Now that Solid Core has made it onto Goddess Grey's dayplanner we should think about how Solid Core should deal with her if/when she shows up.
I'm assuming we're bringing the Drives along because why not? This makes the fight similar to another fight that we've already seen the outcome of (when Goddess Grey killed one and scared the other two into hiding).
What do the Cores add to this fight? The three Drives have better damage and comparable weapons, and slightly worse spells. What the Core's weapons offer is range, all the Drives have strictly melee weapons. The Cores also have better options for groups (AoE, Moar Dakka) and more damaging spells.
On the downside, Uni doesn't have anywhere near the speed the rest of the group enjoys and really can't take hits well.
With everyone lined up a plan emerges. Have Juggernaut take point and when Grey tries to attack someone Intercept the attack to squish Grey. Juggernaut Drive even auto-casts her spell when Intercepting . That means even if the ~2 million damage she outputs doesn't reach The Blacksmith The Unstoppable Spear should still take care of her.
Sounds great right? Until you ask Alex how she died...
Trying to have Nepgear pull off the same trick (Intercept to get past Skill negations) will probably lead to the same results. We need a new plan.
Plan B is less than creative: If Goddess Grey can avoid dying to a paltry few million damage being thrown around maybe we need to add a few orders of magnitude to get our Intercepts to overwhelm her. This is actually quite hard to manage, there's about 6k EXP that needs to be spent to get Panzer Blade close to 100 million (lvl 39 - ~96 million damage with Beam Extention on). And recall that Juggernaut had a lot of damage boosting from the Drive's teamwork bonus and moving at really high speed.
This is a little bit impractical because of EXP expenditure alone, to say nothing about the attendant problems from having that much damage swinging around the rest of the time. And to make it worse it's probably closer to a 'mere' 15-20 times Juggernaut's damage instead of 40 times like the numbers would suggest. Which means the increase isn't quite high enough for me to feel confident in the splash damage of Solid Core, who is not as good as Juggernaut Drive at combat, actually catching Goddess Grey in an Intercept.
Plus Ichi doesn't need to worry about the Spear when dealing with Solid Core...
Plan C: Use spells.
Why didn't I put this first? Firstly, the Drives have decent enough spells for facing a single target. Especially Juggernaut Drive. Secondly, you can hardly gather a half-dozen Magical Girls without finding on that has a spell that should disable or otherwise kill a single target. Putting these together has led me to believe that Goddess Grey has something that keeps her from needing to worry about spells ruining her day.
Bother justinkai if you want spell-based plans, I think those ideas are dead as soon as you start making ideas around any spell effects.
Plan D (Requires Goddess White): Outlast her.
(Alternate title - Achievement Unlocked: This Is Stupid )
There's a fun little interactions between Armor of the Time Lord and the Divinities' Frame/Core armor: If something does a small amount of damage relative to Health the Frame/Core armor blocks it, if something does a large amount of damage relative to Health Goddess White's Ability blocks it.
Add in Solid Sisters getting more Health every turn which increases how hard you need to hit them to do any damage at all for bonus fun. Thirty minutes charging up next to San will bring Solid Core up to 726,000 Health, assuming 6 turns per minute, with INDESTRUCTIBLE CORE blocking any attack that hits for less than 718,740 damage.
Goddess White can now withdraw and Solid Core can just keep fighting Goddess Grey until Ichi gets tired of the whole thing. Bonus points for playing Benny Hill music at this point.
This does assume Grey can't whip out millions of damage a turn via swording. And that we can keep Goddess White from getting incapacitated long enough to charge the generators to a stupid level. But what's an amusing plan without risks? If you want to live extra dangerously you can add in Core Purge when Goddess Grey starts to get sick of the battle where no one can actually hurt the others.
Any other ideas from the thread? I put this together based on some chatting on Discord and wanted some more eyes/ideas on the subject.
For reference, the first idea I've had for this was that on one of our major missions we get Sumire Saber as an ally. She has an Undodgable spell. That means it can be neither negated by Unmatched Skill nor dodged.
Apparently that doesn't work though, even if she somehow got a gigantic damage buff from Grey Champion.
I think we may want to bait grey out. any mission she crashes is likely going to be scrubbed, so she's a 30% failure chance for missions we don't want to fail. but if we have goddess gold hide nearby for a few missions, we may be able to draw her out and capture her. we'd still need to put together a force that can hold her while the seal is broken though.
keep in mind, we turn grey and Red may turn on the UD because she'd have no reason not to with all 3 of her sisters either neutral or working for the UL. Depending on how the seals work she could take most of the dark MG's with her when she jumps ship.

No, the reason she's with the UD is because she believes that its 100% impossible for the UL to win the war. Turning her requires convincing her that it is possible for the UL to win the war.

she doesn't care about the UL or the UD. she just wants to keep her sisters alive. With three of her sisters turning against the UD she might jump ship. Or if nothing else it would sure as hell look like she might jump ship to the paranoid UD.
Finally caught up! Took forever...
Here's my choice:
[X] Search the town together. If you run into Red Knight together, Kat might be able to keep things from coming to blows.

How about we... not try to kill the girl Rei asked us to save?
As long as we do not actually have more of Ichi's sheet, trying to plan ahead for her is basically useless. There is too much we do not know.
Personally, I am in the group that believes fighting Goddess Grey at any point and with any number of allies is going to end up with all of us dead.
So far, the best strategy I have found is to try getting her to talk; if Nepgear calls out to Ichi and asks her to stop for a minute and talk to her (as a last wish, so to speak), she might just do it. Then we only need to stall long enough for Gabriel's Presence of Light to burn out her Seal.
This plan, in difference to what else I saw proposed so far, has only two avenues of failure.
1) Presence of Light does not work on Ichi
2) Ichi does not talk to us
If only 2) is the case, we can still try to just survive ten turns (or less, if Gabriel increased its level). If only 1) is the case, we can still stall and hope for Rei to make it in time because our operator ought to inform her the moment she has Goddess Grey on-screen.
It is not even unlikely for Ichi to actually take aside a minute for this; she knows how strong she is. If an opponent stops her to just ask for a pleasant conversation before the battle actually starts, she might go for it to honour a strong opponent's last wish.
It was brought up before, but Lost responded by getting angry that we would want to get "a cheat code for a later boss".
Not that it changes all that much because we would have her sheet by the time the fight starts anyway, but apparently this is frowned upon.
Meh, Ni will bring her back. Of all the people we could kill Ichi is the one Goddess Red is likely to actually care enough to revive quickly. And trying to pull punches sounds like a good way to get killed which would lead to a dead Goddess Grey anyway from Core Breach.
As for trying to stall out for Presence of Light to work, I expect Goddess Grey is seasoned enough to notice and will consider an active damaging aura grounds to stop talking. You're asking for the enemy to join you in this harmless pit of nerve gas and assuring them that the chemsuits you're wearing are just for show, it's fine. More of something to match with a plan to delay the fight.
I believe with smart tactics we could fight Ichi and still get away alive. A lot of our team has flying and if we throw around enough deadly effects she'll (hopefully) have to stay on her toes to avoid most of it, giving our group precious time to breathe and back away.
Might you have forgotten about Gehaburn?
Even though they are fighting, Nepgear knows that Ichi is actually a friend she just has to save yet. It will trigger and gobble up Ichi's soul in the unlikely case that we win with a lethal strategy.
That aside, I think Ichi can separate a damaging Presence being there and one actually going to town on her. Angels can not really turn that thing off, so she is unlikely to take offense for as long as it does not target her directly.

She is, however, Rei's beloved sister.
Ugh... @Crystalwatcher would you mind clarifying this one? Would Gehaburn activate in the unlikely case we managed to kill Ichi?
There's a fun little interactions between Armor of the Time Lord and the Divinities' Frame/Core armor: If something does a small amount of damage relative to Health the Frame/Core armor blocks it, if something does a large amount of damage relative to Health Goddess White's Ability blocks it.
Armor of the Time Lord
-If Goddess White, or an ally would take more than 25% of their max Health from a single attack, cancel the attack. Does not stop surprise attacks.
NDESTRUCTABLE CORE
Level 25
-The ultimate CORE frame. Once per turn if Nepgear would be killed, instead reduce her Health to 1. Nepgear is also immune to damage over time effects, as well as any form of mental pollution or mind control. In order for Nepgear to receive damage, the damage must exceed 99% of her total health. If this threshold is surpassed, reduce the incoming damage by 99%. Frame is capable of surviving CORE BREACH.
The weakest part of it's defenses starts at: "In order for Nepgear to receive damage, the damage must exceed 99% of her total health." This part of Indestructible Core reveals itself as a skin-tight barrier that stops along the outer edges of her top-most skin cells. (In Effect: she can shave, but that's about it. Getting a good tan is a bitch.) This portion can be bypassed by the abilities: Unstoppable, Supremacy, and Total Devastation.
Which is a pretty serious problem since Grey is an EMIYA clone so odds are she can just swap to a weapon with the right Ability. You might ask how would she know which Ability to use and the answer is going for Unstoppable or Supremacy is always the right move since they bypass almost all defenses.
This also doesn't factor in what, if any, Abilities can bypass Armor of the Time Lord.
That being said we might still be able to play the endurance game depending upon what counts for Armor of the Time Lord. If it triggers on Final End Damage then it's not that helpful for us since even with Segarite Core all Grey would need to do is hit us four or five times per Turn to quickly take us down. Assuming she can spam attacks that can hit for 300,000 Damage anyway. If she can't do that it we don't even need Goddess White in the first place.
If Armor of the Time Lord triggers on attack's initial Damage then with ICORE we're pretty safe since any attack greater then 1,500 Damage is no-sold and it would take six hundred of such attacks per Turn just to keep up with Nepgear's regeneration.
Generally, one should not just assume that something like Gehaburn will not trigger for [include reason here], especially on a target with a priority as high as Ichi's. There are as many reasons for it to activate, so that would only spawn an endless discussion.
