[] To travel as a group for the initial scouting. This would slow them down, but allow her to get a better feel for her team and a more comprehensive feel for the region before taking care of individual issues.

Just putting this here so I can come back and edit it later.

We should never split the party unless circumstances force us to or otherwise. Here, nothing is, so the party sticks together. Plus, we barely know this place or these people, so we should really get to know them and what they can do/tell us. Information is key here. Time to obtain it.

We're here to learn tactics and how to lead, adding onto that we're unfamiliar with the environment, the local problems, and what personal knowledge our subordinates have regarding the problems we might find.

but at the same time, the area she had been assigned was noted to be fairly dangerous as border regions went, with a heavy spirit presence.
I just noticed this but it seems as if the higher ups have noticed Ling Qi strange empathy with spirits and her ability to work with them. Dealing with spirits is right up Ling Qi's alley so I am excited what comes out of this.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Perhaps an ogre king descending from the high peaks to seeking to charm a faerie bride with his superlative musculature?"

Hmmm...

Much as I'm holding out for bookish turtle-y boy, moon senpai is making a strong argument for the hand of our precious moon blossom.

It'd be good to feel out the new crew at first. We can think about throwing them in the deep end of the pool after we know if they need floaties or not.

I'm going to push back. These people are scouts. They're used to working without third-realm army killers hovering over them. They don't need Ling Qi's babying. Ling Qi doesn't need their babying.

"Don't split the party" is good advice because the party is weaker together than apart. That doesn't really apply here. These scouts are little more than speed bumps in combats that threaten Ling Qi--unlike the Bai, she doesn't have the arts to turn them into a meaningful threat. The majority of their value is simply the ability to be where she is not.

Time is also very relevant. Better surveying means less chance of mistakes in assignments, but more time means more locations Ling Qi can handle personally, or that can be handled in groups. Surprises that would be a danger to the wrong member of the team are much less dangerous to Ling Qi or the team put together.

[X] To have her subordinates scout as a group while she split off to surveil the more notably dangerous regions on her own. Somewhat risky due to potential ecology changes, but balances speed and comprehensiveness.

This area is relatively dangerous. Acknowledge that with a little caution, then trust Ling Qi's subordinates to do their jobs.

these people are competent scouts we can assume. From that, we need to learn from their experience as best we can, as well as better knowledge of the capabilities, tactics and expectations of them. We have less experience with "average" cultivators than most nobles. We shouldn't make assumptions, we should learn what we can about the group and *then* choose to delegate and split. If our War was higher I assume the plans would be more detailed, but with a skill of F we're fairly blind in terms of what to expect and what to do.

Our Spirit Ken is p high though, we should be able to assist in non-combat interactions with spirits if we're all together. And if there is a spirit that is in control of a large swathe of this region we're likely to run into them early on. Day 1 should be spent all together, learning and understanding our options and goals as well as a general state of the area
