Permanent turtlification, while fitting and hilarious, also feeds those bad rumors about us. Remember the rumors that we turned Stannis into a stag and ate him? Yeah.

For the truly heinous people, just let them go. Watch them closely. They'll inevitably slip up and revert to old habits. Then they'll have broken our laws, and we'll have our excuse to execute them.

While trading within the Empire exists, they would be in a bad position to compete: they would in effect be the only people in the world paying import tariffs (and they'd have to trade with us, but we certainly wouldn't have to trade with them). They wouldn't be benefiting from whatever infrastructure projects we put in place, and they'd be in a very bad position while negotiating trade or military deals with us.

It's more meant as a baseline for interacting with the Archon himself anyway.

The deal is pretty simple.
- He publicly steps down in our favor.
- He gives us every bit of dirt or intel he has on the other magisters.
- He will "voluntarily" go into exile for his failings. Specifically Braavos, which neatly insulates him from either retaliation of the others or the scheming of the other Daughters. Also turns him into a honeypot for the Anti-Viserys faction in Braavosi politics.

So they can just join us and get all those benefits and lack of tariffs. Better yet, they can join early. This isn't nearly as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. Joining the Imperium and being able to trade within it is something the Braavosi would gleefully exploit, coupled with those infrastructure projects that we'd send their way.

Permanent turtlification is basically death, but worse. And it's easier to revive someone who's been turtlified (steal turtle, then spam Dispel Magic until you roll a crit) than killed (requires spells higher than level 3).
Honestly I would choose death before turtlification.

So why even bother to say that to her? It's needlessly scary and the wrong audience entirely. She's willing to help us, so why not give her the necessary reassurance for that, and leave it there, rather than unload the rest at her?

Hey if we're still considering making custom Cloudkill versions or even debating smoke bomb types. Holy Water Cloudkill anyone?
Or hey we're gonna get that Paradise fruit orchard soon. So even if we can't make wine out of the stuff soft drinks should be fine right? Because that stuff has to be at least as good as holy water when turned into liquid.

Maybe even disinfect any minor corruption Legionnaires might have in their system if drunk? Because they will need a type of magic wound treatment that can be rationed instead of being used in one shot. And Angleic Tropicana disinfectant sounds like a nice idea.

He isn't telling her all that. He's sharing that plan with us (because it's great), but he's only telling her what's in the vote.

I would as well, but it's an easy form of imprisonment, if we chose that route.

Turtles live a long time, have simple dietary needs, and are not the most mobile of creatures.

I'd prefer killing them, though. Turtlification was just presented as an alternative. There is also Rabbitification, Dogification, Catification, Fishification, Smoky Confinement, and Flesh to Stone.

What he's voting to tell her is what I have objections to. It's completely pointless and cruel.

We could just tell her he'll get a fair trial. Why the rest of it?

I actually really want to do it, but at the same time I know DP will pounce on the chance to punish us for carelessness like that. It'd be like shooting a bazooka at our PR.

It should go in the pile of ideas we would like to try but that we can't for PR reasons, like getting our very own Lich as a subordinate. :(

I personally like the Targeryean Empire, its just the most logical name for it and sounds great as well. Don't know how to justify IC the 'Imperium', but it sounds nice as well, wouldn't be mad if that one won instead.

Not too hard to justify IC. 'Imperium' is Latin for absolute power, which is what we're going for in Prime Material. We can extrapolate that from High Valyrian if we need to.
