Klysar, though... what does everyone think about getting Drugs, and studying the DEldar guns so we can make our own paralytic weapons to give out to Specter bots? Board from multiple places, then start clearing rooms like solid snake with nigh-silent guns without letting on what's happening.
The problem with the DE guns is that we need an Advanced Technological Research Lab to research them which is something we need to design first.

I'm thinking research Drugs? Drugs then manufacture a bunch of knock out/riot suppression gas to go with a bucket full of new bots to assault Klysar with.

It is kinda lucky that the enemy we are facing is the one we prepared the most for.

Seeing as Bongo has spilled the beans I am now in favor of disposal. Even the fact that Demonology's cost will increase by +300 RP isn't enough to convince me to keep them around. We don't need Demonology right now, there are just so many other things to research.

It's not that Demonology isn't potentially useful. There are just a lot of things which are important, useful, and immediately relevant. I doubt we will be running out soon.
Plus I don't doubt we will get plenty of discounts to Demonology from other sources in the future. Like Immaterium Understanding. So we can just forget about it until the cost is down again.

I was thinking of building out our personal fleet with a handful heavy cruisers for brawling and a pack of fast destroyers for chasing things down.

I've been messing with a design for a heavy cruiser to go with the Harrier-class destroyer, and it's a little discouraging how easy it is to design something that I think would burn down the Spark almost effortlessly in a slugging match.

Did the information get out (outside already dead chaos space marines)? Because I would like to get a confirmation for that. Besides, if you are worried it happening again (like I am), we could do what the QM just pointed out for us... And research Psychic Encryption.

We should upgrade to a battleship before we leave
In not sure this will be cost effective versus build a fleet of escort ships. While we are pressed for space, our biggest issue hasn't been weapons - it's been sensors and engine speed.
More pf the fact making a effective battleship is behind a bunch of research, while making a attending fleet is not, and we have a bunch of rearch to be done if we want to leave Denva with a remotely humane way of dealing with cults.

Making Vita a battle ship class body will only require three techs (and I'm not 100% sure on one of them) because she can design and build herself a ship body one class higher then what we have unlocked so the only research we will have to do for a battleship for Vita are:
-[] Advanced Materials (250 RP) You know there are exotic elements with absurd physical properties. But it's also possible to build absurdly strong materials with common elements. How does that work? Time to dust off some ancient research projects and figure this stuff out. (Unlocks improved armor, as well as research to unlock megastructures. Also required for battleships and larger walkers)
-[] Grand Cruisers (400 RP) Making a ship design that's not spaghetti takes time and effort. It's still boring. But if you want to make queens of the void, its necessary. (unlocks grand cruisers, half of the prereq for battleships)
-[] Can I have a new ship please? (200 RP) Triggers a sub-turn to design yourself a new ship. It can be any size, up to one class larger than what you currently have available (This is Vita's unique mechanic, and will let you design new iterations of your ship)
So it's not really that big a task though I do want to do a bunch of stealth and cramming research before that.

I thought knockout gasses were implied to be a following tech to Drugs?
May lead to research for things like perfect knockout gas

That is a woefully optimistic projection for this tread my dude.

Specially when we do have other more pressing things to deal on even more chaos resistence, the whole militarization, warp coms, psyker stuff, the navigator raising and OMC improvements, all that are more pressing.

Ps: Also the first research you quoted is the research that unlock the research for megastructures. And we need that research.

Oh believe me I'm aware BUT I CAN DREAM DAMN IT!

We can't know for sure, but the odds are high enough I don't consider it a priority anymore.

I do want Psychic Encryption, but if it wasn't for Bongo we could totally put it off a few turns.
Plus it's not like information leakage is the only issue from Bongo.

That's the moment Bongo chooses to make a ruckus, rattling the shields of its cage with a new kind of attack you haven't seen before. There's a long shriek that reverberates between the walls of the Obliette, trying to find the resonant frequency of the prison and shatter it.

Bongo Escape Attempt - 2. Nope.

It fails. The psychic scream isn't dissimilar to what Cia unleashed early in her training, and it peters out without achieving its desired effect.

-30 Bongo Oubliette shielding
Sure their attempt failed and dealt minimal damage. But it was still a roll. Had they rolled well, it could have gotten really ugly.
And sure we can prevent it from happening again. But it takes us doing a bunch of research which is at best a moderate priority. When we have a plate full of urgent priories and a bunch of fresh new barrels of research to crack open, rather then scraping the bottom of this specific one.

The main inhibition to climbing the ship classes is construction, not tech. Building the Spark took a ton of manufacturing capacity devoted to it for some time, and the larger ships make the Spark look small.

We're going to need to mature Vorthryn, build a large shipyard there, and then spend time building the actual ship. Less than that will be an unreasonable timesink.

That and the idea that we still need to make large void manufactories.
There's a bunch of preliminary steps we could have including have a large population of trained crew that needs to be taken, before we outgrown the spark.

And how have you confirmed the odds to be high enough? Putting off Psychic Encryption for exactly these reasons what led us to this scenario in the first place. It would be nice if we already had encryption and didn't have to spend precious actions and RP for it right now, but now I think it is the time to grit our teeth and eat that cost for pushing it back.

Because as we have been shown just now, we do not always get to pick the fights we have to take. We might have no warning. We might have to face other foes beyond Chaos with Divination. Operating against any cults with possible divination abilities, however small, with anti-divination of defenses of would also be very useful. So I think that having anti-divination is vital and can no longer be pushed back.

Efficiency is nice and all, but sometimes you just have to pay the price to have the capability on hand right now even if it is costly and inconvenient. I mean, when the QM starts heavily hinting that we should research it, I think we should take that hint seriously.

EDIT: some clarifications to the text
