[X] As a representative of the Grey Order, here to lend a hand where it can be of most use.
[X] As a wanderer, not entirely sure what you seek
[X] Regrowth - Ghyran, instantly restores someone to full health from any state up to and including 'recently dead'. -9 College Favours
[X] Nothing further was commissioned.

While lucky charm would be very in theme for a Ranaldite, I think that link of psyche would probably be my favourite pick (although I understand it could be decided by a dice roll or any other way) because it would give us a constant companion character for Mathilde.

Obviously, they've noticed that we already have the means to learn how to repeatedly raise people from the dead.

Admittedly, I thought there was more resistance to that idea, but who am I to complain?
Given the school, and shirt time limit, it seems more like Magical CPR and electric paddles.

I don't think we get to pick. It's random in RoS, anyway.

Cool.

[X] Boon of Hysh - Hysh, instantly heals all wounds, poisons and disease. -5 College Favours.

I inofficially call it "Plan Don't Become A Skaven". It helps us not to become a Skaven if a Grey Seer throws the Dreaded Thirteenth Spell at us. 2 Scrolls ain't enough to be liberal with them, but in a pinch, when a certain spell absolutely cannot be allowed to be completed they will be a lifesaver.

... If Wolf's grand reward in the afterlife is simply getting reincarnated as an actual wolf, using necromancy to chain his soul to the mortal world might genuinely be preferable. At least he'd avoid the fleas that way.

The only way I could see becoming our pet be a worthy reward is if Wolf held an age-long crush on Mathilde and this was Ranald's way of letting him be near her again.
Seeing as ranald's statue also came out as a wolf, i think it's more likely that Ranald is just using a wolf theme right now as his way of both showing respect and probably really confusing Ulric.

I'm rather astonished that we can even get such an item. Whatever the limitations of the recharge, it can be recharged. Normally you'd expect this kind of thing to be a one-use, super rare item with only a few in existence, and we can just ask to have one made just for us specifically. If it really works like it says on the tin, then there's no better choice on which to splurge all our college favors.

It's not quite 'just asking', It's burning all the favours earned from four different Orders from the Matrix and the Shyish swords, and all the goodwill from an incredibly impressive performance in your Exams, to get a Jade Order Battle Wizard to sit down with a Jade Order Enchanter for a few months.

That of itself could be invaluable for the Jade Order too, as a few months time for an artifact that can renew itself and could potentially last centuries would be very valuable to create for the Order and give it great influence.

No, it's regrowing the body, turning it back on, and sticking the soul back in if that needs doing. It does everything short of fetching the soul back, which is probably what's actually causing that time limit.
... So what you're saying is that all we'd need to revive Abelheim is to grab hold of his soul?

Okay, who here's ready to become the ultimate sneakwizard and steal from a God?

I'd rather have multiple full heals than one that requires special action to recharge. And it gives room for...

[X] Dispel Scrolls (2)
In case you didn't know, these are those things that save an army from being fucked when the enemy battle wizard does something really impressive. You want at least a pair of these for this campaign. I might go back and get four.

[X] As a researcher, here to investigate any strange and interesting phenomena that can be found.
Personal preference.

Yeeeeeeeees.

I expect the dwarves will almost certainly have their own chroniclers, and the dwarven chroniclers will almost certainly not imagine that the task could ever be handed off to a human. Dwarfs do the proper writing, and think it's cute that the humans want to write about it too. Maybe with twenty years of practice Mathilde's writings will even be of interest to someone other than humans. ;)

To be fair, Mathilde could claim that she has experience writing books for human consumption and argue that she can write about the campaign from a human point of view geared towards convincing humans of the righteousness of the Dawi cause.

She won't be near as meticulous or accurate as Dwarven Chroniclers, but instead write to the lower human denominator.

Would the Grey College or other people in the Colleges think that our burning of all our favors for this are the actions of somebody who was given the ability to do so too early? Or would they understand why we'd ask for something like this, given where we're going?

A newly minted Magister instantly using up all her hard earned good will to get a really fancy item seems like it might not leave the best impression of us.

It'd be good PR, but it wouldn't be their property once they handed it off.

Oh hey, that's my endgame too. Well, I want to steal Shallya and maybe her face liquids, but no reason we can't stick Van Hal on the shopping list.

They all require recharging. Even the fire crown requires recharging.

Skaven and goblin poisons oh my.

Tales of Arsanil was a bestseller but I've been reminded just how onerous being chronicler to Dawi can be.

Unless we go and lose it in a dwarfhold, which there is a non-insgnificant chance of.

We're not invincible, after all.

It would, but it's a rare time when those few months aren't needed on the battlefield more. The question of the forces of Order: can I please get five goddamn minutes so I can focus on building up just a little bit? The answer from the forces of Destruction: No.

Anything you do is Magisterial because you are a Magister. If they didn't think you were capable of making those decisions you'd still be a Journeywoman.

Edit: About the Chronicler bit. We were known as the one who did Asarnil's journeys. Maybe we could have our (hopefully) new dwarf buddy share about his dwarven history culminating with the retakin of the eight peaks.

I'm not a big fan of chronicler options. We're not Felix, we're here to get stuff done.
