Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Safe:
Renxiang
GG
LQ
Biyu + Qingge
Meizhen
Fefe (the question being whether she also stays at Sect, or immediately leaves to follow Meizhen)

Maybe:
Li Suyin (strong sect route, but will have more interesting rare things and free time away from being overworked by Sect. Likely to stay, but might leave. Especially if Qingling is going too. Even if she returns to the Sect afterwards, the opportunity is pretty juicy)
Su Ling (Sect is strong, but I'm sure we could pitch her on Renxiang's Justice. She has a heart for the commoner like nobody in the current circle has. She'd make it better)
Bao Qingling (following our group would pursue personal goal of Duchess' Attention and Bao clan interest in new trade)
Bao Qian (following our group would pursue personal goal of new prospects and Bao clan interest in new trade)
Wang Chao (Scion of relevant Border Count, might be regular visitor might drop by rarely)
Xuan Shi (by all accounts should be a definite yes, but because he is who he is he might just choose to stay home)

Not happening:
Ruan Shen and Bian Ya, who won't forget we saved his life.
Jiao and Xin
ThunderPupper gal and the concert in the sky
Alingge (well. Maybe. But I doubt it)
Guan Zhi
Ji Rong and Sun Liling
Hypothetical Imperial Contacts From Someplace Relevant
Happy Sect
Luo boy (I would assume, but he could probably get in.)

people that are already gone:
Broken Fields Group (Han Jian, Han Fang, Fan Who)
Ma Sisters
Xiulan (who might be able to show up where we are anyway)
Liao Zhu (in a coma and dying)

I duno. The only part of our social group tied inextricably to Sect is Music Club. Everything else has a shot of staying relevant, or a personal choice on the other person's part. Everybody else is getting picked up and yeeted to !notRussia with us, lol
There is no way we are getting Li Suyin to leave the sect. Even for a time. I wouldn't want to try either. She in the top 500. She deserves her spot and the support she'll get.

Suyin's already committed as a lifer, that doesn't mean we can't visit though and the Sect is hardly going to burn our bridges for not sticking it out forever when they already accepted that outcome.

Since Renxiang is the heir, I've always felt that establishing stronger connections internally is more important than foreign relations.

That, and I really don't want to give up on the sect.

Su Ling would flee like being chased by bees if offered a chance to get attached to a diplomatic mission to open trade talks with a foreign country with the province heir running the show and increasing noble attention

Girl still holding a grudge against herself for getting a noble title and getting any sort of attention from important people

Speaking of, we should put Hou Min and Nie Ai in a headlock and drag them along on our next adventure before they realize we're back and find a place to hide.

She could duck out by giving up the title, but she lacks a liege she could trust.

Okay lets go off this.

For ease of reference, here's the route split details from last time:

AN: Below I am going to list the exact details of the future route split to avoid any confusion. Please note we will not be voting for it yet the opportunity to do so will come when you meet with the Court to share your findings in the first arc of the next turn. Take the time until then to consider what you want from the story, since that is the primary thing at stake here.

Sect Tournament Route
-Access to all Sect facilities and income continues until turn 26.
-You remain under Sect command for the duration of all war arcs in that time.
-You will have access to otherwise inaccessible storylines involving the Sect and its Elders.
-You will have greater access to characters who remain in the Sect
-You will attend the Intersect Tournament and have all related opportunities to make connections with VIP's from the Empire and Emerald Seas. More opportunnities to do so in the future.
-Your relationship with Argent Peak Sect will increase.

Ice Diplomat Route
-Access to Sect Income and facilities will end at turn 18. Turns 20-26 will involve prospecting potential fief.

I'm fine losing these things. As we've made the decision not to be a sect lifer, we were never going to gain access to the truly profound resources of the sect. The resources of the Duchess can make up for it.

-You will operate under the command of Ducal forces during all war arcs.
-You will have access to otherwise inaccessible storylines involving the White Sky and their interaction with the border clans

I'm fine with these compared to their alternatives. Doesn't really matter to me.

-Access to otherwise unavailable cultivation insights and resources.

This is absolutely the most important thing. Cultivation novels have taught me that B E N E F I T S reign supreme. Sect and elders storylines are nice and all, but they can't compare to the increasingly profound stuff we'll need to keep making rapid breakthroughs, and again, we aren't a sect lifer so we aren't going to be a top priority for that.

-Characters at the Sect who are not brought on board with your operation will have reduced access.

To be honest, a lot of them have been fairly irrelevant anyways. There's a few like Meizhen we'll want to keep in touch with, but a number of them don't have much to offer us.

-You will not attend the Intersect Tournament, instead attending the next summit between the Emerald Seas and White Sky. Chances to make connections with Empire VIP will be fewer and more difficult in the future.

This is the point that most concern me about ice diplomacy. We still have a precarious standing with the greater nobility. Making it harder on ourselves to forge connections is rough. We can make up for that by making our sister begin cultivating. A big part of this problem is Ling Qi's clan is new and she doesn't have qualified subordinates of her own to delegate this kind of networking to. When we start scouting a fief we might consider recruiting some talented commoners to sponsor at the Sect ourselves.

-Your relationship with Argent Peak Sect will decrease

We've already hit our relationship with the sect by going straight to Shenhua. It kind of sucks to hit it again. Even if we were never going to be a Sect lifer, the Sect is still a significant faction and it would be nice to keep them on our side if possible.

But all that said, it seems like Ice diplomacy still offers the greatest advantages.

[X] Take a central role in diplomacy with the White Sky

[x] Remain in your current place and maintain your current goals.

I feel like gaining influence in emerald seas is better for Renxiang than haring off to negotiate with barbarians.
