It would be worse than useless in line infantry units. It would be loot for someone else. :rage:

Regarding Danelle, I appreciate what @Duesal is saying about staying the hell away: the Maiden is our enemy. @065tdsa, @mrsean22 and @tarrangar do have a point in that Danelle could be sympathetic toward our actual conduct.

Perhaps covert support would be useful? Viserys and co meeting with Danelle directly might raise her hackles and precipitate a conflict simply from battle-lines already drawn. But if we send baby adventurers to liaise and provide support, the door could be kept open. In time, Danelle would be organically exposed to the gentler perspectives of Viserys' rule as opposed to what the Faith is doing, ideally to the point where she could no longer justify striking against us.

That would give our baby adventurers some good training, too, and reduce our need to micromanage. We already know Danelle won't refuse help if it's sincere and results in better outcomes for the common man. We should leverage that.

You want an overwhelming message of who's the right horse to back that even a champion of the Maiden can get behind?

Donate to her Houses of Respite in a blisteringly obvious manner. When someone comes to tear them down out of spite, defend them.

[X] Only the Basics: 300.000 lb of Common Iron

We have a Legion and the Nights Watch to supply. We have a Cold Iron mace from back in Braavos and never used it.

Maybe because it is one measly mace, and we cant very well do much with it.

Ofcourse I did suggest after Mantarys we make 4 rapiers out of it and hand them out to Moonsong et al.

Not sure why we didnt do that. Or even make longswords, could have equipped Gerold and lieutenants.

Edit: By the same logic we shouldnt trade for anything which we hold in reserve / havnt gotten to applying yet.

You're not gonna get ores cheaper than you would on Earth, short of going and mining it yourself. Which... debatable. You'd have to use a lot of magic to do it safely, and that can get expensive. Time = Money. And we're a point where our time can quite literally make us money incidentally rather than intentionally.

I want that Cold Iron, but this is something that we don't need right now that we can just buy later compared to the Iron which we need right this second.

@DragonParadox stated that we would have anywhere from 2000-2500 Legionaries to equip by the time we were ready to take Tyrosh.

Even if 200,000 Ibs of steel would equip the lowest number of soldiers we could end up with, we might end up having around 500 under equipped. We could probably have more funneled in by drawing mercenaries unattached to huge free companies into their ranks. We still can't ever have enough of it at this point in time.

And in addition to that, we have a commitment to equip the Night's Watch with high quality armor, while maintaining production for our Legion.

We want to do both at the same time? Then get more of the iron.
