I'm thinking we be careful about any creative accounting, we can probably get away with getting more land to sell but 'vanishing' our debt and 'raiding the coffers' are both quite likely to be more risky than worth it.

We should of course take the new Magic Fog O War training.

@BoneyM
So you are saying our puppet master was Van and the messenger his hunter buddies?
No, he was under the same folks we were, but he investigated them better, and got a big list of them. Right side seems to be who the blackmailed person is, and I'd bet that the left side is who in the super secret organization is personally pulling our strings.

Honestly I feel like now is the time really start clearing the backlog in research projects, while I voted to remain in Stirland I'm not that fixated on maintaining our position as Soymaster or trying to gain more influence in Stirland?

Not a plan yet, let's take some time to think. The ones that stand out to me right now...

[ ] Abelhelm left you with a list of notarized names. Pass them on to your Master and let the fireworks fly. (does not take an action)
Yay, we can make something someone else's problem! Or perhaps someone else's barrel of monkeys and chaos. We have enough on our plate.

[ ] It may be a moot point, but you can still send off the entirety of information gathered on undead types in Sylvania to your string-pullers. (does not take an action)
This information shouldn't go to waste.

[ ] Concentrate the gathered information on undead types in Sylvania into a single dense tome and publish it. It's likely to be of some use and interest to Morrites and Amethyst Wizards. Not ground-breaking, but a nice feather in your academic cap nonetheless.
@BoneyM , will this still be available later turns if we've sent off information to string-pullers? Are there relevant publishing norms?

---

[ ] Though the Haunted Hills have always technically belonged to the Elector Count, they've suddenly skyrocketed in value. If you could backdate some purchases from the Elector Count, you could make a killing reselling them, and still retain your own slice of prime grazelands.
This strikes me as the easiest big embezzlement to get away with, and the one fewest people will think to question. Obviously the second-in-command of the Purge would have gotten an opportunity on some of the land Purged, right? The others involve meddling with important other people's documents (including living people) or going at a Province Treasury.

[ ] Practice, Practice, Practice
No time like the present to do this for Martial.

[ ] Your experience with the so-called Fog of War has given you a lot of ideas for new applications of Ulgu. (NEW)
Magisterhood and prestigious original research beckons!

[ ] Stirland Watch: Work alongside Jack to administer the Watch. Choose another Organizational Action for the Watch.
Probably want to have to do this once or twice with everything the Watch can do now (faith, dwarves, expansion)

[ ] Financial Jargon: Everything with the EIC flew right over your head last time. Try again. Succeeding here will mean that you can take a more active hand in the company, adding it to the organizational actions; failing or not attempting means Mathilde will remain a silent partner.
And look into this, as the EIC is now the big thing in Stirland as the League was before it.

so many optioooooooons
I am in favour of overwork right now

It'll still be available but the longer passes the less attention it will garner. Not sure what you're after re: publishing norms.

[X] Watch-Plan Playing it safe
-[X] Trade Delegation: Convince Wilhelmina to partner your network with the EIC based on the value of market information. Especially likely to work since Wilhelmina will soon be losing her position of power in Stirland's government. (NEW-ish)
-[X] Verena is the Goddess of Justice. Enshrine her as the patron goddess of the Stirland Watch.

We need decent admins before trying to make fat money, so I'm delaying the Salpeter-action to get them first.
Damn, we need the god-action first, only one free watch-option.
And Verena is the safest bet here. The Stirlandians will hate every change-option, but it's propably the least offensive to them.

[X] Personal Plan Self-Focus
-[X] As above, but insist on being a part of whatever happens.

I'm not willing to invest much effort in Stirland now, so this is mostly about Weber herself.
Breaking our invisible chains, learning from the campaign and making some sweet money.
The Liber Mortis will still be there next year, no need to be hasty.

Stirland Watch faith - can be chosen INSTEAD of a selection from the above, penalty to any Watch actions Mathilde takes unless/until one is taken. Sigmarism must be driven out. (NEW)
[ ] Verena is the Goddess of Justice. Enshrine her as the patron goddess of the Stirland Watch.
[ ] Shallya is the Goddess of Mercy. An odd choice for the Watch, but it would ensure that they remember their duty to the common people.
[ ] Ranald is the God of Thieves, yes, but he's also the God of protecting the common folk. It's worth a shot, right?
[ ] Seppel is the Minor God of Vengeance, popular in Stirland. Vengeance is sort of like justice.
[ ] Grungni, the principal Dwarf Ancestor God, actually has some following among the Stirlandian populace - and he is their Lawgiver to boot. Bring in a few priests to make it happen. (-1 Dwarf Favour)
Since we're now anti-Sigmarite enough that it's having serious effects, this is something we should probably think on carefully and move on sooner rather than later- particularly if we want to push the Watch as our powerbase moving forward. Some significant considerations here:
  • Verena is a well-respected goddess and is patron of both justice and learning- sounds great, right? She's even one of the most popular goddesses among more religious wizards. But she's also anti-Ranald; not violently opposed but certainly not in favor in a much more active way than the rest of the pantheon. I don't think it would be wise to hand the Watch over to a rival of our patron.
  • Shallya is about mercy and healing, which are nice but lacks appeal to martial types, so I suspect that if we push this we'll just fail.
  • Ranald has a Protector aspect, yes- and that's the one that is most violently suppressed because it organizes revolts against the government when people are unhappy. While it would be a stunning coup to pull this off it's also likely to trigger immediate negative reactions from anyone in power who hears about it- because it means that the Watch will be a ready-made revolutionary army for the next demagogue to roll around.
  • Seppel is completely unknown to me and I have no comment on that except that vengeance is not really like justice at all and a Watch which worships a vengeance god is likely to be disturbingly brutal.
  • Grungni is a little weird as a choice but he apparently actually is worshiped by humans in Stirland already, should be unobjectionable to even the cult of Sigmar because he's a closely allied god, and also has a lot to do with mining and underground work- how appropriate for a Watch that we have working the underground and possibly fighting skaven later. He's also a directly martial god which will appeal to former-soldier Watchmen.
Overall, it hurts to spend a point of favor on something like this but of the available options Grungni seems like the best balance of expected success and low risk. I'd be interested in hearing others' opinions- Verena would probably be my fallback unless we're willing to seriously gamble on having our religious leanings blown wide open by going full Ranald.

Am I missing a reference? Should Mathilde/I know who(?) H-BM is?

GW M. Regimand Speiseschrank, H-BM
GW D. Mathilde Weber, H-BM
C. Gabriella v. Bundebad. vC(?)

And for all the get rich quick temptations- we're a Grey Wizard, with sworn and enforced oaths against doing that (albeit oaths with loopholes). I just don't think we should go wild on personal enrichment.

- When the new Elector Count begins, the state of the watch's budget will be the New Normal, effectively resetting Budget Points to 0. Now might be the time to start spending relentlessly.
- There would be a great many financial opportunities open to you right now if you were a non-silent partner in the EIC. Might want to consider Financial Jargon.
- There are a
lot of time-sensitive opportunities you could jump on during this power vacuum, if you're so inclined. Now might be the ideal time for overwork.

Please don't overlook this, everyone. Now's the time to set things up to our best advantage as much as possible. Personal training actions can wait, and anything we can do to influence who the next Elector Count and/or Advisors will be is worth doing.

Edit: Most actions. We probably want to do the practice action for diplomacy and maybe martial soon, right?

I like the plan but I think we can hold off on training martial this turn, we did just get another trait that boosts it.

I believe we have one turns grace on capitalising on experience with training.

No. I'm guessing that vC might be a note for "vampire Count" and H-BM might be "Has Blackmail" so maybe the L is "Leverage" as part of a list of ways to pressure people.
Weird capitalisation then. I assumed initials, because vC says von Carstein to me.

von carstein, i think, but thats really good i couldnt figure the other two out for the life of me

Tank the Sigmar penalty for a turn to get the expensive part of saltpeter manufacture out of the way.
Deal with our secret master, talk with all the rest of the council (except Gustav, who isn't as important politically), deal with our debt, and prep for the elector's meet.
We should really read the Libre Mortis and look into the high magic juice.
Whatever we do, can we finally train enchantment? Seeing that talent go unused has been bugging me since the beginning.

This is a terrible turn for that. Way too many oppertunities right now.

I would suggest we spend 1 action each to buddy up with Stewardship and Dipo advisor while doing creative accounting. Having more resources at our disposal makes the new Count less willing to make groundbreaking change in the court. Chaplain and General might be GG tho.

I'm guessing "Human - Blackmail". As opposed to "von Carstien" or "vampire c-something", because that's self-evidently blackmail and needs no further notation.

Basically as much as I would love to do some research, this isn't the time and I'd rather we deal with the remaining fallout of the campaign. First we deal with our backers, with divine blessing, to find out what the hell the Amethysts were up to so we can head off any fallout from that and finally a bit of embezzling and talking to a friend.

If this is true, beginning to get a nasty idea that our handlers aren't technically human any more. Or alive. Say... an highly embedded Von Carstein scouting out the opposition to their 'rightful claims' in Stirland and Sylvania.

However, I'm not convinced that H-BM is the capitalisation for Human-BlackMail.
