We Are the Gods of a New World Order [Warhammer 50K ~ Warp God Simulator]

A thought on the Publicani is that they're a bit of a mixed blessing.
We don't want them to get blown out of the Void, the colonists aboard are victims too. However, as they are now their leadership won't negotiate, and if they DO somehow decide to turn tail and flee, we can be fairly sure they'd be back with extra doses of misery.

So ideal route is for them to get roughed up a bit and then we can offer them an olive branch of salvation.
Which'd only work if we sincerely didn't know it IC.
Oni-Chan is "older brother". Onee-chan is "older sister".
Two i's in Onii.
Oni is something else entirely, unless you're in Monogatari(in which case Oni Onii-chan is one of Koyomi's many nicknames)

Alternatively we could somehow pull off Boarding Action and depose the Publicani.

"You nitwit! Dolt!" It threw it back. "That's not the Safe Passage rune at all! That's the Interesting Times Rune!" It hovered up to his face and grabbed him by the shoulders, shaking him. "Look! Right at the bottom!" He did so. "You see that?"

"That's Safe Passage!" He called out--only to get shaken again. "No! Safe passage has a rounded bottom! That's clearly a squiggly!"

He looks again, and pales. "Oh... Oh no..."

"Damn right you're 'Oh No!' We were just coming here to do some bonepicking, now we're in a race!" The drone bobbed and pushed forward to the bridge, completely missing the readouts on the camera. "Full power to the engines! Our quest will not be denied!"

"Hold on..." The long suffering assistant to the Most Glorious Sage of the Arcane Cosmos added, looking at his dataslate. "This can't be right, they got here faster than we did..."

Everyone on the bridge stopped, turned, and stared.

"Interesting Times is supposed to create a trial after arrival, isn't it?"
Classic god of change, making those two runes so easy to confuse, and like us and lewdness, she/he is frustrated at the confusion making things more difficult than it should be.:rofl:

[X] The Ancient Vessel
[X] The Azure Dragoons

She isn't family, she's another chaos god. At best they've temporarily put aside ducking with each other long enough to screw over someone else, then go back to trying to kill each other. That doesn't need to be the case now, but assuming any implicit cooperation is a mistake.

Both of her appearances have shown that she views the death VM's people, and possibly VM herself, as opportunities and nothing else. She's never tried to make contact for any reason, even when she was caught and could easily have provided useful information to us without personal risk.

AM clearly doesn't view VM as family, or at least not as we'd think of it.
Exactly. AM is a warp god, which means the narrative of how we treat her is extremely important for shaping our relationship.

Yes, she has shown a clear opportunistic streak and has generally been pretty self-centered. If the VM responds to that by going "Oh hey, sis, glad to see you - thanks for the favor one time I'd like to make it up to you." and sticks to that story, there's a very good chance that AM will be transformed from "self-interested opportunist" to "that one sibling that mostly mooches, but pulls through when you really need it".

Trying to deal with what is is always far less productive than dealing with what could be, because warp gods are literally what you make of them.

I feel like we can get the Dragoon's who are visibly roughed up to land on our welcome mat will get AM to reconsider what the flying flip is going on and contact us when their are no explosion's and death going on in the tree and learn more abut Elysium's effect's and considers to bandwagon on the neutral tree zone.
Meanwhile we talk to the Expedition saying there's loot on the Publicani and we can welcome them fit for a king after they have their fun.

Hey @Alectai, sorry if you already talked about it somewhere, but I was wondering.

These were with the Lesser Daemon Manifestation and I was wondering what they were.
Divine Blessings are our version of the Gifts of Chaos
Affinity is rebranded Chaos Corruption

You recall when VM was talking to Dana about how she and the other Chosen have "space" in their soul?
"I know the words, but I don't think about them any more than other people do. So someone just spits out some nonsense and I just get really confused, and since you're the only one I can question about it..." You wiggle a hand noncommittaly.

"On that note, why is that the case?" Dana asked after a moment. You clapped your hands together and smiled. "Oh! I could, but it'd be risky for them--normal people talking to gods doesn't usually go over well--you're pretty safe--you've got a good chunk of..."

You pause for a moment and dig deep for a word that would make sense in context.

"Space? I guess? Most people I'd say only have a 'Little' space in their soul, whatever their other abilities. It's enough that I can put a finger in" You lift your pinky and wiggle it around for emphasis as your Priestess stares at your explanation. "But if I were to start wiggling that finger around inside them--or goodness, actually try to put my whole hand in, the bits about their spirit that keep them together would rip, and then who knows what'd happen--probably nothing good."
What VM is refering to is the ability of a given individual to accept the Gifts of Chaos, their innate potential, if they don't have enough space and VM tries to "stick her hand in them" or give them Blessings she risks damaging their souls and even causing them to collapse into Chaos Spawn
The Old 4 didn't really care, so they threw their Gifts around willy nilly and giggled if the cultist couldn't handle it and devolved into gibbering monsters, us New Gods are more discerning since we actually care about the well being of our followers

Compatibility with our Blessings is determined by future potential, that is people who could be great but haven't met that potential yet
Dana for instance, if we hadn't interfered, was on the path to become a prominent Cardinal of the Eclesiarchy, we essentially took all the potential that could have gone into that path and repurposed it
It's not that she was "destined" to be great though, more that she had the potential to be great

Affinity, as rebranded Chaos Corruption, therefore denotes how close a follower is to our nature, the more Divine Blessings we bestow upon them the higher their Affinity
Once they hit 100% Affinity we can ascend them to Daemon Princedom, we won't be able to do that for a while still though

Getting up with our sibling will be extremely helpful. Also, we pretty much made a promise to the Dragoons, and we're NOT the sort to back out on promises.

Let me save you Onee-chan

What

Hah! That'll most likely give AM, or their followers at least the good 'ole BSOD.

Also, why is everyone assuming that AM is female? Based on what I can remember of the turn where AM first showed up, we didn't learn either their Gender or their Sex.

Also, just thought of something; I wonder what our Daemon Princes(ses) (or the closest equivalents we'll wind up with access to) will look like?

………… And why the F#*K am I suddenly shipping the VM and Martin Solheart?

Personally I think Sendai is more important than AM in talking first since while AM isn't probably going to go in guns blazing to kill everything even if we don't talk to her Sendai I feel has potential to be a pain in the ass if we don't talk to him and an amicable guy if we can get him to actually talk to us.

AM might take a look around and just decide to flee though.
She is extremely undergunned here and not really invested in this planet.
Why should she stick around and risk her ship being destroyed?

And so? AM fleeing would suck but having to fight the Crons would suck even more even if AM is on our side helping us. Which isn't even certain mind you cause AM could easily respond to our message that a clusterfuck is happening by running away all the same because as you said she's undergunned and wouldn't want to lose her on;y ship and followers

the necron is literally here to "test the might of the locals" like best we can hope here i believe is he fights both us and the publicani or leaves after fighting the publicani
