Permanent turtlification, while fitting and hilarious, also feeds those bad rumors about us. Remember the rumors that we turned Stannis into a stag and ate him? Yeah.As an alternative to execution for some who are bad without being truly heinous, what do ya'll think about permanent turtlification?
Or using a combination of Bestow Curse, Mark of Justice, and Geas to force them to man soup kitchens for the rest of their lives? That's not slavery, that's restitution.
While trading within the Empire exists, they would be in a bad position to compete: they would in effect be the only people in the world paying import tariffs (and they'd have to trade with us, but we certainly wouldn't have to trade with them). They wouldn't be benefiting from whatever infrastructure projects we put in place, and they'd be in a very bad position while negotiating trade or military deals with us.Trading within the Imperium is still a thing. While not as good as trading with foreign powers, it's not going to be to the level of "we must destroy the Dragon King or he'll kill the economy." They'll adjust. Also, they don't need the Scholarum, no, but it's still the best there is. The best arcane library in Prime Material, coupled with the best and most knowledgeable teachers of magic? Yeah. The Silver Eye is decent, but Alysande is the strongest member at level 7, and since she's the leader she won't always have the time to teach. It's no comparison. If given a choice, a young Braavosi noble would try to learn in the Scholarum.
We'll see soon enough. Given that he's a Tyroshi nobleman, however, and Archon to boot, I'm confident there's something execution-worthy that we'll find.
This is one of those instances where more talking isn't helpful. You're speeching at a child.
It's more meant as a baseline for interacting with the Archon himself anyway. This is one of those instances where more talking isn't helpful. You're speeching at a child.
So they can just join us and get all those benefits and lack of tariffs. Better yet, they can join early. This isn't nearly as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. Joining the Imperium and being able to trade within it is something the Braavosi would gleefully exploit, coupled with those infrastructure projects that we'd send their way. While trading within the Empire exists, they would be in a bad position to compete: they would in effect be the only people in the world paying import tariffs (and they'd have to trade with us, but we certainly wouldn't have to trade with them). Permanent turtlification is basically death, but worse. And it's easier to revive someone who's been turtlified (steal turtle, then spam Dispel Magic until you roll a crit) than killed (requires spells higher than level 3).As an alternative to execution for some who are bad without being truly heinous, what do ya'll think about permanent turtlification?

The deal is pretty simple.
- He publicly steps down in our favor.
- He gives us every bit of dirt or intel he has on the other magisters.
- He will "voluntarily" go into exile for his failings. Specifically Braavos, which neatly insulates him from either retaliation of the others or the scheming of the other Daughters. Also turns him into a honeypot for the Anti-Viserys faction in Braavosi politics.
Why, that's older than half the Companions! Let's make her Archon!
He isn't telling her all that. He's sharing that plan with us (because it's great), but he's only telling her what's in the vote.So why even bother to say that to her? It's needlessly scary and the wrong audience entirely. She's willing to help us, so why not give her the necessary reassurance for that, and leave it there, rather than unload the rest at her?

Honestly I would choose death before turtlification.

Death. You know what's great about death? It doesn't require ******* level 5 spell slots.
@Goldfish, better?
[X] "First and foremost I wish to talk with him to unravel the lies and deception woven by the daemonic cults to conceal their presence. He will receive a fair trial like all others."
I mostly want to imply directly that he can get a "fairer" trial by selling out others.
I actually really want to do it, but at the same time I know DP will pounce on the chance to punish us for carelessness like that. It'd be like shooting a bazooka at our PR.But I just had an idea to create the Great Petting Zoo of Tyrosh, with all the cute little creatures contained within being utter assholes.
Some asshat will drop a Sudden Widened Disjunction in there just to make our day more annoying. But I just had an idea to create the Great Petting Zoo of Tyrosh, with all the cute little creatures contained within being utter assholes.
Wait, what is the name of our future empire? New Valyria? The Imperium? I also forgot that since we are a kingdom conquering other polities, we technically are an empire. Heh.
We can still make a Evil / Negative Energy Arcanum for Questionable Research to fulfill that goal.I actually really want to do it, but at the same time I know DP will pounce on the chance to punish us for carelessness like that. It'd be like shooting a bazooka at our PR.
It should go in the pile of ideas we would like to try but that we can't for PR reasons, like getting our very own Lich as a subordinate.
Not too hard to justify IC. 'Imperium' is Latin for absolute power, which is what we're going for in Prime Material. We can extrapolate that from High Valyrian if we need to.I personally like the Targeryean Empire, its just the most logical name for it and sounds great as well. Don't know how to justify IC the 'Imperium', but it sounds nice as well, wouldn't be mad if that one won instead.
I'm definitely looking forward to her, then.We can still make a Evil / Negative Energy Arcanum for Questionable Research to fulfill that goal.
