3. Neablis has not stated what the mechanics are behind how long it is between visitors at all. I am basing my estimates on narrative factors such as getting above being across roads and the previously observed rate of visitors which was about once every two to three turns. In universe this is not random, there is not an equal likelihood of someone passing through every year for Vita to fallaciously interpret, and absent an out of universe logic to follow, this is what I am using.
I believe there have been very few apparent public rolls visibly associated with whether visitors appear as opposed to who and how.

We had arrivals on turns 20 (Space Marines in Denva), 21 (Eldar in Denva), 23 (Dark Eldar in Ascalon, this one had an associated 'does anyone show up' roll connected to the webway gate), and 28 (Orks in Caldereth).

If we discount the Dark Eldar as a semi-separate phenomenon, that does line up quite well with your 'around every three turns' (and around every 2 if we don't discount them). The distribution does suggest behind-the-scenes randomness to me - SM and Eldar back-to-back, then nothing through Vorthryn? It certainly could be all QM's choice but that isn't how it feels to me.

But whatever it is it's certainly hidden.

Whether or not the turns without visitors impact the conditional probability of an immediate visitor (I'd favor 'mostly not' at the moment, except for potential follow-ups from past contacts, but that's just my guess) the statistics certainly give reason to think an arrival is a significant likelihood at any time.

Unlucky, but the standard result was all we were really asking of it?

I don't like our poor results, but I don't think I'd have chosen to bring down any of the good ones in their favor if I could. (Though I probably would move the crit to one of the other good results given the option.)
 
Worried about poor Denva rolls followed by a couple of good mystery rolls, but hope it works out. Research rolls were a bit meh, but excited to see what crit success biggest boom brings.
 
My impression is that mystery rolls that are explained have been high-is-good-for-us?
Sometimes they're rolls for how the enemy does, like Bongo's 2 during the Battle for Denva.

Though gosh, every manufacturing technology that could go wrong did. I hope that doesn't screw up the build plan too much...

Well, now we've figured out how to address Vita's military problems--we trade robot casualties by superior combatants for robot casualties by collateral damage.

(Follow up tech: The Littlest Biggest Boom, where we start researching anti-matter induced fission so we can arm our bots with thermonuclear bolters.)

Listen, sometimes you just have to erase that horizon with an errant burst from the Heavy Bolter. Really cultivate those mushrooms.

(Also, it wouldn't be just antimatter. It'd be a teeny capsule of antiprotons trapped in buckyballs in a spherical shell of uranium, and a 'dry' lithium deuteride secondary. You know, the holy trinity.)
