I do not get why the snake started thrashing. I just don't. I mean... Why? I don't think this dude is gonna be someone we can work with

[] "For fucks sake, stop thrashing about. Chances are, we can help you return home without breaking the place. What is home to you (planar speaking) and where can we see the bindings Tor placed to keep you in this world?"
-[]While investigating that, also try to find out what sort of being this is.

Pretty much. I don't want someone who randomly acts on what he's forseen and doesn't bother telling us why.

Let's just tell him about Yss so that hopefully encourages him to stay long enough to ask him questions.

I'm kind of annoyed it hasn't already been done. We voted on it already.
Ah, but if we precommit to hunting it down and making it suffer it should decide to cooperate with us, right? Especially if we also precommit to helping it if it helps us.
That would only successfully get us an enemy. It would never cooperate after that. Unless you're aiming to get a nifty sacrifice, in which case I of all people won't stop you.

We were then reassured that it wouldn't run away since it was bound, making us assume we'd have time to speak with it at our leisure, but then we get this.
Well lets just attempt to fix this.

[X] Tell the spirit about Yss and the possibility of meeting him as long as he doesn't run off.
-[X] Gesture to Vee's belt to prove we are telling the truth.

I don't get it, Viserys is blaming himself for the trap?
no hes disagreeing with malarys' position that these two have no legitimate grievance with us. viserys thinks they do because we smashed up their wrists with no warning, malarys thinks they don't because we never said we werent going to smash their wrists, and honestly they should have expected us to smash their wrists in the first place anyway.

[X] "Calm yourself! We fully intend to free you now that the safety of Tor's more fragile captives has been assured."
-[X] Ask the serpent if it knows how to breaks it's binding without destroying the house, as we are still quite interested in what it might contain.
--[X] If it does, begin making preparations to do so while inquiring into it's nature and goals. Mention Yss, our allied serpent deity, and the productive relationship we currently enjoy.
--[X] If it does not, ask questions and talk, as detailed above, while we continue to explore the house, if the serpent's bindings do not prevent such movement.
-[X] In the privacy of our thoughts, firmly commit to hunting and destroying the serpent if it continues to struggle and causes the house to collapse upon us. If the serpent's divinatory powers match it's claims, it should understand the seriousness of testing us on this matter.

If we lose the house bevause this bitch-snake, or if it runs away, I'm going to fucking drown it in salt, before serving it to Yss/OG's as a sacrifice.

EDIT:

I mean, it did tells us its reasoning when we asked.

It boiled down to "you would have been fine because you would teleport out unharmed", which means it isn't out to actively spite us.

It would be bad if we try to take it adventuring or something, because the snake clearly relies too much on precog, but I think the calls of joy for turning it into loot are far too premature.

No that's complete bs. They should be very grateful to us.

They were literally under magical slavery. That it hurts a bit to break their chains is inconsequential.

We saved them from slavery and death both.

@Goldfish - can you add in free to return home rather than just let it be assumed "free to be a dick on Planetos"?

[X] Goldfish

Also, Lya and Viserys are still under the curse of that Urn. Really want to find that.
Edit: Totally agree with TNE on the "grievance" thing. Eh, we can turn them into starfish for a week.

It hasn't bothered telling us why it suddenly decided to destroy the house. So what if we can teleport out? That's still not giving us a single reason why it decided to randomly flail around. Is there a time limit for the wards? Is there something it's trying to avoid? We don't know, it didn't bother saying anything. I'm getting less sympathetic towards it by the second, so if it persists and doesn't explain itself I will happily see it turned into loot.

TLDR: Saying "don't worry, you'll survive" is not an explanation.

@Goldfish
Why are you randomly tgreatening the snake?
Keep calm, it's a potential ally and can help us ensure Tor's permadeath.
I think you where too dismissive of the idea, Clones are outside his reach, but Phylacterys aren't, for example.

No threats are being made against the snake. The last part of my vote is Viserys' inner thoughts. I'll clarify that somewhat.
