I see a lot of people saying that Power is better because Ji Rong is most attuned to it.
But it's precisely because of that this option gives him the lest new information to work with.
As we saw in the ducal meeting update, Ji Rong is already having his own revelations about Power.
"...Yeah. She's gotten pretty over the top, huh?"
Ling Qi stared at him.
"We ain't playing at the kiddy table anymore. She knows that, Even a dumbass like me knows that," Ji Rong said.
He understands that the cocky bravado, purposeful provocation, stubborn uncollaborativeness and conflict for the sake of conflict that Liling pulled out in the Outer Sect aren't how you should be doing things in the real world, in real projects with real consequences for real people.
That there is more to Power and leadership that punching people in the face harder.
So he doesn't understand why Sun Liling seems to have regressed to her persona of the start or Forge, with the negative traits being enhanced.
Of course, the problem here is that the influence of "bloody evolution" has blinded Liliing to other kinds of Power besides survival of the fittest.
Sun Liling had already realized her mistake of jumping into fights too soon, assuming that people would side with her by virtue of her being the strongest (and she
was the individually strongest for most of Forge) and that everyone wanted the same as her. Well, that and because she overestimated how far into "fuck the Bai" everyone else was, Renxiang in particular.
So that's an avenue that Ji Rong already has available to connect with Sun Liling. Power is a problem Ji Rong already knows Liling has and can tackle on his own.
What he has no idea about is the betrayal of Sun Shao, how much it must have hurt and changed Sun Liling, even without the forceful bloodline imposition.
That's the root of the problem, the first wound Sun Liling suffered.
Isolation, on the other hand, is just a direct consequence of that betrayal.
