Judging by the way they're joining up, they seem to flow south.
Really? That kinda makes things weirder, at least for me, someone who isn't exactly well learned in the subject. Where are they flowing? Where do they begin?

They flow... off the map. The perspective I took when making it is that cartographers making a map of the Celestial Empire either don't know or don't care what things are like outside of it except for stuff like 'here there be nomads'. It's not really their business, and also probably hazardous to investigate personally. One thing though @Inferno Vulpix
I notice that the rivers in Emerald Seas don't flow directly to the ocean. Where exactly do they lead? And do they connect to the rivers in Thousand Lakes?
I can't claim to know much about the subject either, I'm just going off the fact that rivers don't generally split, they join together.Really? That kinda makes things weirder, at least for me, someone who isn't exactly well learned in the subject. Where are they flowing? Where do they begin?
Ah shit I just realised the prostitutes are prob shitting bricks. They just left for the sect in order to have a better life. And the first thing that happens? Snow apocalypse
Don't be silly, if Ling Qi went cultivation 24/7, she'd be a seething cauldron of greed, not rage. Ji Rong is an angry boy, but Ling Qi is a greedy girl.

So the rivers start in the Emerald Seas and go south out of the Empire, and where they end up is either unknown or irrelevant to a map of the Empire.
Yeah, but he's figuring out that shit from all appearances.Which probably isn't particularly helping Ji Rong actually.
Heaven is of imagination, foresight, and invention. Using it to just break faces would be rather limiting.
It doesn't have to be from mountains, as long as the river's still flowing downhill and aggregates enough rain to have a river-sized flow. The river beginnings in Emerald Seas that don't correspond to mountains could just be starting from land of a generally higher elevation than the southeast of the province.Where exactly do they start from? I'm given to understand rivers normally start from mountains and or springs, but from what I can tell, no such feature exists on the map where the rivers start.

IIRC Yrsillar mentioned that qi-based geography and physics based geography don't necessarily have to match at some point. It might very well be that assorted rivers don't start up in mountains and flow to a sea but rather start at a random upwelling of Water qi and end at a concentration of Lake qi or something else weird like that.Where exactly do they start from? Or some places where water runs uphill.
The timing is a bit short for those levels I think. This is week 13 equivalent, and at the time the only yellows were CRX/Meizhen/Liling/Xuan Shi, Kang Zihao.... and then the new ones of Huang Da, Han Jian, Xiulan, Ji Rong, Gan Guangli, Lu Feng (and maybe Ling Qi). Of those, only Kang Zihao was not early yellow as a non-ducal.-First Years(Weak) - Should still be Red. I'm not sure what they could do other than be the damsels in distress.
-First Years(Strong) - These should be around Mid-Yellow and they can make a difference. Some of these guys got their windfalls. Probably arts. Arts is funny enough, one of the 'cheapest' rewards for the Sect to give out which costs basically nothing to give and they got entire reams of on hand at all times.
-Older Students - "That must be Ling Qi again."
On a bit of an unrelated note, I think that people are underrating Speed as an attribute. Sure, it might not be very useful in combat, but it is very useful for running away. It's likely we wouldn't have escaped Sun Liling back in the first thread without our Speed being as high as it was. We'll definitely have to do more escaping in the future, especially when we leave the sect.
We don't need to be thinking about speed because we are already on track toward improving it fast.It seems like the way mechanics are going, speed is going to actually be the long distance running number, useful for scouting/small group military action, while reaction/perception or instant transmission/shunpo arts are for direct combat. In other words, we'll need some amount of speed once the barbarians invade, but probably don't need to do much more than toss spare points into it for now. Of course, if we neglect it too much due to thinking that we're going to be dealing with mostly arena fights, we'll run into issues if we get a long distance travel challenge. Additionally, for all we know, the Inter-sect competition will have aspects similar to the first Zhou trial, where it simulates a warzone and we had trouble keeping up with the rest of the Golden Fields due to our low speed.
We have decided to push back when Dex will be trained, but even then turn 5 it should be something like this:Speed: (Athletics D, Dexterity B) = C + Unqualified Bonuses: Step 15, PLR 5 = C20
Qualified Bonuses: +5 in low light/darkness (SCS)
So, we are going from C20 to B30-A.Speed: (Athletics C, Dexterity B) = C15 + Unqualified Bonuses: Step 25, PLR 20 = B30
Qualified Bonuses: +10 in low light/darkness (SCS)
Speed doesn't do anything in fights unless you mean for escaping the fight.Speed is still an important stat for any fight that has no limits on the arena space. So, basically, most fights with real enemies.
