There is no emotion... (A Jedi Order Quest)

Hey so, for what feels like pretty obvious reasons, I'm looking up information on the Republic military, but a lot of information is either missing or dumb (Why the hell would the Starfighter Corps not have any ranks or structure above Squadron) so I'm going to be doing some redefining shit. You guys want some brief posts on that when I do, or nah?
Only if it doesn't get in your way to do so. If it doesn't, I'm always interested in worldbuilding.

The Chancellor was engaging in some hyperbole when she called this a war-- the term "pest control" comes to mind.

:V

Oh, a question btw Voik - are the other handmaidens dead or did Brianna just beat the snot out of them? I honestly forget so far as Kotor 2 goes.

So far as assignments go, what I'm thinking is we put Brianna and Mira on attack mode, maybe with Juhani, though I'm not wholly sure where would be best. Do we know where Czerka's most important infrastructure is?

Atton and Visas are quite sleuthy, so they could do the investigating into their plan, again not sure about location.

And anyone else can work defence - I'm torn between the Core since senate decisions, or somewhere more vulnerable on the rim.

In terms of notable feats from what i recall (in terms of what can loosely be considered solid narrative feats not explicitly based on game mechanics) you have Brianna fighting and besting all the Handmaidens. Fairly impressive actually - Echani are no joke. Mira beat down a damn wookie armed with bare scraps and a handful of mines after getting caught in a trap by some squid guy. Atton has outright resisted Kreia's mind reading, fought and beat Sion (probably his biggest feat) and is also notable for being able to remain undetected from not only Jedi, but also Sith. He's adept at fucking with Force Users in general. Then you have Visas... I know she has cool stuff too, but most of her cool stuff is basic generic Miraluka badassery which is admittedly still badass.

Unfortunately certain companions just get more cutscene based screentime than others. I do recall the cut content displays your companions banding together to take on Traya though; that was awesome, and so each of them are suitably amazing in their own right. I'll try to think of more showings they display when I have a chance.

Edit: More feats for Atton funny enough. He also has Echani training. And he's actually pretty good at it according to Brianna. Also he can survive deadly wounds according to canon (this was a fun gameplay quirk as he had a tendency to pick himself up after death midfight and save my ass from 1 HP) and has basic foresight, having a unique variation that allows him to sense oncoming danger through. What amounts to a "hunch". Last of what i remember for Atton was beating down two Twi'lek assassins solo in a bar. However this is pretty overshadowed by the much more impressive Darth Sion fight.

Brianna did however manage to keep Atris at bay and fought her for a lengthy amount of time before the lady whipped out some force lightning on her. That kinda ended the fight, but Atris is also a Jedi Master whom had years worth of time studying Sith Holocrons that made her pretty damn exceptional.

After some thought, I think we need to keep the legislative body secure; while disassembling Czerka's main holdings in the mid-rim; and put an investigation into the outer rim since that's where Czerka has the most room to conspire freely.
[x] Plan: Layered Strategy
-[x] (The Core) Protect against Czerka Activity (Keep your people safe)
-[x] (The Mid-Rim) Damage Czerka Assets (Break their stuff, free their slaves, and hear the lamentations of their stock-holders)
-[x] (The Outer Rim) Investigate Czerka's Plan (This whole thing started because Czerka had some sort of aggressive plan, on their end at least. Figure out what it was)

I assume we'll vote on who goes where after this vote is done?

Nah, you're doing as you did those first two quarters.

Can we have a reminder who's available to assign then?
Like, the assignments are following what you voted on in this post:
[X] Plan Attending Duties
-[X] The Core (Needs 4 Vigilance):
Councilor Atton Rand (Combat 4, Wisdom 3, Skill 3, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 4), Padawan Kador. Total: Combat 5, Wisdom 4, Skill 4, Diplomacy 4, Vigilance 5.
-[X] The Mid-Rim (Needs 6 Vigilance, Combat Focused): Councilor Juhani (Combat 6, Wisdom 3, Skill 1, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 2), Councilor Visas Marr (Combat 5, Wisdom 3, Skill 3, Diplomacy 1, Vigilance 4), Councilor Brianna (Combat 6, Wisdom 4, Skill 1, Diplomacy 4, Vigilance 1). Total: Combat 17, Wisdom 10, Skill 5, Diplomacy 8, Vigilance 7.
-[X] The Outer Rim (Needs 2 Vigilance, Wisdom Focused): Councilor Bastila Shan (Combat 4, Wisdom 4, Skill 3, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 3), Councilor Mira (Combat 3, Wisdom 4, Skill 4, Diplomacy 3, Vigilance 4), Padawan Breda. Total: Combat 8, Wisdom 9, Skill 8, Diplomacy 7, Vigilance 8.
-[X] Send Grandmaster Bao Dur (Combat 6, Wisdom 3, Skill 4, Diplomacy 5 Vigilance 2) to meet with the Supreme Chancellor.
Except for Zez, your newest Padawan, who is traveling with Bao-Dur, his Master, in the absence of a further plan, but if you want you could stick an addendum assigning him somewhere else.

Hmm, not an ideal array of who's doing what, but ah well - perhaps when we next asign people we can get a smoother arrangement. It should do for my plan as it is in the meantime.

I think I'd like to see all three options in action before focusing on any particular aspect

Looks sensible and well-reasoned to me.

Given that our enclaves are in the Outer Rim, should we protect there and investigate somewhere else?

Oh, on an unrelated note, love the new profile pic @Voikirium. It looks like a Jedi or a Sith rather than some crusader. I miss the Supergirl profile picture, but this is a very fitting change for your quests, which are Star Wars related.

Actually, since Mid-Rim is supposed to be the most dangerous, and the Core safest, perhaps something like this?

[x] Plan: The Onion
-[x] (The Core) Investigate Czerka's Plan (This whole thing started because Czerka had some sort of aggressive plan, on their end at least. Figure out what it was)
-[x] (The Mid-Rim) Protect against Czerka Activity (Keep your people safe)

Investigating in the Core probably involves dealing more with people than facilities?
I think we'll be able to make more informed decisions after we see how this turn goes.

[x] Plan: The Onion
I like this a bit better, Czerka likely has a decent presence in the Core that just can't do anything overt, the Mid Rim is very vulnerable to retaliation and Czerka has a high presence in the Outer Rim that is messing with everyone.
