I was just writing a post to ask if that would work. My weakness of understanding all of the D&D spell stuff a little. Do we have an alternate way of grabbing everyone's attention? Fireball into the sky, followed by pyrotechnics to turn it into fireworks?

Edit: How high are we willing to go with the reward? Years pay for not looting? Half a years pay?

I think I'll describe it as "half-again as much as their contract cost, given in coin, to be divided up according to their share." Part of their contract is covering costs, but this is pure profit to them, so it should actually be a bit more than 6-months pay for each soldier, probably close to what they actually receive in coin in a year.

Why are announcing that we're conquering a city already?

We don't want Tyrosh to become more alert and desperate enough for cultists to summon more demons... Or rakshasa or daemons for that matter.

Why not mislead them for a bit about being guards for the upcoming festival?

I don't think anyone would think over 3000 sellswords hired for a full years time are needed to guard a festival.

But the ruse has two layers. The Tyroshi really would like to believe that we're going to invade Westeros and stop being their problem. They can get together with Lys and Myr and stab us in the back while we're distracted, and the Stepstones will go back to how they like it. So maybe, just maybe, the city we're talking about is King's Landing.

The other half is our timeline. No one knows when we intend to invade, and every indication is we're not ready yet and that it is closer to half a year away. Our native troops don't have much beyond training weapons and armor yet, our sellswords don't even have accommodations up yet, nor have they been drilled at all or told what the plan is (so spies will all hear "not ready yet." With Azel's anti-divination plan, if they try divination it'll return "not invading yet").

All signs will point towards them having 6-9 months to prepare, which is enough time for them to not start panicking immediately.

Fireball works, but so does HHD form! :cool:

Even better news: he finally bonds with the Fleshraker at this level!

@Goldfish for his to level 2 spells: Swift Haste and Hunter's Mercy.

Alternatively, Camouflage, Mass or Briar's Web and Nature's Favour.

He will also be very happy to be able to cast Cerulean Sign.

I'll take your word on some of those, but I really think he should have Cat's Grace as a prepared spell. With his Dexterity going to 16 this level, the spell will push him to 20. That's good stuff.

He already has Hunter's Mercy prepared as a 1st level spell. Do you mean to prepare another Hunter's Mercy in a 2nd level spell slot?

EDIT: BTW, I didn't think Mystic Rangers could bond with an Animal Companion?

Wild Cohort. It's a bit of an arrangement, his has Mystic Ranger casting on the normal ranger chassis. Because DP really pitied Rangers. He essentially paid Wild Cohort and hie normal animal companion feature to get Share Spells on his Fleshraker. He needs to be level 4 for a Fleshraker anyway, so he was bonding with it till now.

For example, he already has the Shadow Sword substitution for his Endurance feat.

Hunter's Mercy is different from Hunter's Eye. Gives him 1d6/3 CL of sneak attack, goes very well with haste. But hm, maybe just Haste and wait till level 6 for Mercy. Self haste as swift action is great. Or just Nasture's Favour.

Has DP actually agreed to that, though? Those mechanical properties might only be shared by Valyrian Dragon bone, which could be quite different from traditional D&D Dragon bone.

If so, @DragonParadox, can you give us the Range Increments for Goldenheart and Dragonbone bows?

A regular D&D longbow has a 100 foot range increment, with composite longbows having 110 feet per increment. Given the special nature of the Goldenheart longbows, and the above average strength needed to use them properly (much like a composite longbow), it would be reasonable to assume they have an increment of at least 120 feet. If Dragonbone is superior to even that, the increment should be 130+ feet.
 
Something we should make for Theon's pet: Reinforced Segmented Spiked Mithral Breastplate Barding. Might as well make it +1 from magesmiths.

And a collar with +1 STR and DEX.
