Time of the Gods: Into the Amber Age

Anyone got a tally so I can count up the people who have voted for my plan.

I'm gonna need to address them to make sure they don't mind my edits.

It's said here, and mentioned in the 'Hint'.
Oh; okay. I thought the "you become weaker and lose your lowest skill" meant we that we became weaker by losing our lowest skill, not that we became weaker (by dropping an Avatar level) in addition to losing our lowest skill. But you are right, and the vote option makes that clear.

Yeah, we should wait until we have some monster traits to give to the humans. Which means we need to do actions to give us monster traits.
I was figuring multiple infusions of gaerig heritage across the generations. A water affinity boy now, a fish girl later.

That said, its probably better symbolism not to cheat on saiga during the honeymoon year

edit: also at some point we should demand a shrineship. A mobile shrine we can project power from and can speed along to distant places because its always within our area of influence

All Ur-Children can ascend upon their death if they have earned legend during their natural lifetime equal to or exceeding the parent spirit's current spent legend.
"current" as of the child's death, or of their birth?

EDIT: Also, how much legend do we get from Ur-Monsters? And can they ascend?

Also, do we get legend back for Ur-children when they die of when they cross the starting legend threshold?

You do realize I'm gonna put octopus babies literally as soon as i get home, right?
Just got home myself, give me a minute to fully catch up to with the discussion. For now, priority Exploration to find octopus/squid, rest is negotiable and less important to me.
Mostly. Best to view the marked areas on the map as being roughly the edges of the respective villages, and it's honestly still somewhat close (should be twice as far apart, but I wanted to wait to keep bugging Siv until after I did Gaerig's halpful map). The gray area between them is an especially dangerous and difficult area of terrain, also, and is basically impassable except for expert survivalists.
*Headdesk*

Mah, It's been so long since you said you would make a HALPFUL map. So long I made one myself:p.

Should have told me that earlier, I'll would have gladly changed things. Any other discrepancies or additions you want me to add or correct?

[X] Ninjafish.

Whatever that plan is. I trust him to at least be aiming towards cool monster-people. I don't trust Veekie to be aiming towards cool monster people.

Elections are about trust as well as issues.

@veekie Is their a reason to not having a child with Saiga?
If you want to raise it with us having it be half-mortal would be problem since it can't breathe underwater. But if its a full spirit child than it should survive living with us especially since both parents have a Sea Aspect it can inherit.
Others already said it, but a spirit child at this point is liable to choke our own growth to death. At least an Ur-child would take 15+ years to ascend, and an Ur-Beast 8+ years.

Theres just no population to cover that many spirits.
Attrouska was definitely [Constellation Heart]. Someone to be extremely wary of, especially with that title (Edit: The Keeper of Secrets). [The Giver] we know nothing about. [The Imprisoned One], on the other hand... poor son-of-a-bitch. Potential leverage there, depending upon what his original traits were.

I am okay with this uphill battle. Bother about the walls, but what can you do, neh?
Good catch.
So the Crone is of Dead Stars and secrets, Stars, Mysticism, possibly Death.
The Giver is some kind of "Charity in Winter" concept, probably a Crafter or Trader if not a herd animal.

No idea about the Imprisoned One yet
Traits don't disappear from the buy chart, but they do get a much smaller piece of the pie by comparison (they go down to having roughly 40-30% of the numbers from 60+). If you let yourself pick up 5/4 traits, you will explode into a cloud of energy. When I said Harzivan would explode if the rules suddenly changed, I was speaking literally.
Okay, so some risks there. I assume you mean forced avaar dematerialization or something more nasty from just going over the cap?

Safe traits:
-Fear 2 Legend - No weight
-Avatar 4 Legend - No weight
-Influence 3 Legend - Positive weight(shrine cap)
-Shrine 2 Legend - Positive weight(trait cap)
-Skill 1 Legend
-Mischief 6 Legend
-Sea 5 Legend
-Ocean Affinity 8 Legend(assuming upgrade)

Unsafe traits:
-Animal Aspects 1-2 Legend
-Human Aspect 2 Legend
-Exploration 5 Legend
-Moon Affinities 7 Legend
-Stars Affinity 5 Legend
-Frost Affinity 5 Legend
-Rain/Waves Affinity 5 Legend
-Wind Affinity 5 Legend
-EA Water 3 Legend
-Capricious One 4 Legend

So, a safe outcome this turn requires:
-Lowering unspent Legend as much as possible. 12 Legend will maximize the chances of picking up a trait instead of an Attribute. If we can drive it down to 6, we reduce the risks of going Moon and Ocean, which we always have strong weighting towards.

-Avoiding actions which emphasize an animal or human aspect. Those are all very cheap, and thus the prime candidate for exploding us.

-Avoiding exploration/astrology/violent water actions. Not really practical if we want to get anything done at all though.

-Avoiding actions which generate high Vehemence. We can only buy the expensive traits if our Vehemence is that high or if we have an excess of Legend(we do)

I THINK if we manage to lower our Legend and avoid scary actions this turn we should be fine.

No plan Demands that mortals work to improve our Shrine . Sure, there isn't much they can do, but Shrine 1 -> Shrine 2 can't be that hard, now can it? /Wonders where External Shrine and External Avatar are hiding.
Done. Replaced two of the Saiga chat items with a shrine upgrade demand.
Note that Satiation must stay at 10 or above though after adding ambrosia. Drop below and we'd do whatever the hell.
Sad day tho, you only have one octopus to pick from at the depths you can hit (also why no giant squid); the Antarctic Octopus, a cute little hand-size octopus that only eats a type of creature called brittle stars (that sounds like it was pulled directly from Lovecraft, seriously; an octopus that eats stars?).
Cute.
Ur beasts costing avatar levels is kinda dumb and seems like railroading to keep monsters from being a practical thing,

Still worth it, it never said it stops us from gaining any more levels in avatar.
It indeed doesn't prevent us from gaining any more levels in avatar, but it DOES stop us from making either demihumans, regular monsters or Ur-Child.

But more relevantly, we won't have the Legend to pay for an Ur Child next turn. Fear Spirit making an Ur Child is basically incentivized to do so only on turns after they get a shitload of legend.

By contrast, Ur-beasts are more optimal on almost any other turn! In exchange for temporary loss of fertility and skill, you get plenty of Legend.

Really you'd have an easier case for regular monster.

@Powerofmind

Is there any reason we couldn't spend off ALL free Legend by making twins?
Obviously not as much Sustenance to go around for both of them, but it does drop our Legend to the point where we can ONLY buy animal aspects(and explode) or an Attribute...

Since animal aspects are low probability unless we specifically Guide Fish, Bless Fishing or have sex with the animal, we'd be home free to turn the ONLY possible options to be skills or attributes, based on Legend gained. Since our Shrine is so low...

TWIN OCTOPUS BABIES! EEEEEEE

[X] Plan Moongazer Baby

Rather wait and get more "Stuff" and make a proper Chimeric Ur-Beast then just one with a singular animal one.

Once again, does anyone know where Despising traits accidentally is described?
Shrine will still provide trait limit, income, defense bonus, and maximum shrine level (has effects not yet unlocked to you that are relevant to Shrine extensions). It will no longer provide ambrosia limit, or increase the number of Shrine extensions you can gain. Additionally, all penalty and growth cap components will be removed from attributes (excepting Avatar sustenance cost increases), now that they are unnecessary to cockblock geometric bullshit. Any purchases will take effect immediately, before any new rolls are applied. The new equations are not yet being pushed in until after your next income phase (it's unfair to change the income rules in the middle of a turn vote). If you're trait locked, and do not despise, accidentally or purposefully, one of your existing traits, you will encounter the Yahweh lite's penalty mechanic for being Yahweh lite if you roll a new trait.
There you go good sir.
