[X] She preferred the lower end innovations, which could be seen by far more people.(Focuses your part in Cai Renxiang's cultural appeals on the lower and mid nobility.)

Easy vote. First, it's often the lower end innovations, bent single-mindedly on making something slightly more accessible, that are the truly important ones that cause great change. Artisanal masterworks that a few dozen people can see have so much less value than the lesser work read by thousands. Second, having a solid foundation of lower nobility sounds so much more appealing, go for the roots instead of the beautiful treetop. Third, Qi just seems inclined to appreciate making do with less, given her origins.

As a former theater tech, less is always more.

[X] She did see the appeal in straining the boundaries of possibility, even if it was more exclusive by necessity. (Focuses your part in Cai Renxiangs cultural appeals on the mid and upper nobility.)

In a cultivator world, I think it's important to move the biggest pieces.

In addition to the 'common people' thematic beat, we also need a boost in our approval from the lower and mid nobility a lot more than the upper nobility, so this could be very useful if it provides that.

Artist and art historian, it's the stuff that gets seen by everyone that makes history.

But there was a prime opportunity when he went along with LQ and Hanyi to the ice summit. But he chose to hold Hanyi's hand instead.
I know! I was honestly disappointed. You would think Hanyi would have tried to angle for that, but I guess it makes more sense that Ling Qi and Bao Qian would want one hand free in case they needed to defend/attack.

It's prob more a case that lq isn't vibing with bq like that , if he grabbed her hand she prob wouldn't react that well.

In the case of MD lq has shown to be far more forward with him including flirting ,taking initiative and now even being the first to hold hands in a romantic capacity . It's really cute honestly , especially since others will have seen it and if there's no rumors spreading far and wide (this is the capital ) I would be shocked.

I believe you are underestimating the viles of our gremlin princess. By holding hands of both LQ and BQ, she is helping him channel dependable-family-man energy which is clearly superior to shameless-flirt energy of MD. This is evidence of her cunning mind and refined taste in men in my unbiased opinion.

Both.

Culturally, they don't like public displays of affection even if it's on a married straight couple, sex out of marriage is frowned upon, and same-sex relationships are supposed to be kept secret or very discreet. So openly displaying it and celebrating it like this would be scandalous in nearly any other province (I think the only ones cool with it are Ebon Rivers) but since Shenhua took over, people take their cues from here, and things are starting to change.

They are also averse to making their ruler seem weak, even if it was a passing moment, so they often embellish stories. In another province, the story would show the Duchess as unmatched and having an overwhelming victory rather than struggling to win.

However, Shenhua approves it being shown in the play because it is the truth of what happened.
I wouldn't be surprised if they start performing the play elsewhere in the province after the wedding.
Down with prudery!

A strong foundation is the basis for greatness. As has always been so since the very start of Ling Qi's journey as a cultivator. Heed the first things we were taught!
