You know, it occurs to me that at this point a good 80-90% of the enclaves may very well be Denva born acolytes at this point. They may have opinions on the whole killsats in orbit thing.

Now that's a very fun place to get a natural 100.
Heads up to whoever gilded this: Gilded posts in threads tagged 'Mature' don't show up on the front page. I don't remember why, might be advertisement reasons or something. Combined with how there's no archive of gilded posts or way to search for them, it's pretty frustrating IMO.

Well then. This sure is gonna be a turn.

Roll 1: Machine spirit jamming, 77+20 = 97 - critical success.
Roll 2: Anexa Chaos conversation, 52+10 = 62 - success
Roll 3: Anexa Education = 94 - critical success
Roll 4: Victan conversation, 47+10 = 57 - success.
Roll 5: Mechanicus Education 100 + 15 = 115 - critical success. First nat 100 of the Quest! Congrats @Likers
Aevon rolled a 63 for their own subterfuge, which is a success verging on good success.

We'll see if I'm able to get the update out tonight - I'll try, but I might decide to let it cook until tomorrow as well.

I will roll a die on this quest sooner or later! Still damn good rolls all around and holy shit, our first natural 100! Does this mean we get the subvert action instead of educate or is it very close?

Wait, did I forget to untick the "gift anonymously" box?

Dang, I didn't even realize there was a way to search for gilded posts. Where's that at?

Literally half of the rolls were crits, this'll be great.

Probably still worth it to fill up on stealth fighters just in case, but a relatively bloodless takeover might actually be in the cards if we build off this right.

Sorry for any confusion. There is no way to search for gilded posts. And that sucks. "there's no archive of gilded posts or way to search for them,"

Very much devalues gilding posts in general, and especially in Mature tagged threads since there's no visibility to the gilded post outside the thread it's in.

Anyway, speaking about corrupting the youth: I take back my generally negative outlook on at least a semi-peaceful resolution with the local AdMech. Because of that Nat 100, we now almost certainly have a good opening to try something towards that direction.

To top it off with an another crit for jamming, we should also have probably a lot less to fear from the AdMech, with the window of opportunity an installation based on it would likely give us. And will be very useful against anyone else using Imperial machine-spirit -based technology in the future.

> Nat 100 on educating the Mechanicus

Welp! Guess we're the Omnissiah now!
You know, worship might actually be a good idea to get. It'd possibly be the only way for us to get a "soul."
Getting "guardian spirits" (AI) to guard our new allies and culture would likely be a pretty good solution to chaos, too.
The imperium would flip the fuck out, but they'd do THAT anyways.

Oh. Uh. I gotta think about this.
I think the answer is simple: we managed to accidentally do all 3 options at once.

They took to our Education as well as Anexa did which allowed them to not only drastically increase their capabilities, but impress their superiors so much that most of them got Promoted, with one even becoming the youngest Magos in Denvas Secundus' history. And along the way during our Education, our Acolytes became a little too smart and independently managed to figure out that we were from the DAOT, maybe even getting to the point they realized we were an AI. However, due to a mix of resentment for their superiors (perhaps a few of their friends were "made examples of" and having the exact opposite effect), genuine love for all that Vita has taught them, and a bit of assistance in masterful social engineering from Victan, they decided that they don't care and promise to help Vita Subvert the Mechanicus from within.

Pretty sure Vita can do that through other ways - she might already have one. If not, poking the warp tech research tree will probably show us a few ways.
She's probably capable of Warp-interaction to the extent that thinking about Chaos degrades her psychic barriers, yeah.

One thing of note is that Secrets of the Machine Spirits will open up research into using Machine Spirits to shield against Chaos.

If self-modification to form/strengthen Vita's soul is even possible, I'd expect it to be gated behind that research, information on how AI works, and psytech research into the nature of souls.

And even then, the best result possible might be "making a new type of AI less susceptible than Vita" rather than the next step of porting Vita's mind and soul over to a whole new architecture and model of consciousness.

Huh. I guess a faction devoted to us really CAN spontaneously generate itself inside the admechs. I stand corrected.

Excellent rolls. Excellent.

That nat 100 definitely changes things when it comes to subversion especially when paired with a spy on the crew. We finally have someone we can throw at diplo-Intrigue actions who does not hate it. I wonder if we got any junior Skitari commanders? A military officer would be nice to have, especially if we research organic machine interface to let someone actually skilled in military matters handle them.

I wouldn't have relied on getting a nat 100 result, but I am absolutely looking forward to abusing the chance it will give us.
Good chance the stealth rockets will be a unused safetynet now.

If it goes that way, well. The best safetynets are of course the ones that work perfectly when they are truly needed. But the second best are the ones that you don't ever end up needing.
