1. Too many unknowns to guess for the first question, though piling sacrifices for the Lys tree is quite likely to massively empower it.
  2. He already has adepts, getting clerics is justa matter of finding someone with sufficient affinity and skill and swear him/herself to Yss' service
1. Yes, but we're already talking about binding a Landwarden--a nascent god--to a Heart Tree. Isn't more just overkill at this point? What kind of speculation are we talking about with "massively empowering" it? But eh. Even without the clerics we're going to have overkill anyway, so moot point.
2. Wait, that was the only issue? Well shit. We could have helped with that. We thought he lacked in power, not that he didn't have the right candidates.

And @DragonParadox, one last question. There has been some paranoia that if we don't perma-kill these clerics via feeding them to Yss, then Tiamat will just bring them back to use against us again. What are the chances of this happening? Is there any way we can get the Old Gods to eat the cleric's souls this time?

@DragonParadox Completely unrelated, but reading through earlier posts made me think: Richard seems to favor darker drinks, particularly Stormlander ones. I'm guessing his favorite place to wind down is now the Golden Hearth?

Though to be fair, that's probably everyone's favorite tavern in the city now.

I think that their souls are going back to Taimat (unless they choose otherwise, (maybe?)) but any invisture of power that she game them is eaten by the OG, as is any power that they wield on their own merits.

So, weather or not Tiamat gets them, they're relatively worthless to her. She could bring them back, but they'd be level 1, I think. - A better use of her attention/power (same thing?) would be to use one of her demons to get a couple of spellcasters elsewhere to become her slaves, even level 2-5 spellcasters would be worth more than bringing back the tools that failed her.

@DragonParadox is this how sacrificing people to the OG works? They strip away the HD/Class levels/Power and let the soul do it's own thing?

Oh, and with regard to the Dany-Tiamat Clerics situation; I was all for offering to take them to Braavos in a bottle and letting them make a deal with the Orphene, until the apocalypse plots were found. That shit is just... super uncool. :(.

Which, is probably why Tiamat had them spend the effort to do so, so that if captured and interrogated, the Clerics would not be able to ask for help from us, and as such, Tiamat would have them fully due to lack of other options.

Unless they wanna swear to not!Asmodeus, I suppose.

  1. Dany guesses it's possible, if Tiamat can restrain her rage at their failures.
  2. Not really no, for the Old Gods eating a soul means adding it to the collective. They understandably do not want servants of Tiamat in their midst.

Sure, but they can die free of the Dark Queen.
That would lessen their values as sacrifices greatly. They'd renounce Tiamat, lose their magic, and then what? We're not keeping them, but they dropped in value of being sacrifices by a lot. Also, if we end up not sacrificing them to Yss, a big consolation for me would be that they go straight to Tiamat's maw.

Hmmm...
1. So possible but unlikely. Okay, less of a firm answer than I would have liked. I want the clerics fed to Yss just in case. I hate loose ends like that. The Dark Queen is a cunning foe, not simply a mindless beast.
2. Wait. @DragonParadox, are they going to eat the Landwarden? Is that how they get it to join the collective?
At this rate it would be easier to just sell them to Baator.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Speaking of Baator, I really want to go visit at some point for a sacrifice run. Baleful Polymorphs and Smoky Confinements for all the sacrifices!

I wish we hadn't been forced to give up the demon sword. :( That would have been a perfect candidate for the Day of Change ritual.

Would have been interesting to feed it to Yss, since it stored the souls of several enemies that we fought. Would be interested if Lya could created something like that to prevent others from resurrecting them. Only spell that I could find from Pathfinder to capture souls outside of the level 8 Trap the Soul spell was Create soul gem but, it only lasts for 1 day per level.

A fallen Cleric still has his levels and should even keep prepared spells.

Only preparing new ones becomes impossible.

-[X] "however i have little doubt that one day you will make a fine lord, i am proud to see you come so far, and will gladly trust you to care after any city or keep you desire, and should we not find any to your liking, well, what is magic for if not to shape the world to what we think It should be?"
[X] Offer to teach him what you know of ruling and administration, by having him apprentice under you as you fulfill your duties to the kingdom.
