Qiyi can consume dyes and silks to further her growth, too, right? getting the alchemist might actually help her advance faster, which might be very worth the cost.

I'll note that 2 GSS / month = 26 GSS / year, which is half of what we donated to the school. Like that is a lot of support for an apprentice who isn't even third realm.

Remember, we make a net monthly income of 55 green stones even after the school investment. Max spending for everything would only be ~10% of our surplus. And we are also sitting on a massive surplus of 765 green stones, which we should be spending on stuff instead of just sitting on. I do think it's a good idea to keep some liquid assets for emergencies or opportunities, but only 200-300 GS.

I honestly think we should be aiming to leave the wedding having invested at least half our income and half our bank. Money sitting around does nothing.

Something to remember, is that as yellow realm crafters, they still have a lot of flexibility and exploration in their Way. Meaning that if we provide them with stones and access to our rare, exotic materials, they can become masters specializing in the use of those materials. Just look at what's happened with Li Suyin and the impurity materials. Obviously these apprentices won't match up in cultivation talent, but I think investing early and investing hard here will pay dividends.

Several people have pointed out the benefits of Spirit Carpenter and Practical Potter, so allow me to try and sell Leng Shui on you. I think he would make a great friend for Qiyi. And I think Qiyi could use a friend.

Also what is the difference in purchasing power between 1 stone and 2 stones in these instance?
Well, I was running the numbers and I estimate that we could plausibly maintain a small household / village guard of ~12 reds and 4 yellows with maybe 12 GSS / year.

So the basic 1 GSS / month investment here is equivalent to the running costs of a small household guard :V

Reminder that we also need to spend money on drugs, and haven't even gotten to supporting Ling Nuan yet, and also don't have our own minions to support yet but hopefully we will in time.

I'm trying to advocate for lower drug costs since currently they're kind of nonsensically high imo but we don't actually have as much surplus as you might think. We only ran a surplus of 15 GSS last month with how much we were ripped off on drugs.

Don't care about the clay, there's no Zhengui connection there. Carpentry and Alchemy are something that both benefit from what future Zhengui grows.

The carpenter seems quite valuable to us, since her skills in carving can likely extend to the fish scrimshaw we've got access to.

Now for a typo roundup, but apparently I forgot to do one last update so it's a doozy.

"well matched" and "builds on" are redundant. Looks like an editing splice, probably. "well matched to" would fit, but there's other variants.

Our location has an abundance of wood. A spirit carpenter would do us good. Plus, pottery works well with our exotic mats. I want to give the practical potter 2 gs since she is using scraps. And the carpenter... 2 gs as incentive abs ri help her breakthrough.

The colour alchemist is the only thing I'm unsure of

Well! I did not expect us to have multiple options become available. Makes me wonder what would have happened if we had gone with the traders. Ah well. These options are fascinating.

Looking at them, Chen Huan seems like the most important for our settlement, but at the same time if they have failed to breakthrough to the next realm on multiple occasions, im not sure if their ever going to. That said if they DO succeed and keep advancing, they would be valuable.

Leng Shui might seem kinda frivolous with a focus on tinctures, dyes, and paints. But any kind of Alchemist would be nice to have. More importantly though, A talent for resins and sealants would pair well with the potter for preservation, and probably also go a long way towards helping our fishermen, and potentially add water proofing to the settlement. That said, im not sure how ambitious he is......

Lai Wen....Has abysmal self confidence!! Shes even mousier than Li Suyin was at first! On one hand she gives me 'will hide in her shell unless someone drags her and pulls her out' vibes which means she will probably not be very ambitious at first.....On the other hand, if she can produce what she did with naught but scraps, what would she do with proper materials and mysterious never before seen materials? Create a clay mech suit?

Eh, in the end though.....
I say we came to the Artisans district to get artisans. Were not going to pay creatives in exposure. Lets pay them properly and give them a chance to shine with strong initial investment!
