So, it seems Xuan Shi has acquired an unusual penguin chicken. I love how much he's grown, countering Kongyou at every turn.

Finally it's out for the mortals! Access to the chicken definitely bumps Xuan Shi up in my husbando rankings. He actually has a really cool spirit companion! (Kongyou was a net negative to me.)

It would be hilarious if one of those worms tries to infect Xuan Shi but the chicken just eats it.

The fact that a newborn was able to penetrate that barrier so easily points to extreme offensive capabilities. Which, incidentally, pairs nicely with Xuan Shi's high defensive support capabilities. Imagine that chicken fully grown - an armor-piercing threat you can't ignore, protected by layers of total defense turtling. Fun!

Yep. It's implied that Xuan Shi is half seafolk, instead of a spirit-blooded human, so no Xuan Wu wanted to bond with him and his peers didn't like him. Xuan adults seem to like him, based on the Admirals' interaction with him in Forge.

Tbf Qi also has a Darkness/cold/ending spirit, she's just a little gremlin :V

Funny that Shi has a liminal spirit and a cold/darkness/ending one. Now he just needs a fire/wood one and he'll basically be a mirror of Qi :V

the classic kind of Home Spirit. The Spirit that stalks, strikes and devours those that trespass. The "Yao the Fisher" style of home-body

...Man, I saw the little chick, and I for real thought it was an aberrant baby phoenix, like how Ling Qi got an aberrant baby xuanwu lol. Fitting pairing! I love how much more centred and stable Xuan Shi is now. He's really grown into himself, and I admire the growing maturity and self-sufficiency!
