I'm sorry, forget the mushy stuff, Paul has had the ability to build matter replicators for how long now?! Has this come up and I've just missed it?

At a guess, he hasn't done so because he doesn't need one personally while he has the ring, and apart from one Bleed Torsion Generator installed as a demonstration in New York, he's not handing out alien tech to humans who can't build their own yet because he doesn't want everyone becoming reliant on himself or on alien markets (and doesn't want to spend his life being an on-call repair guy every time some alien gizmo breaks down). He does want Earth-sourced supertech to be studied, dissected, and replicated far better than it's been to date, because this will clear some of the planet's technological logjam. It also seems likely that he wants to tweak society so that its response to someone inventing supertech isn't to deride or sandbag their work, but to encourage and support it even if OL isn't personally there chivvying them along.

Why is Giovanni Zatara off the justice league roster again? If it was mentioned I've forgotten.
He spent almost a year as a host-slave for Nabu, stuck in a black void of sensory deprivation.

... if Zoat wrote him shaking that off and being ready to jump back into superheroing in just two months, most of the thread would have called bullshit.

The only part of this that caught me was the whole "not moving back in to the mountain until I find a replacement for Batman."

I don't get that. Why wouldn't he? I mean it was his home for a year and he has done a LOT of work on its defenses. I really can't see Paul living anywhere that isn't kitted out to all extremes. I mean he already knows of a group that likes to break in and steal his stuff.

Plus the idea of Paul breaking further away from the team...saddens me.
Honestly, I actually read that as
"Oh sure I'll be back, just haveta finish off my current assignment before I can start moving back in"
.....
Or.. you know.
He's hoping for some *coughs* alone time with jade away from the mountain's security systems~

He might also have..... issues with the league's passive acceptance of Nabu holding his only living family hostage to blackmail him into "agreeing" to serve as a meat suit for the rest of his life, and lying to his OTHER friend's l/ the entire world about What happened to him.

That aside, if he was declared legally dead, even if he wasn't ......peeves with his "friends", him suddenly turning up alive and well could lead to..... complications aside from a mound of paperwork/beurocratic gymnastics to prove he isn't a clone/demon/shaleshifting alien/copy from an alternate dimension ect

Ah, I thought it just meant completely unresponsive. I'll change that.
You know that Paul forgot that he was supposed to bring someone back with him right? One of the OL recruits I think! Can't remember the name.

Also what happened to Nyuggs guy. He kinda faded out from the story.

He actually seemed more upset with the SI when he was in hospital, although he didn't really say much.
Part of that might be more of a mix of confusion and the fact that his daughter had a crush on Paul for a lot of it.

Not to mention involving Constantine in it...in a way that gave what amounts to epic cosmic power to John Constantine...

I'm pretty sure the equivalent term in that part of the world is "Wisconsinite."
you want to start a green bay vs Vikings thing please don't do it here
*Sigh*

Still stuck on Jade? She's shit tier.

It's okay in one side of the story, but both?
dude we've seen that Jade is an interesting charecter, and from renegade we've seen that Grayven is not with Jade anymore as far I know so why are you trying to diss the OPs decision on this

He wants to make sure that Mr Swift wants to met her first. Giving Mr Swift unwelcome surprises is a bad idea.

He decided that direct attacks were unlikely to be productive and the SI left Earth.

07:23 GMT -5

Artemis, right. I press the answer button and hold it to my ear.

"Good morning."

"Hey Jade. Arte wants-." There's a pause as Wallace's brain readjusts. "Oh El?"
Zoat, brilliant and hilarious chapter. Very satisfying after al the build-up.

Were Wally and Artemis dating before Oh El left?
Yes, as of March or so.

Unaware sister's boyfriend transitioning into the sister!
Speaking of, does anyone else notice that at 7:23am Artemis was calling from wherever she was with Wally, and not with Paula? September 13, 2011 was a Thursday so why was she staying over at the Mountain on a school night? I think those two are in no position to be pointing fingers.

It was a Tuesday, but she does stay overnight in the Mountain sometimes.

Have you watched Red Dwarf? With the objective of keeping David Lister sane and with the whole crew to choose from, Holly resurrected Arnold Rimmer as a hologram. He did so on the basis that Lister had spent far more time talking to Rimmer than he had with the people he actually liked.

The SI has spent more time with Jade than with nearly anyone else. The other Lifers, Zatanna and maybe Alan come out ahead. While other parings might be more interesting, he knows her far better than the other options.

But what if the last demon is a lesbian succubus?
As a man who likes men, there is literally nothing more boring to me in a romantic sense then a lesbian. Also, don't succubi kill the people they enthrall? I never quite understood the rules.

Pauls home could be in a house that Prince whatshisface who's marrying his girlfriend, gives him on Tamaran, for making it possible to marry his girlfriend, and it'd take him about as long to get to Gotham as if he was in Mount Justice. But yes, it saddens me too.
While he might have a vacation home on Tamaran, I've got to say, even traveling faster than light, I think it would take him longer to get from there to Gotham, then it would from Mount Justice to Gotham. I mean, I'm no scientition, but it seems to me that the distance is longer.

Why yes I know he can teleport now, but I don't think he can bring people and/or things?

So Batman runs the team, and so by moving back to the mountain Oh El would be putting himself back on the team without Batman's express permission.
I'm fairly certain that Paul, before leaving anyway, probably saw the team more as his then Batman's. Secondly, despite being Batman's little black ops secret at first (though have they been publicly exposed?) Kalder IS the leader, and they can more or less run themselves. The League mostly just hands out missions. I mean, if Paul wanted to come back, and the team agreed they wanted him back, just what could or would Batman do about it? Nothing productive.

Paul considers it his home but wants to put off meeting the team until he's done dealing with their mentors who are likely to order them to limit their interaction with him
Other then Aquaman, I don't think any of the League actually have the authority/ability to utterly forbid all interaction with Paul. They might be young, but that doesn't make them slaves. Even Batman, as Robin's guardian, is pushing it. I mean parents say all the time "I don't really want you around him." But does that ever really do anything?

Plus while Paul has squared away the fact that he'll never be on the Justice League or friends with any of the members
Never say never. I'm fairly certain that unanimous agreement isn't a thing any more, and beyond that, if the entire team joined the Justice League, and they wanted Paul to join them, I'm fairly certain that is all it would take. Or they could just walk. The League might have been a goal for all, but people change.

I mean if Kalder contacted Paul right now, and stated that he and the rest of the team wanted to break away from the League, and requested a meeting and Paul's aid in helping them establish their own thing....do you really think Paul wouldn't throw whatever resources they need to do so their way? He could do it, he could do it easily. Hell, with the good will he has with several UN nations right now, he could probably even get a legal mandate thingy.

There are members of the League who could be worried that their side-kicks might be influenced to follow Paul's footsteps in regards to dealing with certain enemies thus undermining everything they strived to instill into them, since Paul follow most of the conventional guideline required to be a hero while either subverting or ignoring other such as using lethal tactics instead of just subduing their enemies.
Paul has killed exactly one person (and legally he wasn't) that the League objected to, and even then they were largely split. He isn't Grayven after all.

If you're going to wake her up, may I suggest using the ring to hack her alarm clock and setting it to play this?
Can you even hack a alarm clock? What programing to they even have?

Or.. you know.
He's hoping for some *coughs* alone time with jade away from the mountain's security systems~
So somewhere where her squishy baseline body can be taken out with one rifle shot? Gotcha.

What? You think someone wouldn't take a shot at Orange Lantern's girlfriend when he isn't around? Might I point out he has made an enemy out of Hell itself?

It's okay in one side of the story, but both?
To be fair...Jade IS the only girl that Paul expressed interest in who expressed it back without being all Tsun about it.

dude we've seen that Jade is an interesting charecter
Gotta say...speak for yourself. It doesn't matter all that much to me after I realized Kon was never really in the running but....Jade is literally the most boring character Paul does things with. She's another dull baseline with...well nothing interesting going on really. Melinope and Hera? THAT'S interesting.

she was part of thereafter of assasin or their parent and helped nabu how is a person who did that not interesting and even if she wasn't a connection like that might keep him more human

OH EL SHE IS A HALF DEMON!

IS THE SAME REASON THEY DON'T WANT JASON BLOOD!

That's it, being half greed light made Oh El deaf.

"I don't want Jason Blood, he is basically half demon."

"Oh I know this woman, she is half demon."

"Are you even listening?"

Well...let me see if I can crack this code. Somewhere, the English are weeping.

Okay. So she's a baseline human with absolutely no special powers or abilities. That's strike one. I have no respect or interest in normals in a comic book. I just don't.

She used to be a member of the League of assassins. Oh goody. She's a half ass comic book ninja. Blessed with the amazing ability to run around with obsolete weapons (still dangerous in the right hands yes) until someone shoots her in the head. Also, Ninja=Boring. I was tired of ninja BEFORE the ninja craze on the 90s.

She helped fight Nabu. Yes, yes she did. She shot at him. With a gun. Which is boring. See, I have a gun, and I can go shoot it whenever I want. Know what I can't do? Super powered things. Also, Cornwall Boy helped fight Nabu, and was arguably more crucial (Not to take away Jade's help or the risk to her) but I'm not about to suggest Paul hook up with him.

Finally. Keep him human. Humans are boring.

Now let us take a look at some of the other contenders.

Melinope: Well first off she's very striking. Not one of a million bottle dye blonds, not with her striking skin tone and cool ass horns. Couple that with being an honest to her Goddess with a plethora of abilities over her domains, in addition to the knowledge she can bring AND connection to one of the big three in the greek pantheon...well, a lot more interesting then a friggin ninja. Problems? Well she's one of those bitchy types...and no one actually likes Tsunderes in real life. Girl that likes you but treats you like shit? Ugh.

Hera: Okay this was just a flirt but seriously? Queen of the Gods? Granted it has it's own problems with Zeus getting pissed and Hera's own history of leveling VERY nasty curses on people. (She did cause Herakles to murder his own children and most of his brothers after all) Even still, lots of potential there, stories and otherwise. Also? Almost certainly awesome in bed.

Troia: Has super powers. Can't just be shot in the head. A weaker entry to be sure. But she can paste Jade, and that makes her okay in my book. Given OL's work towards magical studies, and her connection to the Titans, I feel there could be a lot of potential there. Still, I can understand picking asian over blondy. (Love me some oriental men)

Okay...who else?

Harley Quinn: Eeehhhhh....I know the slash/hentai/art scene loves Harley....but eh...I can't say she's a ton better then Jade. More interesting in looks if you take ALL her outfits and makeup throughout the multiverse. But still...a normal.

I can't remember anyone else off the top of my head, and I'm hungry. So, done for now.

I won't include Holly and Karon because they are already in a relationship and personal experience? A threesome relationship can only work if all three people love one another. Maybe, MAYBE, it could work if two people really loved the third.

All of this distracts from the One True Kon....but, you know, SI and all.

Lifers? Wha?
Do you mean the team?
I didn't think batman was the type to care about public image beyond his whole terror schtick, and Jason blood is a perfectly adequate superhero without going into the Etrigan form, and could serve adequately as a member of the Justice league without bothering with that, so I don't see it being a problem outside of the scenario where him being a demon is public knowledge.

Too many times.

It's also a comedy that's written by people to make an entertaining. You're arguement would work if it was a real world, and from an in story perspective it makes sense.

What doesn't work is that you use that from an out of story perspective where you have crafted this narrative. We've already had the whole Si/Jade pairing. It's a complete retread. Sure, the situations are slightly different and maybe the results arn't the same but it's trodden ground.

This is bad from a story telling perspective.

Now feel bad, and thing about narrative flow.

Harley Quinn's normal and in your words boring and knows him less than Jade.
Thinks of troia as a friend at best a mutual aqauintence at worst strike two
Hera is in no way gonna be into a relationship after just dealing with a divorce and probably getting used to being single first
Melonoe a Greek goddess of the dead in a pantheon known for petty douchery and only had a small fraction of the time he's spent with Jade and he might like her he hasn't known her nearly long enough to know if it's just friends or not and he does know what he wants in a relationship with Jade.
Also the normal people have perspectives powereds don't and all the other people fighting nabu had super powers not exactly as courageous as getting a sniper and firing at a millenia old super wizard

Yeah, I mean I like Melinoe but she did almost torture someone into insanity because he was being a dickish bureaucrat. *I* might date someone like that (because I hate all bureaucracy with a passion) but the SI wouldn't
