  • [X] Plan: Black Armory.
-[X] The Great Library: The Inquisition has recently come across a vast archive of ancient knowledge. They obviously want it preserved and guarded as thoroughly as possible, but they do not wish to store it near important planets such as Terra just in case (you shudder at the memory of the utter disaster the Hereteks unleashed when they let out all of the horrors stored under the surface of Mars, you STILL haven't got all of the things they let out). Hence, you.
-[X] Traitor Legion Geneseed: If you wish, you could gain access to the gene-seed of the Traitor Legions. Each will have its benefits and costs, but all of them will have their gene-fathers concealed for practical reasons - little point creating a Chapter only for them to be wiped out by some overly paranoid fool. Write in a traitor legion. 10 Points for each time this is taken.
    --[X] Thousand Son
-[X] Potent Gene-Seed Charge: Some samples of a Legion's Gene-Seed are more likely to retain their stronger traits, and you have isolated such samples. 5 Points for each charge. Burn a charge to make the chapter roll for two traits from their parent legion. 2x.
-[X] Adaptive Gene-Seed: Some samples of Gene-seed are more capable of adapting to different conditions on different planets. 5 Points each charge. Burn a charge to roll an extra planetary trait.
-[X] Legendary Gene-Seed: The finest Gene-Seed ever recovered from a given Legion. 15 Points per charge, Burn a Charge to add a Legion's legendary traits to the roll list for that round.

    [X] Plan: Subtle as Lightning
    - [X] Codex Experiments - Goal: Create a Chapter with Alpha Legion Gene-Seed and place it in a homeworld with the (Ultramar) tag. Troll Guiliman.
    - [X] Lightning Pattern Power Armor: A very powerful piece of technology from Forge World Vhalkem, the Lightning Pattern is extremely powerful, though it can only be produced in enough numbers for deployment by a single Chapter . You will still need to handle smoothing things out between Vhalkem and the Forge World providing the rest of the Chapter's equipment, however - they don't get the free pass Murphius does. 10 Points.

    - [X] Extra Predators: The Chapter has access to more Predator Tanks, allowing them to engage in armored warfare with better facility. 5 Points.
[X] Plan: PLEASE, CAN I HAVE ORK EATING SPIDER HORSES NOW?🙏 (Adaptive)
-[X] Ork Hunters: As one may expect, the increased awareness of the Ork threat after the War of the Beast has led to quite a few new proposals crossing your desk recently.

-[X] Latch Boots: A superior counterpart to the regular mag-boots in Power Armour, these fascinating devices gives the Chapter's armor the ability to 'stick' itself onto any surface at will - letting the Astartes of the chapter fight on vertical surfaces, or even while upside down. 10 Points.

I still think that the best legion to use for the library job is the word bearers.

We haven't picked our gene seed yet - that's the next vote. Unlocking the thousand sons right now, no matter what we choose, is just good sense, imo.

Personally, I am actually somewhat amenable to the idea of Word-bearer Library keepers. The idea of having the knowledge spread around is neat, and putting down word bearers on the planet with the most bizarre beliefs around to see what happens is something I've wanted to see for a while now.

I'm not fully sold, as there are really really funny Thousand Sons planet choices, and - more importantly - we have no idea what Ancient knowledge does. We don't know what sort of knowledge it is, and we don't know if we can - or want - to spread it.

As mentioned before by other people, it could be anything - so, unless we get more info about the knowledge before we pick out our geneseed and planet out, we would be gambling (the type of Knowledge might even be a dice roll anyway). Talking about the best choice of geneseed before we know if we'll know anything is utterly futile.

I think the choice between word bearers and Thousand sons depends on the information stored in there. Like if there is chaos knowledge sealed in there then we probably don't want the word bearers because they might spread it. Granted its not set in stone that would happen and mainly comes down to rolls but maybe something to keep in mind.

Some ideas for planets.

[ ] Weeest 2: A jungle planet populated by earth descended tailed primates ,enhanced by the Ancients during the Dark Age of Technology. The local Forge World is dominated by your fellow Genetors, and considers the local primates to be gifts from the Machine God. Rumors persist of a 'king' primate that was able to fight multiple greater daemons during the heresy.

With Adaptive and Thousand Suns we could legit get Psyker Monks maybe? Mystical Martial Artists sounds protecting ancient knowledge sounds awesome.

[ ] Sightless: The rather on the nose name of this planet is due to the fact that a large portion of the planet's population is blind - thanks to the local wildlife, whom seem to consider human eyeballs a delicacy. It a rare individual on the planet of Sightless that keeps one eye late into their lives, let alone both. (Ultramar Region)

Irony, So much ancient knowledge but no eyes to read it. Truly a curse for the Sons Of Magnus...

I was also considering Sightless as a pure joke choice. (The symbology of the sons of Magnus getting their eyes ripped out all the time is also neat, now that I'm thinking about it)

My favorite choices if we end up choosing the thousand sons would be:

[ ] Skaltland: A large planet of lush green forests, the inhabitants are tough and belligerent folk - being extremely prone to excessive swearing, and picking fights at the drop of the hat. And this is without the horrid shrieking caused by the 'bagpipes' that are their most popular musical instrument. (Fenris Region).
or
[ ] Dugronk: A Feudal World located near Skaltland, and with a very similar culture overall, the land of Dugronk is mostly swamp interspersed with medieval castles. Of note, several remarkably intelligent but somewhat surly Ogryn tribes call this planet home. You wonder if you could take a look at them, you have been hoping to find a way to repair the genetic damage that leaves most Ogryn so simple minded... Bah, no time. (Fenris Region).

(I would explicitly choose Dugronk for the ogryns, but Skaltland is more overly Scottish, and Dugronk is also a swamp, which doesn't seem that good for storing knowledge, to be honest)

Placing the thousand sons right next to the space wolves is funny, and turning the Thousand Sons into crude, loud scotsmen while they are also, simultaneously scholars, seems like the correct amount of irony to me.

Also I would get to call it Plan: Thousand Scots

-[x] Secondary Gene-Seed (Word Bearers): The key component for creating Chimeric Gene-Seed. You're honestly surprised Guilliman approved of this one - then again, you did hear him grumbling about some idiots who were suggesting mixing Night Lord and World Eater templates, so maybe he just wanted to make the concept your problem before somebody did something completely moronic. 25 Points for one charge, choose 1 legion to be the donor for the secondary Gene-Seed. Burn 1 charge and traits from the donor chapter are added for a roll, or a separate charge of potent gene-seed can be spent for a separate roll on the donor legion's trait list as well as an acquisition of the secondary legions 'base' traits.

Is it? It says it has a similar culture. I just didn't get the geographic pun, I suppose. Well, Skaltland it is, then.
Yeah. Pretty sure. It's says similar culture because Scottish and English cultures influenced each other and are related, but swamps, castles fits better with general Medieval aesthetic than stereotypical Scottish. Also, Ogres don't fit anything but Fantasy theme.

Honestly I think if we went for diplomacy with the son of cerburs it would have changed to legendary just cause of there primarch but at the same time I feel like they could have been so much better at killing leader causing they were not well equipped for skrimshis because we have no anti detection for this chapter to play to its specialty of getting to the enemy with out them knowing
