Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
From where did you get this? The best description of Xia Ren I recall is "The rot of ages breaks with a well placed blow. ... Xia Ren struck many good blows against the Sadala in her reforging of Xia." She's actively creating new structures & cultures from scratch to replace those she destroyed.
Yep. The difference is that we loot the past for shinies while she wants it burned clean.

Its not a rare idea if you deal with the Hui and their poisoned legacies. Better to raze it all then a leftover weed

So since our next stop after this arc will probably be the fief, I've been trying to map out exactly where it was in relation to the other 2 options we had, the meeting point and the sect. I came to this conclusion, based on 14-1. Note that the rivers are entirely speculative, I'm not even sure whether there are 1 or 2 of them and whether the one near the bunker is the same passing through the valley and/or snowblossom. Also, I have no way of figuring out where the high plateau is. I would be happy to get WOG for those parts, if you've already decided on those things, @yrsillar

Edit: obviously, the map isn't to scale
Edit 2: spacegnom over on the discord (threads spoiler) made a much better map. I think some things are probably inexact, but its way better done

Ling Qi sees the "Solstice Night" as something that it's loable and beautiful, yet also tragic and mournful.
I'm not sure if native speakers will know the name of a better fitting music/poem genre but what about:

Ode to the Solstice Night

...does Ode to Joy even have lyrics?

Um, yeah.

Freude!
Freude!
Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
Wem der große Wurf gelungen,
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein;
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen,
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund!
Freude trinken alle Wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur.
Küsse gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben,
Und der Cherub steht vor Gott.
Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels prächt'gen Plan,
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.
Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.

"Requiem" is a bit overused in fiction, though.

That's because a requiem is edgy. It's a song or hymn for the dead, particularly in a requiem, a mass and sermon for the dead. Given the cultural impact of Christianity, specifically Roman Catholicism, in greater Europe and it's very good purging of culture, requiem is basically the singular word for this kind of thing.

So every Tom, Dick, and Harry that can will name their deadly noise making device/song/chant/gathering a requiem.

It's like the over use of death masks as a descriptor in the darker and grimmer fictions. It's edgy, but you also have a pretty spot on idea of what it is, even if you're innaccurate. Given that a death mask is a (wax) face in a deathly and gentle repose, and not a rictus grin of joyous bloodlust or a stoic stonefaced killer's scowl, most people even more grossly misuse the phrase.

But Death Mask does sound cooler if you're into that shit, just like Requiem does.

Obviously we should name our art SSSS meaning Special Super Samurai Squad or Special Signiature to Save a Soul!

Or Special Silent Solstice Sunset if you're feeling boring

:tongue:

Solstice Requiem is pretty good, but I still think it's a bit cliche.

"Ode" adds a component of exaltation, and it's a good juxtaposition with the death theme of the technique.
So I would rather go with
Ode to (the?) Solstice Night

Song of the Solstice Night... Not sure if I said something like that already.

Edit:

Year's End Aria---> Symphony of Winter's End
