I tried to put together a Marshall from it's TRO record using a MegaMekLab and the end result was over 600 tons overweight. Can someone re-check, please?
EDIT: Also, do we need to spend points on DHS variants of existing units, or can we assume that it'll happen automatically?
Could it be possible to make another army group next turn? That might also be a way to placate the people for a little bit while also building up for the war.

Can you hear that? It is the sound of... A politically acceptable casus belli. Bring in a squadron or several of warships, some airmobile troops, and we can simply end the Pact while their forces are in the field and their population discontent while putting a firm hand on the shoulder of the Khan.
Some cultural adjustments may need to be made over time, but unfortunately those aren't really the things that can be hurried.
In any case, with the majority of what popular support they had now gone due to economic woes and tales of the camps spread, we are perfectly capable of simply rolling in and removing the current rulers of the Pact. The Khanate... Eh, they seemingly haven't got up to any shenanigans, they can stay but be closely watched.
Hm. Might be worth declaring this an "illegal invasion" (you know, for the lulz) and evicting the new squatters. Should probably look into the OPM as well, see what they are like.
We already have military forces there. We have half an army permanently stationed there. That includes ship support as well.
And we have no reason, claim, or right to declare the invasion anything. Doing so will only hurt us and make us seem like we are trying to control the periphery worlds. Unless a world reaches out to us or we already had relations with it we can't interfere.

Human right violations and bringing an end to slavery. Post the barbaric practices on display on some image board and bring the hammer down on the worst offenders on Caliban. Open the world to public work developments without "annexing" the planet while making sure that everyone knows that such excesses are not tolerated.
And we've been on world for years now with a great deal of troops, clearly we are trying to control them regardless. With more important things for them to do it would be worth being able to draw down the immediate garrison anyway and leave watching the world to ensure compliance with our minimal demands of conduct to a squadron of warships and their onboard marines.

I am talking about the trinity league there is a reason I separated the paragraphs the way I did. Only the first part is about Caliban and that is a remainder that we have have our best troops wasting their time on that planet because people are crazy and didn't listen about just how huge our units are.
Since the heats sinks done, I'm guessing the mawlers can be updated now? Not a fan of what we did in caliban, we instigated what happened to the victims, we are to blame. Rather us find a local to lead the world instead of the foreign invader khan or the city states as a whole. Maybe work on the city states not using slavery?

So interesting thing I've had bouncing around my head "Overweight Ships" ships that for their classification, size and duty are disproportionally over weight.
My lore for them is they are generally frigates and destroyers with light-regular Cruiser weight but the size of a destroyer or frigate. They have armor comparable to a cruiser and enough guns to match a cruiser but not as heavy. They are mostly dedicated specialty ships like picket, Aero defense or just screening ships.

The Serpent is another success story of the Helghan Republic's Next Generation Arsenal program. Like the Daga, before it, the Serpent is meant to upgrade the Aero Corp with a craft that is more powerful and versatile than the old multi-role Strike Fighter.
Like the Daga, the Serpent was also created with input from Reuban Hale on the shortcomings of the Aero Corps. Unlike the Daga, though this was not just his input but also the input from the pilot that managed down him in the first place his wife. Along with the test pilot being one of their sons allowing for a trove of flight data.
Several prototypes were created over the years alongside the Daga development project. The first was created with primitive components and petrusite engines. Once standard level components were created those were used and the engine swapped to fusion drives with armor weapons and frames being adjusted.
The final production model chosen was the version with foldable wings, a Kader Industrieen Pulsar Large Laser in the nose. Along with a pair of Hephaestus Ltd Flare Small Lasers in the nose and the aft. As well as two Stahl Arms Blitz Medium Lasers in each wing. This weapons loadout is also supplemented with the ability to mount external missiles or bombs.
While work was being done on the Double Strength Heatsink and prototypes were used in the testing of the Serpent they simply were not ready for large-scale production or implementation so single heatsinks were installed. Sixteen such heatsinks were installed to allow for bracket firing or full striking with the Large and Medium lasers.
Like with the Daga there were two variants created one with the anti-grav ring allowing for reactionless drive use and a non-equipped version that has 4 tons of fuel to compensate. This gives the two versions a protection rating of 17 and 13 tons of armor respectively. Making them highly survivable and the anti-grav ring allowing the 250 rated engine to operate as if it was a 300 rated engine for a cruising speed of 4Gs.
Some prototypes of the Serpent would not be ready for the timeframe given for a production model as such they were put down as possible upgraded models. The most viable model was one with a 300 rated engine, 12 Double Heatsinks, and 14.5 tons of either standard or Ferro-Aluminum armor.
In the end, the Serpent came into the Helghan Aero Corps and has proven to be just the kind of fighter that was being looked for. The mix of speed, firepower, and carrying capacity makes it one of the most deadly multi-role fighters in the Inner Sphere, and in the hands of the highly trained Helghan Pilots, it remains a foe that no one wishes to face.
Love the chapter. Bit out of the blue but the planet with horrid snowstorms, the medieval one, those space mirrors that were destroyed by Steffany Amaris, could that technology be re-learned or remade? Throw some scientists at the mirrors and perhaps you could make the planet into the Eden it once was.
After figuring those Spess mirrors out, I would gather all the feudal lords together on the planet and throw them a pitch of unity and joining the Helghast. "If the Helgan Republic can stop the snowstorms and bring an eternal summer for your people, Will you join us?"

And what part of that thing is outdated didn't you get? All the designs are made with Heavy Metal because I can create custom weapons, armor, equipment, engines, and everything else in that one.
Also the reason they have do much ammo is because they are expected to be out and about for a very long time and to stay in fights for a long time as well. They need those deep magazines in order to maintain the defensive line. Since these dropships are replacing the warships for normal defenses of systems.
If Helgan LLaser has the massive range bonuses I remember it would make any ASF with it amazing for killing dropships. One might not be a lot of striking power but its enough for even a few fighters to tear holes in armor big enough to make a fast reentry super dangerous. It would force a massive CAP for hostile reentry due to shear volume of space that would need to be kept clear. Equipping militia with these fighters would make small merc or pirate landings almost impossible and army movements would need to dedicate abnormally large jump capacity to ASF deployment or accept that they are just going to lose a notable fraction of drop volume to downed dropships. House militaries can do that with the ability to earmark a dozen extra Lepord dropships full of ASF as extra protection but it would make an invasion a logistical nightmare.
Can somebody tell me what the Marshall is and a link to the sheet for it?
Also i think we should take a moment to take in our rather considerable edge in aerospace assets and consider leaning into it. For example maybe developing modular hangar stations for rapid deployment of strike craft garrisons to in need systems, allowing us to mass carriers for offensive or mobile defense operations. Or simply build more and more, and more bigger, carriers in addition to mass deployment/export to allied worlds/systems.

With the conclusion of the Augrian civil war, Helgan Republic High Command was forced to swallow a bitter pill: They were not ready for a real war. While the Helgan military dominated the battlefield, analysts quickly realized that this was due to facing merely a portion of what many considered a second if not third rate power and doing so with overwhelming numbers. This lead to the launch of a number of programs meant to both enhance the military and improve Heglan's security; one of which was the Next Generation Arsenal program.
The NGA program was made of three research Divisions: Battlemech, Aerospace, and Conventional warfare. While the Titan rendered the Battlemech effort the most famous, the Aerospace division was able to come up with its own success story in the Daga Space superiority fighter.
The Daga was developed by Helgan State Arms with the assistance of a veteran mercenary Pilot by the name of Reuban Hale. under contract with the Helgan empire to escort logistical convoys during the days leading up to the Terracide, Hale was caught up in the event and forced to throw in a with a rebel group during the Empire's failing effort to maintain power in the face of mass rebellion. In one of the final battles of the conflict, he was shot down by a Loyalist ace who had fixated on his bomber.
His public criticism of Helgan's fighter designs drew the interest of the NGA-Aerospace project leaders and saw him recruited out of retirement to assist with developing an Aerospace fighter capable of filling the gap found in Helgan's fighter fleet.
At its core, the Daga is built as a high mobility dogfighter able to maintain absolute control of engagement ranges against slower fighters while still having the armour and weapons to make attacking it suicide for anything faster than it. The comparatively long range offered by the Stahl Arms Pike-12 Large Lasers allows a flight of Daga fighters to pick apart enemy bomber formations with ease from beyond their escorts effective range unless they break off from their charges and attempt to force a dogfight... thereby playing right in a skilled pilot's hands.

The Marshall is a 50 meters long and 2,000 Tons beast of a ship. It was created by the Helghan Republic after the Aurigan Civil War and the lead up into the assault on the Capellan Confederation. After the Helghan Republic aquired the structural and armor technology to match the levels of the IS factions the creation of smaller Naval Vessels became possible. While nowhere near the combat ability of the FTL equipped and much larger warships of the Navy the Marshall class is much cheaper to produce. Copying the IS method of attaching dropships to Jumpships the Helghan Navy has assigned Marshalls to escort convoys and fleet task forces by attaching to the larger vessels. At only a tenth of the size of the main Helghan Cruisers, Arc Cruisers, Guided Missile Cruisers, Carriers and cargo/colony ships the Marshall is deployed in at least a pair per side per ship in a convoy or task force. As they lack any FTL drive like normal IS dropship they also form the SDF (System Defense Force) of any system under Helghan Republic control or protection. It is heavily armed and armored to survive engagements against any raiding force of pirates and is even enough to make the militaries of the IS and Periphery wary of attacking Helghan possessions. The main drive to create the Marshall and its smaller Cousin the Sheriff Class to spread out the protection details of the Navy without having to assign the more limited FTL ships. The advanced Anti-Grav Ring installed allows for higher output and performance than a comparable Inner Sphere Dropship with the same equipment but cannot stand up to larger dropships or overwhelming numbers of ASFs.

the Daga and the Serpent both carry LLs but the Double heatsink upgrade changes things
The Daga swaps the LL for a P-cannon or PPC for a 28 damage alpha strike that it can do every single turn. the Serpent upgrades to two LL and keeps its pre upgrade firing pattern.
Can somebody tell me what the Marshall is and a link to the sheet for it?

Or simply build more and more, and more bigger, carriers in addition to mass deployment/export to allied worlds/systems.
The art page has the new sheets updated. With all 3 lawbringer designs.
And we already are building carriers. The Damascus class is literally the most well equiped for fighter bays of any BT design except the Super carrier that the FWL developed later on and that thing was much bigger and far more expensive. We won't need to make any larger carriers for a long time if ever. The larger the ships become the less we can produce, support, and build quickly. And every station has ASF and every unit has attached native ASF support. Plus planetary bases for ASF are also a thing combined with the dropships squadrons that are protecting our systems also have ASF.
for more detail on the dropship squadrons me and Advent hashed out a plan for them that most everyone who's chimed in on it has been fine with (i would say everyone but i can't remember everyone's response atm)
Planetary defense squadrons are 6 vessel assault dropship formations composed of 3 constable light assault drop-ships, 2 Marshall class assault dropships and 1 Judge class ASF carrier dropship. this formation then gets a full load of ASFs though the mix is something me and advent have hashed out. My first instinct is to have a full squadron of serpents per PDS with a four ASF flight of specialist craft being either Dagas for interceptor duty or a heavy or assault weight fighter/bomber.
That be the standard squadron. Depending on the system would be what determines how many squadrons are deployed there. Plus these dropships are also attached to all our ships as extra escorts. And the Carrier is called the Sheriff not Judge. They were named after lawmen after all.
