See the problem is though the Tribe is one of the great mysteries of Battletech and until we get a definitive answer to what happened to them there never going to be dropped also the whole secret Puppetmasters plot line alot of people suspect that document was false to just get Ghost Bear involved with the war.

Also peoples sense of justice will never let them drop the Tribe/Wolverines because of what happened to them That while I don't know about other people but I see them as something that could destroy the clans on a fundamental level.
Uh, buddy, I hate to break it to you, but the Clans are going to destroy the Tribe/Wolverines on a fundamental level. Because if you genocide some of them, you automatically get a Bloodname. Do you think something like petty morality can stand in the path of Clanners getting a chance to give themselves a real surname? The Clans don't need something to destroy them, they're pretty good at destroying each other already. They cut their eye-teeth eating each other when they genocided the Wolverines the first time, and by god, they'll genocide the Wolverines-and everyone who their blood-tests indicate is related to them-as many times as it takes! I'm not even gonna ask how you think the Wolverines can destroy the Clans, it'll be dumb.

Except no one said to use them like that he said maybe we run into them since our exploration is into the deep periphery where they would have gone if they decided to leave after the raid. You seem to only have a kneejerk reaction to them because you don't like them. Get over it. The chances of meeting them is slim and it was only brought up as something neat we are also decades away from anything to do with the WoB so that is irrelevant.
I won't get over it. I don't like the Wolverines because they're overplayed, and by now, every single mention of them in fanfic and quests and speculation just makes me go UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHH 'Not dis shittu again'. There were like, two or three different BSG/Clan Wolverine crossovers back in the day! Is this a kneejerk reaction-yes, it's also a deep-gut reaction. I've seen a lot of stories told with Clan Logan, and I don't like most of them. Keep them away from this story, because they will make me take my notifications out to live on a farm.

Pretty sure he is talking about revealing to the clans that their entire history and culture is built on a lie and that all the shit they blamed on clan wolverine was done by themselves or Nicholas himself.

Also since you seem to not be able to have a decent conversation about this and completely ignore what the original posts were about maybe you should not try and derail with your bias here. Cause like I said the chance of ever running into to them is slim to none and we only said it was a possibility because they should be somewhere in the deep periphery and on the opposite side of where the clan homeworlds are is a good bet for where they went.

Yeah the big thing about the Minnesota is their records depending on how much survived the years would destroy all what the clans know about their history like the fact that Snow Raven Khan Merrell didn't die during the Pentagon Civil War but was alive when Wolverine fled Clan Space and there's this piece that I have taken from Betrayal of Ideals Sarna page.

Trish is mystified by the scene around Franklin's grave. She surmises that his death was an execution, rather than a battle, but cannot puzzle out the scorched bone fragments (Karrige) or the grave marker for McEvedy without an actual grave. A Wolverine survivor comes out of the jungle and approaches her as she stands over Franklin's grave and wonders what to do. The woman is heavily scarred, and hobbled badly from her injuries. Trish hugs the survivor and finds renewed hope.

Now I might be crazy but that hints that Sarah McEvedy wasn't killed and had actually survived and reunited with Clan Wolverine.

And even then if they are one and the same and are in the "southern" direction from us that means we could get access to more advanced tech or at the very least more trade partners for more money. They don't need to be anything special to us because we have no idea what they could possibly be aside from another deep periphery power. I doubt we would find them since I think they would go pretty far from anyone to be safe but maybe we will. Doesn't really matter to us unless we find a way to get tech from them to help our own development.

The First Contract
The First Contract

"Incoming, incoming, incoming, incoming!"

With a deafening thwump and screams of the recently dead and wounded a small squad of BSC troopers where wiped out by enemy fire. The returning shots from the other squads drowned out the screams for medics as a rocket sped out across the courtyard striking the enemy vehicle that had fired the round that had destroyed the squad it's ammo going up in a brilliant flash.

It was the BSC's first contract recapture a recently discovered parts factory for the Magistracy of Canopus from pirates that had been squatting in it for years. The Mercs had been lucky that they managed to capture the Pirates Dropship so easily but now they where fighting a massive pitched battle for the factory itself. The current firefight happening was for the capture of the Factory's Central Office Building though it was rough going.

A BSC APC had just cut trough the concrete of one of the courtyards walls with it's front digging gear the BSC trooper popping up and mounting the machine gun opening up on the Pirates that had been dug in on an upper level as the Vehicle disgorged it's payload only to be cut short as a Pirate SRM streaked into the cargo bay making it vanish in a massive fireball. The BSC answer to this though was a upgunned tank rolling through the freshly made hole it's 25mm cannon barking up a storm into where the SRM had come from before the tank let loose with it's rocket launchers destroying more Pirates.

That's what Vicktor saw from high above as he and his squad rode on a Intruder the veteran couldn't wait to get onto the roof of the Main Building since then he would no longer be on the fragile Aircraft that the ISA had used as their main air transport for their troops. Already they had lost some of them to ground fire.

With a call from their pilot the Squad got ready as their transport made it's final approach. He racked the slide on his StA-6 and activated the dispenser feeling the jolt as the "juice" as it was called started to affect his mind. He jumped or well as best as he could off the intruder as soon as it had touched down. The sound of a door bursting open drew his attention to the stairwell that they had been planning on taking to get into the building.

"Wha th Ell isth tha thung!?" Yelled out the Pirate as they caught site of Vicktor. Ofcourse he was going to answer the women as he turned his helmets wide view eye pieces allowing him to see the Pirate and her companions where armed with some serious weapons. With a turn and a demented howl Vicktor let loose with his own weapon before they could use them on the intruders that where coming in.

"Well Vicktor it's good to hear from you I have already sent word that we have taken the facility's So we are getting a very big paycheck in these C-Bills and we also get much salvage from this to replace our losses and I have been digging around to see if I can scrounge up some local forces that want to join up with us." Spoke the calm voice of the man known as Blackjack.

To tell the truth Vicktor didn't care his suit had been shredded in the fighting though he was happy that his tanks hadn't ruptured by enemy fire though he was out of ammo. The young man who he had found out was the son of the Vektan Ambassador worked on the old computer that still worked even after years of neglect in what must have been the Plant directors office to see if they could recover any information on what the Plant produced and any tech that Blackjack could tinker around with to give them a better edge.

There we go part 2 of the BSC adventures this time their first taste of combat though only against pirates and not armed with anything heavier than a couple of lightly and poorly maintained tanks.

Also yes Vicktor was that type of trooper during the second extra solar war. Now I do have another Omake in mind but not about the BSC and I do need to go to sleep so later.

Love it and it makes sense that the BSC would take the first job from the Magistracy of Canopus against pirates. Since they are the ones least likely to have true heavy firepower to use against the BSC and the Canopians are also the one least likely to send us against the stronger IS powers.

Thanks I have plans for BSC a little bit of which I hinted at but for now I'm going to start working on my other Omake.

BREAKING: Who is Kamea Arano? - Filed: 07/02/3025 1:52 pm UHT

======================================

Lady Kamea Arano, the erstwhile ruler of the Aurigan Coalition, has suddenly resurfaced at the head of an army intent on retaking the Cormorant Throne. Once thought killed during the bloody coup lead against her by her uncle, Lady Arano has seemingly used the intervening years to forge an army out of exiled loyalists, Periphery mercenaries, and Aurigan refugees to use against the Directorate.

While the timeline of events is somewhat confusing due to the lack of solid information, news about the Restoration Army's assault on the planet of Weldry has already spread far and wide throughout the Periphery despite the Directorate's best efforts at suppression. Having emerged from the shadows with both initiatives and surprise on her side, Kamea Arano led her Restoration Army on a successful planetary assault that destroyed the House Gallas BattleMech battalion guarding the planet's few inhabited regions and the seizure of the planet's space sports. In addition to taking the planet and annihilating one of the Directorate's Mech battalions, the Restoration has also liberated, several thousand prisoners from a prison camp known locally as the 'icebox' --scenes from the camp dredging up unpleasant reminders of Helghan's history.

A sprawling complex located in one of the planet's most inhospitable regions, the Icebox was guarded by an infantry company, multiple stationary turrets, and a lance of mechs, and was used as a concentration camp for dissidents and hostages. Interestingly, as the main force of the Restoration was deployed against the planet's primary spaceport, the assault on the Icebox fell to a lance of mechs from the Markham's Marauders mercenary company; the medium lance utterly crushing the lightly armed defenders. Several hours after the camp fell to her forces, Lady Arano gave a speech denouncing the Directorate's crimes against the Aurigan people accompanied by both the commander of the Marauders and a victim of the camp; an elderly man who your analysts have yet to identify.

While any concrete information on Kamea and her "Arano Restoration" is currently hard to come by, your intelligence services have managed to pull together scraps which suggest that the Restoration has significant financial backing from an external source. Currently, it's assumed that said backing is coming from the Magistracy of Canopus due to their desire to keep regional trade flowing, but the Capellan Confederation and the Federated Suns are also possibilities. Given the fact that the Directorate is a close ally to the Taurian Concordat, this war could simply be a proxy war between Arano's supporter and the Concordat, and intervening could have unanticipated side effects on your relations with both. That said, having a large, militaristic, and authoritarian regime lying between the Helghan Republic and the rest of the Inner Sphere is hardly a desireable position, either, so it may be in the Republic's best interest to interfere.

Effect
  • The Arano Restoration and the Aurigan Directorate are at war!

Note: As with the Portland Civil War, choosing to intervene will take us to 1-month turns.

OOC: Now to see if I can find an editable map of the Aurigan Reach that makes it easy to track the war's progress. :V

QM inserts option 'Do Nothing'

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

*Ahem* Where were we? Ah yes, how do we ensure the restoration of order and prosperity in the Aurigan Reach?

The answer to that question is A: get in good enough graced that we're taken along for the Ride and B: Figure out a way to kick a Fortress Class Dropships shit in.

Why don't do both?

Join Kamea so when she wins we she ows as a favor and lets destroy the Dropship by bombarding it from orbit while it is on surface, it donsn't have anti orbital weapons.

I'd say we keep out unless the Taurians drop the Directorate. The Directorate is no danger to the Helghan Republic, especially if mauled by a civil war, while the Taurians have the power to annihilate us, and make up a large part of our trade income. An intervention will reveal our unique tech to the Sphere at large, and even if the Arano Restoration wins, they'll be a savaged realm unable to provide us with much support.

You have me there, tought I still want that Castle if possible.

that is way more then i was thinking.
how about some monetary support, some low level diplomatic feelers and maybe a few "inspectors" (read spy`s) too open some kind of information pipeline?

Do we actually need that Castle, though? Reverse Engineering has been going very slowly, mostly limited by a lack of access to production facilities. From what I know the Castle contains nothing but caches of Star League Mechs and Drone tanks. We could try to reverse engineer that, but when we haven't even figured out Primitive equipment what benefits will the cache give us? We'll probably be barely finished with Third Succession war era tech by the time the Helm Core is found and we get access to Star League era tech anyways.

While you are propably right about the reverse engenering the mechs and drones you must remember that canon states thet Nautilius is Research and Development facilty, as such its full of research and prototype production equipment, not to mention that it propably have main frame with data and blueprints for some of SLDF tech. And even not taking that in consideration there is the fact that the mechs inside are at least a battalion in numbers and inlude Atlases, Highlanders, Gryffins, Black Knights and more. Just aquiring them and giving them to our military for use will be a grate boon.

[X] Nothing

At this time? we have no reason to intervene, not if we suspect a proxy war, because we would be stepping into a dick measuring contest between two nations that we are involved in trade and diplomacy.

We might be able to act as a concerned/neutral third party when/if the concordiat steps in, but... that is then. and till then? we need to actually be neutral

Or selling them to our state of choice for some sweet C-Bills and for making friends.

I'd start of slow, by sending out feelers to all parties involved

[X] Diplomacy In Action
--[X] Contact the Taurian Embassy
----[X] Present ourselves as a force of de-escalation. The Reach is a usefull buffer state, and it'll be a much more useful bufferstate if it gets supported by a local power such as instead of a superpower who's currently pulling the strings.
----[x] An intervention from our side could thus both eliminate a volatile and inhumane regime and prevent the formation of an enemy proxy state
--[X] Contact the Magistocracy Embassy
----[X] Try to figure out what their deal is
--[X] Try to make contact with the Restoration
----[X] Try to figure out what their deal is

We might be able to act as a concerned/neutral third party when/if the concordiat steps in, but... that is then. and till then? we need to actually be neutral

If we do not intervene now, we'll skip along an entire year. Basically, at that point it'll be too late for us to intervene.
