Harrenhall is about the vision, not healing Viserys.

We were just very proactive in securing dornes fealty, isembard is already securing our support base. You claim working towards getting involved in governance? Study law for our future small council seat. The toll business is farcical and boring besides and not remotely a priority.

One of the problems with this how this is being played out is easily diverted to trying to impact any situation that comes to our attention voters are. Continually kicking Redfort down the line until we literally ran out of time to focus on the new options available at each location. the tolls are not an issue for Rhaenyra to be diverted from more long-term goals by.

Similarly, Corleos isn't someone Rhaenyra has much hope of Allying with without a throne. He wants what he though he was getting marrying Rhaenys, and that's not an option with Rhaenyra anymore. Laena is the smarter play here, especially since we asked her to stay.
 
Noticing Old Committments and Preparations picking up speed, I propose this small modification to try to address Visery's health too:

The romance stuff can probably wait, but this is our best chance to catch Daemon in a good mood, and getting his help is probably the best way to get through to Viserys (or deal with Mellos directly). I think that offers a lot more than talking to Gwayne.

A plan that finally makes good on several things we've set in motion and actually works on our long-term governing goals over chasing more shiny accomplishments just because they've been made available.

We aren't going to come to an agreement with Corlys. He's not a man for long-term arrangements or promises, and we have nothing immediate to offer him.

Since we're going by the show canon, quite a bit. Look at the Lord of the Tides episode where he returns with Rhaenyra, specifically the scene where they visit Viserys in his bed. That concern is real, and it might be the only thing he's still willing to listen to us about in this quest too. Part of why he's so mad at the Hightowers in show canon is that Viserys degraded so much under their stewardship. A lot of it is also his usual egoism and violence, etc, of course, but we see time again that his love is genuine. He wants the best for his brother, and that doesn't include withering away.

I'd rather we don't. It would probably be better to wait a bit until we're married, gained a seat at the small council, set up the RTC, etc.

Getting more defining achievements under our belt would give us more material to work with here, so I'd wait until we have more of these than "just" our knighthood

Studying law will not ever get us remotely the same result as being actively involved in setting up something like the toll authority. It will get us influence over Westerosi trade, recognition at court and an avenue to influence the rulers of important port cities. The only reason Corlys Valeryon is a name that anyone outside Driftmark recognizes is because of his trade voyages, which brought him influence and cold hard cash.

Saying "just study law" is lake saying we shouldn't have attended a tourney and just kept practicing sword-fighting. We'd be waiting on our knighthood until the day we died if we did that. If we actually want to be respected as a Master of Laws, we need the achievements and recognition to prove that we didn't get the post handed to us out of pure nepotism, and chances to do anything that can get us that are rare and precious.

Speaking with Gwayne is the part of your plan that I feel the most uncertain about here. Is it not possible to talk to Otto about the tolls as you had suggested earlier instead of any of the other suggested sub-options?

Talking with Otto about the Royal Tolls might get us some approval for our scheme, especially if we cut him in on it.

That said, talking things out with Gwayne about how to solidify the Hightower-Targ alliance is just as valid.

A lot of people seemed eager to talk with Gwayne for Alicent purposes and since the Dragontone trip is all but confirmed, I can see the value. Gwayne doesn't have to come with us, so he can talk for us with Otto while we are gone and we can hopefully capitalize on that once we are back.

As for the tolls, I hope we can get Otto on board with that as part of the actual toll action.

Because honestly, the sooner we can get into Orwyle's treatment, the better, not only for Viserys, but for Nyra's mental health...

I'll admit I'm a bit skeptical on Gwayne after how our last conversation with him went, but I do see the value in talking to him again now that we're betrothed to Qoren. Very well then.

Noticed it. Not interested in meeting with Corlys. We learned what he is all about back when we tried to come to an agreement with him forever ago. What are we supposed to be offering him? He won't accept promises of Betrothals. He doesn't trust promises in general after how his marriage played out. Is there even a plan or just romantic notions of winning him over?

Hey, my preferred plan is by far [] Plan: Late Nights & Conversations, but since most peopleis voting for [] Plan Old Commitments And Preparations, I would try to show the voters a plan that is almost the same as the leading one but in which we try to help with Viserys' health problems

I don't particularly care much about Corlys either...

The plan is setting up a healthy business relationship due to our aid with the toll business that will make him a lot of cash. If we want leverage, we have to make us some. We won't just randomly be handed it.
