I wonder if we're going to get more defectors (former loyalists and spies both) after it becomes known that not only that we took Tyrosh, but so easily (fingers crossed).

We really should secure Moonsong's loyalty and service for maximal period of time possible as soon as we can.
What with her gaining too much influence and power too quickly in our employ.

Next month I'm advocating for a 5-6 day Braavos multi-action, already posted it here many times and think you guys wouldn't want to see me spam it again.
Anyway, for all Fey are asshats, we kind of have to deal with them either way.
Braavos is going to be our turf soon-ish.

Now, some people said that we'd be talking with them anyway, when we'll be sending FRenly off... (When's that, anyway?)
but I think we should start taking actions now.

Getting some more clearly useful fey (blink doggos, bulabars, etc etc), while simultaneously strengthening anti-fey Braavosi institutions (only Silver Eye, really) to lessen their influence seems a good idea.

...okay, I just want some blink dogs 'cause I've had a cuteness overdose a few minutes ago from watching dog videos. Those puppos in DP's picture look close enough to White Swiss shepherds and wolfdogs to trigger all my buttons.

Anyway, G'night everyone.

The rumors coming out of this conquest are going to be...very concerning to our neighbors. So far, the things that are definitely going to get out and spread around:

1) Viserys Targaryen has at least one adult dragon under his control, and more detailed reports might suggest he has more than one. (DRAGONS! MULTIPLE DRAGONS!)
2) The Second Sons aided in his conquest, despite being hired by Tyrosh, and still having a good reputation at this point in time. (You can't trust your sellswords!)
3) Viserys somehow has an army of soldiers in plate with magic swords, instead of a pirate rabble. (WHERE DOES HE GET ALL THESE WONDERFUL TOYS?!)
4) Viserys teleported troops directly into the city (VISERYS CAN TELEPORT AN ARMY INTO YOUR CITY. ALL YOUR BASE BELONG TO HIM! YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE, MAKE YOUR TIME)

Less common rumors that might percolate:
1) Viserys's troops not merely beat Unsullied, but the unsullied broke and surrendered.
2) Literal angels march with Viserys.
3) More to come...

Only if it doesn't conflict with the Dragonstone action. If this gets in the way of us getting pseudodragons I'm going to be against it.

Moonsong is quickly approaching the point where we bind her forever or cut her loose.
None of this "significant period of service" nonsense, all or nothing, she has to swear fealty.

But why? She is not the kind of fey thats going to cause trouble down the line, she doesnt want lands, she is not the type to like conspiracies or work against us just for the hell of of it.
By the time her current contract ends, her story will be well linked to us, i think she will try to trick us into bribing her with something every few decades/century and to be fair thats not a bad deal.
Even is she wants to leave, she is smart enough not to cause trouble in our lands, i just dont see a reason why we should antagonize her just because she is powerful.

Anyway, is anyone opposed to the dual track progression for our officers? As in, a "Leader" and "Commamder" track, the first being Second Serjeant -> First Serjeant -> Second Lt -> First Lt, the second being Vice-Commander -> Commander -> Vice-Captain -> Captain.

That way, we reduce the necessary mobilization for full effectiveness from half a Company to half a Cohort. From a major operation to a nice, mobile, versatile force.

Because when she has orders she still goes off and does her own thing, I'd rather not empower her only to immediately let her off her leash to make more ill thought out decisions.

See Basilisk Isles.

Lack of Malice does not mean she can't fuck things up unknowingly (Uncaringly, would be more accurate to he nature.)

Can we get some more votes on Glyra's level up? We're almost caught up on our level up backlog?

If you have an issue with the plan, I'm open to suggestions.

It's been voted on, and he's had his level-up interlude. DP just hasn't updated his sheet yet. He's the only one out of that batch not updated yet actually.

Thats not going to change regardless of the nature of our contract, thats just Who she is.

I'm okay with moving from 3 officers to 4 officers. I am very, very much against a dual track officer program. From an organizational standpoint, it's poison.

Like, not only do you need to do weird things to keep the promotional lines working, but it's inviting systematic corruption into the legion. Who decides which officer candidates get to go into which track? Because at best they'll show favoritism for the candidates they like, who are similar to them, and come from a similar background to them, excluding perfectly good candidates because they're not "the right sort." At worst, they'll take outright bribes or favors.

Some of that is natural in any organization, but in a track system it becomes systemic very, very quickly, and much more easily resists correction.

You're misunderstanding me.

If she is given another term length contract now, by the end of it she will be at a point that her price for a new contract is beyond our ability or desire to pay.

DP has confirmed this will eventually happen through previous comments on what her contract price would be for certain terms, and terms received for certain prices etc.

E.g. What if we gave her the Queen Rhaella?
You'd get X years of service.

And comments on increasing cost of service after having grown under our banner.

This snowball effect of greater rewards giving her a greater name will result in her being free of our control, unable to mitigate her unreliability as we currently do through careful orders in locations of our choosing where she can do the least damage with unforseen (mis)interpretations of our orders.

She is currently leashed, does some annoying things but is ultimately tolerable and profitable.

Unleashed she does more things that are more annoying making her intolerable and non-profitable. I.e. A liability.

I think Grease is quite a bit better in nearly all ways than Web Bolt, interesting as that is.

@Diomedon our flamboyant Sorcerer persona we used in Pentos when we investigated Tor's manse, AKA Tiserys Vargaryen, the Most Interesting Man in the World, should offer his services in securing Free Cities securities against the Dread Sorcerer, Viserys Targaryen (no relation).
