to bring the end of a dinasty. Further, he remains a central political figure in Westeros, serving as hand of the King and actually in charge of governing the realm.

2) He is a shit judge of character, he literally would not be able to identify a chaotic spawn of the pit if he was in front of him fucking his wife.

How does one reconcile both fundamental pieces of his character? The answer, you dont, It makes no goddamn sense, not only is he responsible for the rise of Baelish, he Also had the brilliant idea of bringing Cersei to the capital, and pretty much surrendering the court to the Lannisters, while having a small council full of the treacherous and the incompetent.

But what if there is a solution? What if instead of a savant idiot we have a cold, calculating mind setting up Westeros to fall like a house of cards.

Think about It my dear readers, not only is he responsible for orchestrating the fall of the Targaryen Dinasty, you know, the ones prophesized to give birth to the savior? But he put an incompetent King on the throne, without any attempt to curtail his vices and exceses, leasing to the bankrupcy of the realm in the canon timeline.
He also got a Queen that was not only clearly magalomaniac herself, but saw her raise a litter of princes completely incapable of actual rule.
He also got a crazy wife, with a crazy son as his only heir, leaving the future of the Vale uncertain.
He got one of the scheming, treacherous rats (snakes are nice, hail Yss!) In a position of power, and right where he can do the most damage.
He kept the old spymaster, with links to Essos and the Black-"Lets invade Westeros every other year"-fyre Dinasty.
He keeps grand maester pycelle, an incompetent Lannister Spy in the small council.
And most important of all, he keeps everything together, without him everything crumbles, and he knows this! The moment he dies ( and oh! How he wishes to finally meet his masters! )Westeros is set Up to fall to either civil war, or just collapse under sheer incompetence.
Who else would have planned that? How unlikely is It that a single man can fuck Up an entire continent without realizing?
Do not be fooled, he works for the cold dark, and his sinister plans are close to fruition.

See us Next week with more of The Truth! And remember the other Truths that have been revealed to you!
"How the walrus people will rise again: the wall is their Highway"
"The Demon Lord Abraxxas is still posessing Lya: An unexpected tale of love"
"The time police: our Evil overlords"

One can only blame GRRM so much for his inconsistencies, and that's the only argument against you that I can find.

Which means that you are probably right, and that we need to speed the fuck up the invasion of Westeros

Mmm,. honestly Ymeri is looking more and more like something we will need to deal with.
Once he takes the city we should finally deal with whatever is inside the burning House.
I suspect Rhllor will pay very very nicely for anything we manage to steal from his ex.

Worth Garin's favor, I should expect. Or hope we demand. Seriously, we should have just said, "no thank you" to the deal to stay in the temple. And come back in the morning. Hindsight.

How long does it take to travel from Rh'llor's temple to the edge of the gilded quarter, I wonder. :(

[X] Ask Zherys where our intervention might prove the most advantageous to his cause without risking his plans.
-[X] Offer the service of our more stealth inclined companions, as well as the direct support of those not so easy recognizable.
-[X] Ask for information about Meraxes and her cult, should she prove amenable to our goals, we would like to have a chat with her echo.

@das_slash @Takesis I don't want to bring up Amrealth, or focus on necromancy when we're prepping to stamp demons.

Mainly the Amy bit though.
Agreed.

Ei, fine.

@Duesal, can you bring up a better vote that includes visiting Benerro, and hopefully finally figure out Garin's deal? Time for me to sleep. Yes, at noon here on the Eastern Hemisphere. I keep odd hours.

@Takesis @BeepSmile is right, no need to mention necromancy, rewording to ask for general cooperation.

Edit: to be honest i want to delegate because i dont trust myself not to get distracted by something else, i am looking for something to binge after all.

@Duesal just finished rereading "Hear me Roar", damn, that was good story, i Hope the author is alright, he just disappeared one day, and he actually advanced the plot so much, and had more planned.

Bringing Brenno into this would be costly in some fashion.

I just want to get that favor removed, preferably via dealing with the burning House.

He's perfectly fine. All that happened is that he and his wife had a baby, and that murdered his free time, which unfortunately means the discontinuation of the story. Damn good story, though. Really set the bar high for crossovers.

Asking about the necromancer is a waste of time. What exactly do we even want from him?

Instead leverage Benerro. Zherys doesn't have enough troops to cover the whole city.

[X] Ask Zherys where our intervention might prove the most advantageous to his cause without risking his plans.
-[X] Talk with Benerro to deploy the Fiery Hand, both to keep order and to make sure no demons slip by and start to fester in the slums. Zherys troops are too few to cover the whole city and the alliance of convenience will aid his narrative of having to nake hard choices in the face of a horrible threat.

@Azel i dont think Benerro and Zhaerys like each other much, this is likely to get us tangled in the local polítics.
I like the man though, and we could make the offer, but i'm not sure its worth It.
It seems to me that Zherys likely wants the Demons to cause some damage, to make his position seem more necessary.

Guys one thing you should keep in mind is that Zherys' current plan is for two weeks form now. If you want to move up the timetable you have to make your own or proposealterations.

He also said he doesn't want to see Volantis turn into a Demon pit and not burning out the rot with all your might is how you turn a city into exactly that.

Translation, it collides with the tail end of the PoA and the start of Sothoryos.

Damn, well, we dont need to be here, just offer support.
Who is free those days? Loan him those guys, we can make space (i think)

Oh yes, please let us immediately bail on our alliance by not being able to be arsed to do more then send him some left-over party-members after squeezing out the entire plan.

That's sure going to work out.

On one hand the PoA is likely to have additional complications that might be difficult to extract ourselves from, on the other Sothoryos really should not be bumped off the schedule yet again. Tricky situation, we also don't know how long Sothoryos will take so switching the schedule to just get it done first is a bit dubious.
