What the heck happened to the Stirland army?
Got a few theories:
-Morale critical failure - This seems unlikely. They saw their Elector and the Knight of Dusk carving through the undead like they're made of paper.

-Unexpected resistance - This is possible, if the humans we overwhelmed on the gates turned out to be sleeper agents like the servants(this near Drakenhof they could probably afford to deadman their whole military), their corpses or the surrendered would have activated after some delay and the army and our Greatswords were suddenly assaulted by super strong pseudoghouls.

-Incompetence/Sabotage - Someone in the line of leadership got their directions wrong and so they scattered instead of marched.

[X] Somewhere in that town-turned-battlefield is Brother Kasmir. Leave Van Hal's side. Find him. Sigmar will heal Van Hal.

Using Dhar directly is literally worse for us than necromancy, the whole point of necromancy is that it uses Shysh to shield the user from the effects of Dhar.

Oh hey, I started a trend in the voting.

I mean it's entirely due to people who argued it, but still. Feels nice.

[X] By Van Hal's side. Whatever happens.

As painful as it is, sometimes the best thing to do in times of tragedy is to wait. While it would be a good story of Mathilde riding into a town in the midst of a battle and finding Kasmir to heal the Elector Count, she is badly wounded. That makes things much more dangerous for her, possibly to the point of fatal. Also, I'm paranoid about assassins or backstabs, and until there is confirmation that somebody other than nebulous guards, i.e. Markus and the Greatswords, is around to protect Van Hal, we serve as his last line of defense. Running off for whatever reason may leave him vulnerable. And that's not a risk I want to take.

We are the only spymaster on our side of this battle; if any spies or assassins get through, then it's our direct responsibility to notice and deal with them.

Also a vampire can bury a lot of surprise skeletons by the gates and reanimate them in the middle of an assault.

So on a side note @BoneyM if we eventually do have a child would it be possible for us to turn our Noble House into the sort of thing that raises it's members to become bodyguards and agents of the Count of Stirland?

Ok, I hate to say this, but it has to be said: Going to the Light Mages was a mistake. First, the other colleges would have sent an actual Battle Mage instead of a Magister. Second, they could have sent more than one mage. Thirdly, more destructive capability isn't always helpful. As stated in the update, if we had sent for Jade Wizards, this wouldn't be a problem right now. The plan had an overwhelming majority of votes, and it is not turning our well for us.
All the recriminations about not getting Jade wizards... bu I checked Realm of Sorcery, and they don't have wound-healing spells that work on others in the RPG supplement. Disease healing, and self-healing, yes. For wizards healing wounds, it seems Light is what you want.

I don't think Knight is an inheritable title, so we'd not be forming a noble house just yet.

Or a big, nasty necromancy Terror spell (cast from behind us?) or a terrifying monster.
