With Paternalism coming up I think Beh becomes a big question. Stymyr gets sphered HARD, but Beh also has a good deal of Hes influence and Hes may see an attempt to sphere them as a counter to their influence and spark WW1 to stop "DC aggressive diplomacy".

I think we should avoid trying to cut Hes out of Beh. If we sphere Beh it should be expressly a shared sphere between Hes and us. Perhaps enforced neutrality with Beh forced to act as a buffer state. Both DC and Hes agree to support Beh indeoendance VS any agressor (exspecially the other) and Beh signs a defensive pact with both the DC and Hes.

Hes gets REALLY solid assurance that Ochior will fail if they want to move north. Hes and DC get a neutral buffer state jointly sphered and mostly ignored so the two best armies in the world don't rub shoulders.

And seeing as any DC X Hes war is gonna happen in Beh lands ANYWAY, agreeing to side with the defender isn't arduous when they are gonna ether be enough to hold the line or fold like a house of cards with little middle ground.

I thought the the DC needed a strong Tech lead to sphere powers? Stymyr and Beh are technological peers and therefore (I expect) they are ineligible.

My reading was we could sphere any non-GP neighbour. I need to check the rankings to see if Stymyr and Beh are GP's.

Yep, both are secondary powers. We should be able to diplomatically sphere them if we choose, ether through arms or diplomats.

Stymyr is unlikely to resist. They don't seem to be a world player anyway. Beh is only a concern because Hes may see it as us taking over the contenent and getting a boarder with them.

Interestingly enough, Khem is also a secondary power. Sphereing them may be an option that makes the Suez even more profitable.

And there is good posibilities in freeing Korea and then immidiatly sphereing them.

Anyway, here's to making a case for Electromagnetic Theory.

Doing it gives us both an extra supporter for spectroscopy and Hiding in the Rinbow. THermodynamics only supports spectroscopy.

On the other hand, spectroscopy is already open since we finished both chemistries, and will finish basically immediately. Hiding in the rainbow won't progress at all until we get another hospital, by which point spectroscopy will be finished.

The synergy between Cheap Steel and Thermodynamics with the industrial research boost is too good to pass up imo.

The Narrative structure of this quest.

Past Thread: We are not the baddies. *picks nice traits but fail to realize narrative repercussions and become haughty, pseudo slaving elves*

@Academia Nut: You are the baddies.

Present Thread: We refuse to be baddies. *picks diplomacy but ends up becoming militaristic, web weaving spider elves with a dangerous possibility of believing in the trite that is eugenics*

@Academia Nut : By refusing to be baddies you are even worse baddies.

Future Thread: We are most certainly not the baddies. *Creates an ethnostate that spreads to become a literal Galactic Empire who must defeat those pesky rebels. Wouldn't a giant space laser be nice? Sounds like a cool mega project*

Don't we already have access to cheap steal through the Scandinavians?

We have access to the Steel Rail tech for laying down trunk lines, due to that our Steel Rails research rate is halved. We want to put Cheap Steel in an academy so we can boost industry on it and finish it asap because it also reduces the IC prices on alot of our major IC sinks such as rails.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Of course, whether people's intentions actually were good is up for debate.

And really, this is all the result of refusing to go FULL Republican. True, we still could've gone down this path, but it would've been easier to go down a better path.
