Huh given spirits lack a human level ability to change, and thus should logically be influenced by previous spirits who've ascended... the fact that Hanyi explicitly lacks even even the smallest of influences when paired with spirits of Zeqing's nature despite them having an roughly Empire sized nation implies she might be a spirit who if she ascends would produce such an influence upon ascension. Still there is liable to be some significant cultural issues, but I'd expect there to be plenty of locals with an interest in less harsh Ice Lady lineage, and that is how Hanyi will become an idol with loads of fans.

Probably? But at the same time, it's designed to be 'a part of her', the second half of her 'whole'. Mentally, it's probably as unlikely for her to fall in love with it as it would be for most people to think 'Man, wouldn't it be so nice if i could fuck myself?'

Ling Qi could just go around her romance trauma by fucking her dress when he awakes to found her clan! It opens so many possibilities! The entire Ling clan could reproduce by finding ancient items that developed spirits and fucking them! It will even make a great breakthrough for the empire fucking everything. empire cultivators msnaged to fuck anything that move- the Ling clan will fuck things that don't even do that!
Maybe CRX can fuck her saber? I just want to create a whole group of cultivators who fuck/marry their ewuipment

Isn't Ling Qi's dress a girl though? Bai Meizhen's doesn't have a gender yet, but IIRC LQ dress is confirmed as female.
Was it outright retconned? I thought it was just set aside until an arbitrary point in time.

Cai stuff explicitly develops way faster than most object spirits, and our dress is explicitly developing even faster than normal as per our last check up, since we never take her off. We've only got a few more years to wait for our dress to be a person.
Edit- not advocating for lewding dress-chan, very against that. Our dress is going to be at least as much our kid as Zhengui is.

She probably means Golden Fields, Ebon Rivers, Thousand Lakes, Alabaster Sands, and Savage Seas. I don't think the Western Territories that the Sun inhabit are even considered a province yet, since it's even less domesticated than the Emerald Seas are, and I'd guess that Celestial Peaks are under the direct control of the Empress, so the "lord" of that province would be the Empress herself.

That's the SFW reading of that interlude. The other reading, and...I think the more accurate one, was that she said "I refuse to take the lesser form of a human for you", and he replied with "actually you are a very pretty snake so that's fine".

It doesn't inhibit her movement too much, but it would be obvious to those with deep understandings of the physiology of Ice Spirits like Hanyi.

The fact that it apparently looks like an extreme case of frostbite does make it seem like it's some interaction between her nature as an ice spirit, and her origin as the stillborn daughter of a human and spirit. In fact, she might look like a failure in the White Skies method of adoption, a newborn overwhelmed and killed by the power of her godmother...except she's alive, and walking around.
