[X] 50 Green Stones per year
[X] 100 Green Stones per year

It would be nice if this opens the way to network with fellow like-minded donators. Might be a way to make unlikely inroads with other factions or strenghten our bond with friendly factions.

I could go either 50 or 100. I think I'll feel bummed if we miss an opportunity to get another cultivator or artisan but having a pretty direct line on making a widespread information and influence network is extremely useful if we're a diplomacy and intelligence advisor. I'm not saying another recruit couldn't have that level of impact but they'd need to slot in well with our needs. Perhaps a craftsperson that can generate a lot of wealth and prestige. Good stewards provide some peace of mind and possibly smooth the process of developing industries.

Add in the possibility of scholarships for the disadvantaged, a good line on promising graduates, and possibly a resource if we want to improve education in our own area. It would be nice to have a direct line for learning more about curriculum, educational philosophies and standards, and tutors for our household or instructors to push our mortal admin training to become amazing (and probably available with the 50 option too).

100 is too much I think. This lets us put our name in, but also leaves our options open for more fitting investments.

Go big or go home I say. No sense in half-assing a investment over theoretical future boons we're not sure will even show up or exist, when we can endorse this school's brand of education and spread it around the Emerald Seas.

I very much want schools like this to spread, and a major endorsement by Ling Qi is the first step to doing so.

Personally I feel like we don't really have the funds or the income for the 100 per year option. Cause as was previously stated, this is just the *first* meeting we are attending, and there will surely be other things to spend our money on.

Yeah, this is not an "investment" investment - it would not bring financial returns, and even any sort if returns in "more scholars" would not be that big probably.

This is buying the influence - throwing your name out there, probably getting aquianted with other donors, getting Ling clan associated with investing in schools (in capital). More or less demonstrating good taste and refinement to other nobles, and also showing that Ling family can afford to throw their money on something like this (on something that would not give short-term benefits).

They're going to be getting all the funds they can dream of, and I really doubt donating a small amount is going to be that influential. Sure it would probably make things a bit easier for filling admin spots, but there are so many other things in general to spend money on that that seems a bit much to go all in on.

All in all, I would rather not to go in at all. But if we do (and we very obviously are considering the votes), I would much prefer to keep it modest

I'd love to do more but I can't justify it when the return is long term soft power. Most all our income now is the Cai stipend, and we need to save some stones to invest in other things that will return stones later

I don't think Ling Qi makes enough income to spend 100 a year, and hopefully more opportunities will pop up so that she can diversify.

We do in fact, we make 52 greens a month due to cai stipend. So we'll make back the 100 in two months, less if we go back to investing in the fief and do adventures.

I mean, that means this is nearly 1/6 of our yearly income if we invest 100, which is to say 17%. That seems a bit high to me. 50 per year, at less than 9% is much more reasonable if we're gonna do any more of these.
