@Alectai The best way to deal with this is just to make it a rule that unless it is posted in the thread it isn't confirmed. Then if you are set on something or want to clarify something in an ongoing vote, you do so in a thread. You control the message, people are more likely to read it, there's no game of broken telephone and people on discord can still benefit by shaping your thoughts and asking you questions that can clear up things for you.

It is also fairer to non-discord users who may feel they're missing out on key info unless they join the discord. Which shouldn't really be the case. Discords are a great thing for quests, but they should never supplant the main thread unless that is an intended design of the quest.

Sorry, I want to clarify with an edit, unless you post it in the thread. That way you get to decide what you want to post in the thread. I did that in Magna Graecia sometimes when there was an important question or something that people asked in discord that I felt needed to be said in-thread.

1) Yes, there is a Discord, no, it's not a source of privileged information so much as it's a drafting tool I use to help order my thoughts. Unless I explicitly clear it for release, any information claimed to be from it should be taken with a grain of salt.

EDIT: Okay, probably not even that now that I think about it. The new rule is probably just there to limit the damage of any accidental leak if it does happen even with the warnings.

The Bulb is a Star Lotus power plant, Bio Cannons that can retract for better Defense, Tentacles for Short Range.

Guys on the note of 'assuming and alliance with the AM being the friendly action' I have to say I disagree. It strikes me as a little insulting to her and her followers to just assume they are friends just because both of us arose from ancient evil super weapons that would sometimes ally (and mostly fight). Anime accents aside this is not the new day in high school where we plaster a smile on our faces and hug random people, its is more akin to international diplomacy where alliances are forged of common interests and goals.

Well, you can always join us in the discord server. Its not like its a special club that only the chosen few can enter. And its a tool which Alectai uses to get motivated and get his writing-engine going:

For fuck's sake, this is why I ask people to ask me if it's okay to drop stuff.

Okay, the best way of describing it is that Discord is my brainstorming and rough drafting tool. I ask people not to pass things from it on because I might change my mind. I've found I have greater success brainstorming and riding that momentum out when I have an audience, something to do with my populist tendencies I suppose.

It is not intended to be a secret, privileged information source, and this is why I try to tell people "If you want to bring something up, ask me first". It's because it's still first draft material at best

So if we didn't have discord, you should expect wayyyy less updates probably in that negaverse. Yes, there are still problems, but an increased update speed covers many sins, at least in my mind.

By the way, Alectai, I noticed a discrepancy the other day with regard to our omakes; reposting it here:

So, we had a generic +5 kinetic action omake bonus that never got used in Chapter One because we had more specific ones instead, so I thought it should apply to this. When I went to look at the Sidestory list, though, I noticed that every omake was marked as Expended, including the two ones we never applied to any rolls: that one (which I think was Good Soldiers Follow Orders or For As Long As I Shall Live), and Health and Dental (+5 omake to "something appropriate").

Was marking them as Expended an error, or do omake bonuses not carry over chapter to chapter?
