eh. the white hair and grey eyes make her stand out honestly in her DW games.

Also ALOT more outfits that DW Lingqi uses compare to ROTK Lingqu.

Thug 1: What about you?
Zhang Liao: Who, me?
Thug 2: What's your dream?
Zhang Liao: My apologies, I do not sing.
*blades are drawn*
Zhang Liao: ...
Zhang Liao: I have dreams like you...no really!
Just much less touchy feely!
I am thinking mainly of a place where I can train!
On an isolated mountain,
Cold and rested and alone!
Somewhere I can improve body and brain!
Liang Mi: I've got a dream!
Thugs: She's got a dream!
Liang Mi: I've got a dream!
Thugs: She's got a dream!
Liang Mi: I just want to help my family gleam!
And there is nothing more I covet
Than helping out my brother
Like all you lovely folks I have a dream!

Gaz, you have amazing taste, and I now fully expect the, hopefully plausible, super romantic moment we can have watching floating lanterns.

Zhu Fang:
Gosh it disturbs me to see you, Liang Shu
Looking so down in the dumps
Every guy here'd love to be you, Liang Shu
Even when taking your lumps
There's no man in Xinshen as admired as you
You're everyone's favorite guy
Everyone's awed and inspired by you
And it's not very hard to see why
No one's slick as Liang Shu
No one's quick as Liang Shu
No one fights their way out of a trick like Liang Shu
For there's no man in the county half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon!
You can ask any Zhang, Wang and Li
And they'll tell you whose team they prefer to be on!
Who escapes traps like Liang Shu
Who avoids mishaps like Liang Shu
Who's much more than the sum of his parts like Liang Shu

Liang Shu (striking a pose):
As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating

Lu Lingqi struggles to hold in laughter in background

Azure Lancers:
My what a guy, that Liang Shu

Liang Shu:
I needed encouragement
Thank you, Zhu Fang

Zhu Fang:
Well there's no on as easy to bolster as you..
Too much?

Liang Shu:
Yep

Zhu Fang:
No one fights like Liang Shu
Sets bandits to fright like Liang Shu
In a wrestling match nobody gains flight like Liang Shu

Lu Lingqi loses battle with laughter

Liang Shu:

When I hunt I sneak up with my quiver
And foes on the field say a prayer
First, I carefully aim for the liver
Then I shoot from behind

Zhu Fang:
Is that fair?

Liang Shu:
I don't care

Zhu Fang, room accompanying in song:
No one hits like Liang Shu
Matches wits like Liang Shu
In a tough spot nobody bullshits like Liang Shu
I'm especially good at prevarication...

Scene transitions to Han General Dong Zhou looking fondly at a painting of our protagonist

Liang Shu:
When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs
Every morning to help me get large
And now that I'm grown I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly the size of a barge!

Assorted Waifu Harem:
Ooh

Zhang Liao:
A slight exaggeration..

Liang Mi punches his arm

Zhu Fang:
Who has brains like Liang Shu
Entertains like Liang Shu
Who can make up these endless refrains like Liang Shu

Liang Shu:
I let Yu Zhong do all of my interrogating!

Zhu Fang and accompanying chorus:
Say it again
Oh what a guy
That Liang Shu!

Heishan Bandits Have a Dream (By ElleonXan)
*Tangled Song Parody*

So... you got this stuck in my head, and I for the life of me couldn't get it out. However, I was a bit annoyed that it was only a short portion of the song, and thus my sleep deprived (and possibly drunk) brain wouldn't rest until I at least got a majority of the song. So really, the following is your own fault.

The situation so far: Zhang Liao and Liang Mi were captured by bandits while inspecting a farm. They were taken back to the collective group of bandits, where they are informed that they are going to be executed in the morning. Liang Mi starts crying, saying that she never fulfilled her dream. She is overheard, and then...

*Music starts*

Boss Zuo:
I'm malicious, mean and ruthless,
and half my mouth is toothless,
And violence-wise, I've done everything twice.
But despite being past my prime,
and my laundry list of crime,
I've always yearned to build things out of ice.

Can't you see me at the Harbin Ice Fest'val,
Building an ice sculpture with my team,
Yes I'd rather be called a hassle,
for my way-too-big ice castles,
'Cause way down deep inside I've got a dream.

Bandit Chorus:
He's got a dream,
He's got a dream,

Boss Zuo:
See, I ain't a cruel and vicious as I seem,
Though I do like breaking heads,
You can rest safe in your beds,
'Cause like everybody else I've got a dream.

Bandit Chorus:
La la la la, la la la la,
la la la la laaaaaaa

Chu Yan:
I've stole all under my hands,
and I've tons of evil plans,
and let's not even mention all the murder.
But despite my evil ways,
and that my crime sprees run for days,
I really want to be a professional birder.

Can't you see me in the back woods with a spyglass,
Spotting falcons as they cross the stream,
Though I'm evil and need pity,
I love nature, not the city,
And way down deep inside I've got a dream.

Boss Zuo:
I've got a dream!

Bandit Chorus:
He's got a dream!

Chu Yan:
I've got a dream!

Bandit Chorus:
He's got a dream!

Boss Zuo & Chu Yan:
And by now I think you've prob'ly got the theme!

Chu Yan:
Though we're all really bad guys...

Boss Zuo:
And not easy on the eyes...

Boss Zuo & Chu Yan:
All of us have deep down got a dream!

Other Bandit:
Ku Jiu wants to quit and be a florist,
Sui Gu does feng shui design,
Bo Que's into mime,
Guo Daxian's rice cakes are sublime,
Huang Long weaves, Wu Lu sews,
Zheng Jiang does those puppet shows,
and Zhang Niujue collects ceramic Ming vases.

*The view pans off to the side, Statler and Waldorf look down on the musical number from a conveniently placed upper balcony*

Statler:
You think someone should tell them that Ming vases won't be a thing for over a thousand years?

Waldorf:
I just wish someone would tell them to stop singing.

*Statler and Waldorf burst out laughing, the view refocuses on the musical number.*

Boss Zuo:
What about you?

Zhang Liao:
Pardon me?

Chu Yan:
What's your dream?

Zhang Liao:
My apologies, I do not sing.

*The bandits all draw their blades. Zhang Liao pauses for just a moment longer, then starts to sing*

Zhang Liao:
I have dreams as well, it's true,
Though not like all of you,
They happen in a place far up the hills,
In a meadow overgrown,
Where I can be alone,
And train to reach the peak of martial skills.

Liang Mi:
I've got a dream!

Bandit Chorus:
She's got a dream!

Liang Mi:
I've got a dream!

Bandit Chorus:
She's got a dream!

Liang Mi:
I just want to help my family's fortunes teem!
And there is nothing I want other,
Than helping out my brother,
Like all you lovely folks I have a dream!

Bandit Chorus:
He's got a dream, (She's got a dream,)
They've got a dream, (We've got a dream,)
And our differences ain't really that extreme,
We're one big team,

Chu Yan:
Call us brutal, sick, sadistic...

Boss Zuo:
And grotesquely optimistic...

Boss Zuo & Chu Yan:
'Cause way down deep inside we've got a dream!

*Boss Zuo and Chu Yan turn around to find that in the short time since their verse in the musical number ended, Zhang Liao and Liang Mi have knocked out several of the bandits and escaped.*

Chu Yan:
Well, crap...

I've said this before, but: Budget! Liu Bei.

Give it a few years and we'll be singing about the qualities of a righteous man as Bing province burns around us. ( :( not at all salty that Liang Shu isn't evolving into a Cao Cao).
Well you know what they say.

You can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest. It's the honest ones you have to look out for.

You can never tell when they are about to do something unpredictable.

The Last Calm VIII
[] Thank him, but tell him you have already promised to marry another.

Had this offer been made to you even a few weeks ago, you may have seriously considered it, or at least talked it over with your family and advisers. As things stand, however, it has come down a terrible case of timing. How can you agree to this, and break the promise you made to Lu Lingqi only an hour ago? As you look to the kind eyes of the elderly Ge Lang, you feel a heavy heart, saddened that you are letting him down in such a way. You steel yourself, and are firmly convinced you have to be honest here. Spinning some lie or deception could be dangerous and cause you problems, especially as the Ge are allies. Deceit should be a knife thrust into an enemy, not stabbed into the back of a friend.

"It is with deep regret and apologies that I cannot agree to this most generous arrangement, Lord Ge." You say somewhat solemnly, bowing your head as you speak. The shape of a frown has already begun to form on his weathered face. "I mean no affront when I refuse, and bear no ill will or intent towards you, your granddaughter, nor the rest of your esteemed family. Unfortunately, agreeing to this would break a promise I made to another, and that is not something I can go back on easily. I have already vowed to marry another, so I cannot in good faith take Ge Maiyu as my wife."

The patriarch of the Ge seems surprised at what you have just said, and blinks twice as he processes the information. "My apologies, Sir Liang, but I was not aware of this. Pray forgive my ignorance, but had I known I would not have asked you."

"It is a...recent development." You say somewhat vaguely, but without actually lying. "We are of course still in the process of negotiating it. I am sure you aware how much time planning marriages takes."

He places his hand on the tip of his beard. "Quite. I can imagine that you and your clan are busy indeed with the talks and preparations." Ge Lang flicks his hand, a few white strands of facial hair flickering as he does so. "May I ask, Sir Liang, which lady you are betrothed to?"

You rub your eye for a moment, it is quite late and it has been a very long evening so far. For the sake of politeness, you try not to show your tiredness or fatigue. "Lady Lu Lingqi, the granddaughter of Inspector Ding Yuan."

"Oh. That was the young lady who spoke words of support for you earlier." He says, a look of recollection on his frowning face. "That certainly does explain things, I admit I was curious as to why one of the Inspector's kin was here in Xinshen. I hear from my granddaughter that you will be serving Lord Ding Yuan as a military officer once local order has been restored. This is a most advantageous match for you indeed, especially in regards to your career prospects." You hadn't even considered that, and you begin to wonder if Ge Lang thinks you have some ambitious plans in store for yourself. "Well, I do hope that you have a happy and auspicious marriage, and you have my blessings and well wishes."

You bow in thanks. "I am grateful for your most kind words, Lord Ge. I give thanks for your wisdom in understanding this matter, and truly do hope that I have not caused you or your family a slight."

"Of course, I shall require my granddaughter to return home with me tomorrow morning, lest any eavesdroppers or rumour mongers get any incorrect ideas or base thoughts." He says, bringing his sleeves together. "Alas, finding a suitable husband for her is proving rather more troublesome than I ever could have expected."

Ge Maiyu and her retinue had proved useful assets as of late, and this would disrupt a few of your plans for the near future. You are in no real position to refuse, however. "Ge Maiyu has been a valuable adviser indeed, and I give thanks for her fantastic assistance. You need not worry, a striking and wise lady such as herself should have no problem finding a worthy spouse in the future."

"We shall see." Ge Lang gives you the slightest of nods, before bringing his hands together in a respectful salute. "I am afraid that I must retire now, Liang Shu. The night grows long, and these old bones ache and creak. My congratulations once more on the splendid banquet. My family shall be returning home at dawn, it is quite a long journey back to my estate, especially in this foul and cold weather."

You give a smile, bowing slightly yourself. "I shall have some attendants escort you and your party to your rooms, and see to any needs you may have during the evening. I wish you a safe and swift trip home tomorrow, Lord Ge."

Ge Lang begins to walk back towards the other members of his clan. "Once more, you have my most sincere well wishes for your wedding, Sir Liang. I shall be sure to arrange for gifts for you and your bride. I do hope that I also have the opportunity to give my congratulations to Inspector Ding and his family, as well."

As you say your thanks and goodbyes to Ge Lang, you finally let out a built up sigh. If you had offended or upset the old patriarch, you were unable to discern so. He appeared more disappointed than anything else. Losing the services of Ge Maiyu was to be expected, but it does sting and you hope you have not squandered any future opportunities. You also realise that, despite agreeing with Lu Lingqi that you are not to rush your marriage, you will likely have to inform her family of your intentions sooner rather than later. Having Ding Yuan or Lu Bu discover this through some other means may prove...problematic.

"Garharhar!" The infectious, belly laugh of Zhu Fang fills your ears, and you turn to see him and Yu Zhong approach. "What're you doin', Shu, standin' out here in the middle of the hall, staring off into space? You drunk or something?"

Yu Zhong gives you a smirk. "Most of your guests have already retired for the evening, it appears. Are you tired yourself, perhaps?"

You shake your head, and chuckle. "Ah! Do not worry, I was just thinking of something."

Zhu Fang grins and slaps you on the back. "Well, why worry about thinking, when you can discuss it with good friends instead?" He says, "Come! Let's share a drink!"

You are still thinking about all that has happened as you two friends lead you away somewhere private.

==

Whilst sitting and sharing wine, you fully explain to each of them about your encounter with Jia Xu, and all he said regarding Sui Yuanjin and Leng Jun. Zhu Fang slams his fist on the table.

"That greedy craven! I should have known he was behind this! How dare he blame you for his crimes?" He grumbles loudly, before taking a swig of his drink. "I bet he murdered and robbed Leng Jun, and tried to pass the blame onto you due to his petty grudges!"

Yu Zhong shakes his head. "We were told by the prefect that Leng Jun's wealth and belongings were untouched. That has to be by intent, Sui Yuanjin must have been paid considerably for him to purposefully not rob the man as well. These are worrying developments."

"Yes, they are." You rub your temples. "Do we have any idea who would have masterminded this? Someone with enough wealth, and also someone who wanted Leng Jun dead.."

Zhu Fang scoffs. "Ask any of those nobles that came tonight. They despised the bastard. Can't say I disagree."

"Perhaps so, but why pin the blame at me?" You ask, "Whoever paid Sui Yuanjin either made him think he was ultimately being hired by me, or paid him enough that he would say my name when under duress and interrogation."

"....Hmm." Yu Zhong rubs his chin. He looks like he is about to say something, but stops.

"Do you think perhaps that General Dong Zhuo may be behind this, or have something to do with all of this? Jia Xu was very deliberate in telling me who his master is, and how it was his master who discovered this information in the first place."

Yu Zhong shakes his head at you. "No, I do not. I am of the personal belief that General Dong has nothing to do with this. If he did wish to blackmail you, then why would he allow you to discover this information so soon? It would be far more advantageous for him to reveal this advantage he has when you are in a far more vulnerable position. I cannot be certain, but I am of the belief that he is genuinely protecting you in this regard, and wants you to know that he is keeping you safe. If I am right about this, then your debt to the General grows ever deeper, and not repaying him when he comes calling would be most unwise."

"Then who the hell is behind this, then?" Zhu Fang asks quite briskly.

"I...do have a suspicion. A small niggling in the back of my mind... a plausible thought, yet a dark one." Yu Zhong says, quietly and cautiously. He seems genuinely disturbed and worried about something. "I dare not say who my suspect is, not yet. I cannot, not even to you, Liang Shu. I pray that I am mistaken about this, as if I am right..."

"Please tell, Yu Zhong. If you suspect I have an enemy, I need to know, my friend."

Yu Zhong doesn't turn to look at you. "I...I cannot. Not yet. I need to figure things out and get some hard evidence before I accuse anyone, before I even speak a name. I cannot just go on a hunch alone, Liang Shu. Should I reveal the name that is in my mind, I worry about what will happen if anyone is eavesdropping. I worry about how you will react, Liang Shu." He says, finally looking at you. "Please, give me time on this. Allow me to do my own research and investigating before I say another word on this matter. Like I said, I do hope that I am wrong. If I am correct, the implications may be severe indeed for us, and we will likely have to reconsider very carefully our plans going forwards."

Zhu Fang nods. "I get you, Zhong. I don't really understand any of this, but I get what your intent is. You're better at this kinda stuff than any of us. You should trust him on this, Shu. He wouldn't be so defensive if he didn't have a damn good reason! There's no use prying too hard here or tossin' out wild accusations, we need to really get to the bottom of this treachery and for that, you should put faith in the best man you have for the job!"

"That is...surprisingly level headed coming from you, Fang." Yu Zhong sounds genuinely impressed as he looks to him. "My thanks, friend."

How should you respond?

[] Trust in Yu Zhong to investigate, he must have a good reason for not saying more about his suspect
[] Trust in Yu Zhong to investigate, and suggest that Ge Maiyu may be able to assist him
[] Demand that Yu Zhong says what he is on his mind and to be honest about this
[] Dismiss this matter for now, you are not worried about it and it is not worth looking into
[] Write in another response

Should you tell your friends about the other events that occurred this evening?

[] Tell them fully about Lu Lingqi, and your conversation with Ge Lang
[] Tell them about your intent to marry Lu Lingqi, but they do not need to know about Ge Lang's offer
[] Keep your situation with Lu Lingqi private for now, but tell them about you refusing Ge Lang's offer
[] Do not tell them anything about either Lu Lingqi, or the Ge family offer
[] Write in another way

-Insist that Yu Zhong says what he is on his mind and to be honest about this. You won't overreact to his suspicions, and you don't want to be surprised later on.

I want to know what he suspects now. I don't like surprises, and we can help him in an investigation.

Also, I get a dark sense that it might have been Ge Maiyu behind this. Just a hunch...

Yeah that's weird. Have no idea who it is if he's afraid to tell us. Only answer I can think of is if it's some Shu thinks highly of. Need to think on this.

Okay if he is that reluctant about coming forward with the identity of whoever did this it is someone close to us. I have my doubts about it being the Ge family since up until now we have not done anything to slight them and have been very beneficial to them. Let's let him investigate this on his own.
