I had to badger you quite a bit about it, but aren't you glad that Lya is currently finishing that very same fountain of steel? ;)

I don't think I was ever against the smelter? I think I might have questioned the necessity of the control ring at first, though.

You wanted to push it back a month due to time constraints. I was only referring to the timing and didn't mean to imply you where against the concept as a whole.

By the way, @DragonParadox, I managed to find the picture again that made me strongly think of Lya.

[X] Thank Lord Commander Mormont, see your party settled, leave Ser Richard with Rhaella, invite the LC to the Kings Tower as he likely has many questions, and we then have a lot of business to discuss. Might as well make ourselves comfortable.

@Duesal @all

Rather than spend party member time (and patience with morons), why not craft at least one healing belt for each fort in the watch and drop it off with some of the other things we can give quickly - explain limits and such, but also maybe ask party with cure disease to give people who need it a once over if it wouldn't take too long?

We shouldn't go to King's area if only cause we are not technically king yet and don't want to get the Watch in any more trouble than they will already.

Let's go to Lord commanders office if possible.

We are king. We're King in the Stepstones.

Belt of Healing for the elite rangers like Benjen and such. And Amulets of PfE when we can spare them since apparently they're regularly being possessed by ghosts.

Maybe ask if she would prefer to come or spend time with Richard rather than just assume via message?

A mage who does not speak... Well it's easy to make people beleive it is because it is a dangrous thing (like the Thumm from Skyrim)

I mean to heal old injuries over time, just give them a belt rather than spend party member time.

Ah, in that case this is party member time well spent. We want the Night's Watch in top shape and a belt won't cure disease, this will be fantastic PR, and we're going to need Vee and Lya here anyway both for the teleport spots and to help ferry the Children of the Forest back home (and so Lya can look at the library with us).

It's interesting that things like gut-wounds and such that would normally put someone beyond the care of all but the best Maesters won't be a problem.

Just for the ability to auto-stabilize three people a day, on top of a decent bit of healing, it's worth it.

Yeah, I was putting off doing more work on the legion stuff, since I figured we'd have ~500 by Tyrosh, maybe 1000 if it went really well. With 2000-2500 I should get to it.

Also, with that level of expansion, it's clearly going to outstrip our mage production, so we'll need to add a spear option (even if it's usually carried by the squad mule) to counter cavalry (not necessarily for Tyrosh, but going forward).

Would it be possible to use pikes, halberds or billhooks instead of spears?

The idea was always to have a mule per squad.

Feel free to PM me if you want a second opinion or some help. I'm quite hyped for this.

No. She wouldn't, and we need someone guarding her.

And her disguise is paper-thing, she can't speak.

Actually...wouldn't it be easier on us to have our business meeting in the Lord Commander's office, with what senior officers he has available, and keep Rhaella in the tower with most of the CotF and Ser Richard?

Would it be possible to use pikes, halberds or billhooks instead of spears?

It needs to be one handed, due to their shields, but I was just referring to a general class of weapons. I'll check out the weapon options in a minute.

I'm adding the spear bit, not the mule bit. The mule bit is already there. :p

I would strongly advocate halberds, since getting enough high-quality steel is a non-issue for us and they are the most versatile option. Furthermore, you can have the third row shoulder their shields and let them hack away at the enemy while the two rows in front of them hold the line.
