Well then. Politicians gunna politician. Honestly, it's probably a good thing we've got MCAT on overwatch and perimeter guard in all the leading plans. I don't care what no politician says, letting news cameras into an active O.Z. is a good way for civilians to get hurt or killed. Also, if they're smart, this won't be airing Live. We are fairly confident that things aren't going to go mostly horribly, but the Politicos don't know that, and airing an operation that is actively going FUBAR would damage confidence in the party and MCAT more than a "perfect" outcome would strengthen their positions.

Hopefully these politicians have at least two brain cells on hand to rub together to realize this. No cameras in the O.Z., no live broadcasts out. Hopefully if we get those, we can keep the Amazons mostly out-of-frame and obfuscate their presence further by the powers of post-processing if necessary...
 
Yeah the thing about Alice is that she won't fight until the time is right.

Iirc one of the reasons that makes her prefer a support role is that she is actually quite skilled in combat and could hand someone ass 9 ways to sunday.

But her personality is so sweet that she feels Bad about doing that to someone, especially after she used it on one of her bullies during the shared childhood she has with Mana and Rika.

She is pretty much the definition of the cures of being careful with the calm ones as her anger maybe could be compared to that of Rei.

So we just need to wait a little for the dokidoki events to kick in full as cure Sword already Made the jump due to her kingdom destuction

Ohh I always like your looks into the civvie side of things. Though to be honest, even with historical trends I cannot see the LDP loosing unless MCAT seriously drops the ball--and I'd think that'd only really happen if the voters actively decided to let them flounder.

Seriously, within 6 months the current government managed to create a completely new org to combat actual fucking magical alien terrorists from space and other dimensions. That is extraordinary. Its so astoundingly impressive I honestly don't have the words for it. Like yes bad economy tanked them irl, but irl did not have Japan facing multiple aggressive invaders from actual fairytales. Historically people don't tend to give a fuck about GDP growth when in a defensive existential war.

Sure but while MCAT has a lot of minor victories in its belt. It haven't given the government a publicized major and decisive victory yet. those minor victories were too short to distract everyone of the news of the economy in crisis. And certainly not enough to convince Fudo to vote to anti corruption measures. Or for Hata to not try his luck. the LDP had 275 out of 257 needed to maintain confidence

and of course there is the problem of the rally round the flag effect running out. You better have solved the problems effecting your populace before the war. Else the population would say what now. and go back to complaining about said problems. Meaning that a lot of Wartime leaders political careers ended after said war thats what happened to Churchill, Truman, (eventually) France (4th republic) and (irl at least) most recently both Bush presidents.

So Miyazawa is future proofing his party and increasing his very tenuous hold on the party. A MCAT Victory would help with that.

Well, they've seen what happened to American support for the Vietnam War as a result of TV footage of the fighting making it back home, if nothing else. That war was only twenty years in the past at this point.

On the "reporters wouldn't be live at the operation" front... Dec 1992 is when US Marines/SEALs went into Somalia via amphib landing in the dark of night, only to have a decently well lit beach as at least dozens of reporters and camera operators broadcast the landing live, and reporters and cameras surrounded positions as the military forces tried to do their jobs despite the circus around them.

I wouldn't count the stupidity out quite yet. Just saying.

You have missed the point.

The point is that TV footage of a military operation gone horribly wrong will shock and upset the public. The exact consequences will vary depending on circumstances. If the war is foreign and ultimately a war of choice, the public may rally against the war itself. If the war is a matter of national survival, the public may instead simply call for an entirely different group of leaders to be placed in charge of the war effort, people who know what they're doing, instead.

But something will happen, and it won't work out to the benefit of the current government.

The point is, if the LDP wants the footage of the Cendrellion raid to bolster the impression they wish to create of them being in control of a national emergency, then they would be well advised to avoid a situation where there is a risk of "military operation gone horribly wrong" ending up on the airwaves.

Mmm, I think Nanoha's assessment is on point not because of the power disparity(though it does play a part), but rather that she's concerned that Fate might be too hard to hit for them to hold back properly if it comes to a fight.

Which isn't incorrect, Barrier Jackets counter environmental effects of all sorts strongly, and Fate is just too damned fast, the easiest way to win such an encounter is wait until she's stuck sealing a Jewel Seed(which is uh...not a good plan IMO, you do not want the person sealing a Jewel Seed to have their arm jogged), or hit her hard enough to KO her before she just accelerates out of scene.

Though really what Fate needs isn't Senshi percussive maintenance(it wouldn't work, she's fighting for love of her mother, and even literally being discarded and tortured didn't stop that), its someone to pin her in place long enough to hit her with a Forte Wave to jog the right kinds of introspection loose.

Now, as far as I know, events of Triangle Heart and MGLN are mostly mutually non-canon, but that needn't and doesn't stop fanfic writers from incorporating elements like the above into MGLN fanfiction. Will this quest do that? Maybe! In part, I think it already does — I can't actually quote relevant part, but I'm pretty sure Nanoha made some comments before indicating her family has significant combat experience. In theory, nothing so far contradicts Suzuka being a vampire or having robot maids, either.

Making Arisa a ghost would probably be way trickier, though.

We don't know that Suzuka is a vampire for sure...but she responds fast enough to keep up with an untransformed, but cheating Fate in terms of reaction time, and she gets trapped in the Magicals Only barrier during the As finale with Arisa.

So the clues are hinting that while they might not be exactly the same as they were, they aren't mundane

Tsubomi doesn't really have a problem with heights that are 'normal' on a human scale. She can climb a ladder, no problem. She can look out a third-story window, no problem. She can look down from said window, no problem. There are people who find the idea of doing any of those things terrifying.

What is terrifying to Tsubomi is looking down across hundreds of meters of empty air and seeing no visible, substantial thing between her and the cold, hard ground. She might even be okay flying in an airplane, for all I know.

It's flying like a superhero flies, at great altitudes with no visible means of support, that really freaks her out.

What is the corporate structure of the Kaido Keiretsu/zaibetsu like I wonder (the company of which the future Cure Mermaid's parents and older brother are executives/managers in)? Vertical manufacturing for shipyards, with a spin off into entertainment with a cruise line, and resorts/land development to have places to take those tourists?

First, I thought this was best part of the update.

But then there was remaining of the update, and I happily learned that I was wrong. Uncertain girls supporting each other in those trying times are nice. Good way to start First Morning of the New Year.

Beacon of War to manifest, not a sword but the Aegis of the Moon and put your all into it. Moon shields attacks, heals wounds and fatiuge, de-curses and buffs MCAT and Amazon's alike. If youma target Moon, there is more than enough fighters to punish that error. But if you don't focus on Moon, the Vangaurd and Flankers don't suffer attrition - Cendelon's do. Hammy speeches, Playing up the Moon Pincess nee Gaurdian Angel aspect of Sailor Moon are the rule

    Even if some information leaked, there's at least one element to the assault that nobody has sufficient information on.

    Youma 1: If MCAT's staying on the sidelines, and the Inners are going for the middle, then the weak point of their whole plan is two Senshi that are supposed to "keep us busy" at the front door. What's stopping us from just swarming them, driving them off, then swinging back to support Cendrillion?
    Youma 2: Apparantly, it's some mercenary group out of China; call themselves the Amazons. I hear they're just a bunch of savages, even for humans. Not even magic guns like they used in Britain; they're just planning on punching us to death.
    Youma 1: Seriously? The Senshi must have either run out of money or time if that's the best they could grab before the ritual. I almost feel sorry for them. Welp, let's get this over with; maybe we can capture some of these Amazons to make new recruits out of.

    We don't have good information either, so it could be that they do end up over-running the Vanguard and Flankers - or at least that Overwatch needs to commit to support them.

    I admit to feeling a little nervous about this plan. Could work fine, but if the Amazons are more Setsuna levels of power they could really get hurt.
     
    Heres hoping that some MCAT members get some action. (Reinforcements perhaps) Kinda didnt take into account the votes. (my bad) probably have to rewrite some of my plans.

    Now the million dollar question is If we capture who would get custody. Definitely MCAT but the amazons are not gonna like it
     
    I think we talk to MCAT about it and tell them that most of the Youma can be captured, but the Amazon's need Cendrillon's head.

    The MCAT and the Japanese government not gonna let the opportunity of a high profile target so easily but probably allow it if the amazons say they are under MCAT (so they can claim the credit)

    Remember though, Usagi is kind-hearted - if they do manage to capture Cindrellion... executing prisoners is not something I think Usagi has it in her to just go along with.
