I've been restating my arguments constantly

It's gotten pretty frustrating having to do so, in fact.

Moreover - while.the advice is appreciated - if youre just going to skim.the posts I'd prefer if you kept.the criticism.to yourself, since that implies to.me that you have no basis with which to do so
 
Lets not forget that after the battle, we likely hold all the cards. She would be surrounded by our fellow greens, a couple cyans and an elder. The Ice Lady cant actually scuccesfully demand a damaging favor in such an environent

Meanwhile in a hypothethical future meeting after they flee, maybe the ice lady brings her mom and dad and an entourage. We are unlikely to have as much support then from the sect too. At the very least, it wont be small army of greens, 2 cyans and an elder level of suppport. Sure we wouldnt have the "obligation" incurred, but we are not spirits bound by obligations, we are cultivators. They could more easily demand things like "Hand over Hanyi to us in exchange for an alliance" there. Or it could be a trap. Its certainly not as safe for us as right after the battle though.
 
So, I think the plan of the barbs is to use this meeting as a bait for their trap of volcano-explosion. Once the children of dragon are committed the barbs fly away and BOOM!

Seems like a diplomacy dice roll but is imo the more interesting option. Telling them to get away would work better if we could provide some sort of token for safe passage past the perimeter group and to later make meeting up easier but I don't think we have anything like that.

Edit: Alectai's write in, ambivalent on the wording but the reasoning provided is sound enough.

We won´t be taking her Prisoner, since that would be diplomatic suicide for no gain and we do not have the means for it currently anyway.
Secondly I would like to reiterate that Winterlady, who hails from the smallest faction, specifically asks LQ if she needs help. No Spirit I know would do that.
Winterlady also asking for Heritage is also specific and diplomatic leverage to be used in any discussion with her.
The Winterlady also begins this interruption with isolating LQ and Winterlady from the rest of the fight and then mentions Heritage and aid. NO one who wants to just see LQ fall would go to such length(That Wall of Ice can´t be cheap in qi), just to rob us in the next scene. That just straight up doesn´t make sense.


Also, we only have Zequing as a datapoint for behaviour of Ice spirits and anything Ling Qi sensed could always be distorted through her personal narrative lense. We do not know if the tradition of the Winterlady is more or less possesive than Zequing, but we do now, thanks to her actions right now in the quest, that the Winterlady herself is interested in talking. Ling Qi was hired by CRX for making friends in weird places.

I therefore conclude Winterlady is offering aid in compensation for knowledge of her heritage. If she is so interested in LQ personally, then she has a personaly interest in seeing LQ leave this battle alive and therefore should, at the very least, help in the defense of the stone.

I also don´t get all the people assuming she is here to do us harm. Harming LQ would be easier in cooperation with the 12 Star confeds. and their reinforcement.
What would her endgoal in harming LQ be? Remember, Winterlady used no small amount of Qi to facilitate Diplomancy, which is highly unusual on the battlefield.

I vote for these Options, since I think we should assume Innocence before declaring her and her entire faction enemies. She made the first step towards diplomancy and could potentially be another weird contact LQ seems to collect like cards in a rare cardcollection. Let´s show LQs diplo chops!

We've already observed friction between tribes. If she helps that'd cleave off one faction simply by perception.
And the Empire does both trade and raid nomad tribes, they aren't monolithic, the quickest way to assert at least enough neutrality to talk is smacking a common foe
