The Dawi in Arda (Hiatus)

Jesus Christ that roll for the trade agreement nearly gave me a heart attack. We really should consolidate our king and queen rolls more often.

The Prospectors need a new Underhall, more rolls.

Not sure why we went with Sniffers.

Now despite a fraught journey it's time for the meeting of trade. Don't let me down millennia old maritime power.

Interesting, we're not the target at all. This could be an opportunity, though I doubt the Eotheod would be eager to assist the Dwarves.

I cannot believe Galadriel gave the Light of Earendil. What the fuck did our wife roll?

yeah, we need more shit, and for now on consolidate our stuff...and also time for stewardship? getting the Umgi to do simplier tasks would be for the better, maybe if they wish for simple (for dwali terms) craftsmen and stewardship would allow for reclamation of their kingdom of rohan. Of course, dwarves from the east are being a pain in the rear, though im wondering why sauron hasnt decided to try and smash us down as quickly as possible...because we are becoming a terribly hard target the more he lets us build up. Its kind of hilarious ya know?

edited: also we need to recompose the gift that galadrial has given us...Rune of Warding, Rune of Spellbreaking, Rune of Fate?

otherwise a runic gift would be a mighty thing indeed, because that vial is IMMENSELY useful...hell using it as a regent for a entirely new rune to break the hold of the enemy over the moutains and hopefully renew a land?

Also we need to find a way to stop the fucking necromancy stuff and such, would save allot of lives in the future. Maybe one day we can even kill the Dumi below within Durin's Realm, as well as cull the urki in the moutains. but were going to need field artillery for that, as well as some other crazy shit to build up too.

This is the first bit of true Magic not in a person which we have access to. Was there any reaction, negative or otherwise, when it was brought under the aegis of the Master Rune of Balance @Warkeymon ?

We have diamonds and the Light.

You know, Earendil's helm was made of adamant (diamonds) and after Elwing delivered it the Silmaril was set in it…

Anyone else think our dice rolls have tended towards below average?

@Warkeymon
What of the Urki in Framsburg, did any notable host leave it's occupied walls?

A host roughly equal as to the one that came from any of the occupied towns but not larger.

Man, Galadriel's comments moved me to look up Lorien's recent history, and wow. The last few decades of the second millennia TA were pretty shit. Arnor's remnants reduced to nothing, Khazad-Dum taken by shadow and flame, a lot of the Galadhrim including their king headed south to leave to Valinor in response, Minas Ithil taken and despoiled into a state whose evil was apart from Sauron's will…

Unlucky dice with the eotheod training, the trade mission, and the placating iron ploughing, and the near misses on building. Just means we need to come back strong next turn, ain't the end of the world.

Thank you for the chapter, it was once again marvelous.

Because she was (a mutual observer) of our vision and was interested in why she cant see our folk and whether what we see will actually come to pass

Noldor? Given the location of Dol Guldur, I would think it more likely that it's the Galadhrim of Lothlorien fighting alongside the Mirkwood's elves.

Kudos to you for saying it was Lorien and Galadriel in our last dream, my bad.

I wonder how limited Galadriel's powers with Nenya are that three of the Nine and their hosts could threaten the Golden Wood…

@Warkeymon

A quick question about the last battle we had with the Urki.

Some of our Dawi paid the ultimate price, yet no Grudge has been declared against the Urki of Framsburg. They still exist, we haven't put them to the sword like the Grobi of Kazad Urbaz.

Poor dice throws overall.

Getting a little disturbed the Eotheod can't be bothered to form their own army to reclaim their own lands on their own imitative. Hopefully that will change as things get closer to the tenth year.

If talking about the Eotheod in the hold we're the ones who tell them what to do, we haven't given them the chance to start training. We will want to take the Long Riders action for at least one die.

Wonder what it says we dreamed of the Golden Wood and not the beginning siege of of the Dwarves of the Grey Mountains…

Gotta say really been incentivized by the personal rolls the last turns to throw King and Queen at the same problem together.

I don't think rolls matter as much for interlude difficulty stuff, unless its a crit fail/succeed. It's not like there is a DC to pass there.
We'll see now won't we? Fingers crossed!

I believe the main logic behind it was to provide the wood for our engineers and to manage forestry techniques to ensure a constant supply with the side bonus of providing access to wooden goods. @Skitzyfrenic was actually the main advocate for it IIRC.

We can also make things for our less stone-inclined Eotheod/Elven friends, like bows and furniture and ornaments and buildings. The elven farmers were specifically noted to dislike underground dwellings, and wood is far easier to use, especially for above-ground Umgi dwellings atop earthen hills.
