Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
It's kind of weird to think that the children of the Sun Wukong expy are the intrigue faction, but that's what it looks like. The MoI had been intended to counter balance them, but that isn't going to happen because they lack the strength after Jiao lost his way.
Its easy to forget that for all his famous deeds, Sun Wukong was a ridiculously good infiltrator.
He's a master shapeshifter, charming and patient when he wants to be.

Given Ling Qi's achievements against the Shishigui, I won't be surprised if they decide to take a stab at our family
Eh, I think the others which were with us are at least in part higher on their shitlist.
We've established previously that the Shishigui seem to prefer to just grand slam your whole area.
Multiple simultaneous strikes at every possible target.

Not sure if this was answered yet, but is it possible for spirits to learn arts and techniques from the sect's library? For example, could we teach Zhengui the thousand-ring fortress or any wood technique we find? Or is their progression locked to be a natural thing?

They can be inspired by any art/technique/skill their bonded companion knows, but they cultivate different to people.

I don't think they're the intrigue faction so much as the actual intrigue faction that was supposed to rival them in power never got the oomph to meaninfully challenge them.

Fairly close vote, all things considered.

Now, on Ling Qi. What [Name] do you think would fit best? Maybe we'd have a better idea after Darkness month.

[Starlit Winter's Song] given the expressions of her Qi (the frost, the Starlight in her hair, the music). Since cultivation is becoming a spirit, and to be a spirit is to change the world around you, looking at how Ling Qi changes the world around her is a good place to start.

doesnt fit her Domain though.

Maybe [Misty Moonlit Mansion]? Though this falls into a "Are you saying I look fat as a Mansion?!" joke. Also no music explicitly stated.

I like the Starlit part- it really nicely encompasses the darkness and moon aspect of things, and alliteration is good civilization- but music isn't what Ling Qi's domain is really about, it's just the medium she's best at conveying things with.

How about [Starlit Sojourn(er)]? I've been a big fan of the idea of Ling Qi's domain as a journey/effort to find a home rather than just the home itself. And I feel like a lot of the insights fit with the idea of Ling Qi's domain being a process/temporary state rather than a permanent one. We have insights like 'Even walking alone, footfalls echo beyond your hearing.', 'Though a path might be hard and lonely, it has worth if you can present something of beauty to those you care for at the end.', and 'There are endings and Endings, only the very last one is final. Just as winter ends in spring, small endings are new beginnings.' that all tie into the thought that Ling Qi's domain is really about the process of reaching home than it is the endpoint.

How about [Moonlit Pilgrim]?

As much as the current dogma is that spirits are things to be controlled, the fact remains that they have a religious dimension to them. Spirit/Journeying/Moon/Night is basically Ling Qi in a nutshell, especially as a pilgrimage is a journey that you return home from afterwards.

Pilgrim makes me think of the Puritan getup with the bonnet. Also the religious connotations seem completely and totally unrelated to Ling Qi and anything she's about.
How about Starlit Winter's Songstress?

[Young Wraith] has already been canonized xD
but then I'm particular to [Thoughts Beyond Immortals]

I've also been rereading a bit and now I can't shake the mental image that LQ's dress is gonna secretly destroy other inferior dresses LQ wears like some horrific slug.

Ling Qi is all about the nature of being the street rat with all the Loneliness, Fear, Want and Ambition that defines Darkness to her as well as fulfilling those concepts through Love, Safety and Strength which is what Music represents. I think [Something Night's Songstress] would fit the best. Cold/Winter is just an extension of Darkness and Moon through Grinning+Hidden and Dreaming are our Patrons because of these concepts rather than because we define ourselves as Moon specifically. The first adjective would give some color to the Name and could be Cold, Lonely, Moonlit, Misty or something completely different. But representing Night and Song in our Name would touch on every part of our Way from each of our Arts to the last Insight.
