I am very sorry, but TPPEGHCLUNPC just does not compare to TWPRVGCPRGBEALTAEHPPATSOCIOA.

-1 Guang Point. :(

Hey, they're inflating their name by using part of Guanghou's full name! :p

If we don't try then we are going to be a isolated island with no friends and those don't tend to live long.

Yeah, stabilizing the 2nd world / converting more of the 3rd world is not an optional feature. We need to do the former to prevent western adventurism, and we need to do developmentalism in the later case in order to actually prosper in the long term.

Ithought we had a goal to make a neutral ally. (and we arent big enough/prosperous enough to stop the chinese collapse)

I believe we've sent diplomatic envoys to (checks notes) Afghanistan. It's important to realize that not all communist powers are directly aligned with the USSR. Cuba for instance was on track to become the head of the Non Aligned Movement before they backed the Soviets over Afghanistan in the OTL.

CyberEnby has started talking to me about bullpup guns, and we (by that I mean me, and me alone) somehow ended up with this below:

Yes, that is a solid block of caseless ammunition intended for the LMG11.

Edit; Here's the full thing:

Beautiful.

Here is my question, how do you stop the blocks from getting jammed because of all the wells trying to push at once?

I believe that the rounds at the top prevent the rounds below from coming up, so it would empty the rearmost well first, then the second rearmost, etc.
edit: Look at how they're numbered.

And to be fair to HK, these rounds were hella insensitive so they don't cook off from residual heat, so they're pretty safe to store this way.

[X] Plan: The Worker's Plan for Revitalizing the Veins of the Glorious Democratic People's Republic of Guangchou Both Economic And Literal Through All-Encompassing Healthcare and Popular Production, And The Stabilization Of Communism In Our Allies

Yeah, we have to at least make sure that China maintains enough critical infrastructure that it can bounce back in a reasonable timeframe.
[X] Plan: The Worker's Plan for Revitalizing the Veins of the Glorious Democratic People's Republic of Guangchou Both Economic And Literal Through All-Encompassing Healthcare and Popular Production, And The Stabilization Of Communism In Our Allies
-[X] Intend To Achieve:
--[X] Stabilization of the communist sphere through economic, scientific, and military cooperation
-[X] Goals:
--[X] Repair and restore our healthcare system to make it befitting the Light of All Humanities.
--[X] Vastly expand the civilian economy.
--[X] Continue to advance the cyberization of the economy to reduce dangerous work.
-[X] Focus: Development of our healthcare.
-[X] Concrete Promises:
--[X] Complete Healthcare Reform, Found Department of Public Health, and Found Nutritional & Pharmaceutical Standards Agency
--[X] Improve Healthcare to Lacking.
--[X] Construct 10 different consumer goods factories.
-[X] Threats:
--[X] The claws of the Iron Tigers will lash out at anyone that threatens the stability of the Comecon. Regardless of if the threat comes from within or without, Guangchou will be right alongside our Comrades to defend the freedom of the Worker.

Could I convince you to add transportation or cyberdization as another focus besides healthcare?
We did so last plan, and having the +1 to those would help since we're likely to do booth dragon rail stuff and supercomputers within the first 4 turns.

Perhaps the square cartridges would fare differently, but I distinctly recall most of the LMG concepts that used a row of magazines or clips that fed in the same way that I've seen on Forgoton Weapons were plagued with mechanical issues.

Seconding this.

Admittedly I'm nervous about this plan. I feel it'll be very easy for us to overpromise and underperform with regards to stabilizing the Communist sphere.

I feel instead that we should be aggressively focusing on ourselves then heavily reinvesting our gains in that toward humanitarian efforts with regards to the civil war. It paints us relatively rose colored (even outside of the Communist sphere, hopefully, and it's to our benefit as a small nation to make it more of a black mark to attack us) and has a lower chance of backfiring hard. The main concern with this kind of plan of course is that long term it opens us up to more danger from western forces because we haven't invested as heavily into the health of our "umbrella", especially since this 5YP is so heavily focused on catching up our healthcare over military progress, etc.

It seems likely to me however that investing in an umbrella shredding itself is a waste in the first place.

EDIT: Y'know what, I changed my mind. Fuck that noise. We stand together or we don't stand at all. Still seconding CyberEnby on the addition of transportation or cyberization, but:

If nobody objects that has voted already, I can do this. I think a +1 to cyberization is what I would go for, maybe it can apply to helping the USSR implement their own automated central planning and stabilize their economy?

I too have these fears, but my self justification is that without putting this as a goal, then we won't try as hard as we can. If we simply let the second world slide into history then we will be alone in a world hostile our existence. I've seen rumblings in the thread that if we can help the USSR implement automated planning using computers we might be able to stabilize them? We can send support and Iron Tigers to a faction in the Chinese civil war we would prefer, we cant really do anything big but we can play a part in attempting to help the two big powers of our bloc not become historical stories on the horrors of communism or something. Idk. It gave me a good reason to extend the name to a ridiculous length :V

I think they did, from the Systems we gave them. It just when they did install them to help fix there issues, they realized. Oh shit, We put enough materials to make 50 tanks into this, and only got 20. what is happening. (USSR Purge again, this time on actual corrupt peps) and while they are fixing that, they cant rally do that much else.

No complaints here - the cyber-stuff we have is probably our greatest strength, all things considered, so making it better is a good idea.

We should invade the North Pole because the way Claus so clearly favours the children of the wealthy indicates that he's a capitalist agent and an enemy of the people.

[X] Plan: The People's Plan to Ensure Good Health and Comfortable Living by Unshackling the Nation's Productive Capacity

Yeah, it's not guaranteed that the USSR won't still collapse, but from what I can tell the conditions on the ground there are unlikely to lead to a second civil war ala China. We have to walk the tightrope between making sure the USSR doesn't collapse and lose us our nuclear umbrella, and understanding that the USSR is not our friend in the geopolitical sense - and we need to move fast while they're down to establish our own power block in the commiesphere.
There's a narrow window of opportunity here IMO that we need to take advantage of if we don't want to be relegated to the status of secondary power. Certainly an aggressive diplomatic campaign will also help against CIA intervention in the Chinese civil war, since it would open up dozens of fronts in their shadow war.
Certainly their jobs in Russia are going to get harder now that they won't be able to steal a fighter jet off the rail network, take it apart to see how it works, put it back together, and stick it back onto the train without the Soviets realizing what happened.

So I've been thinking recently, in the future(like during A Future Looks Back), what is the reputation of our scientists and engineers among the wider world? I hope it's something good

This is our opportunity to get the bomb while everybody is distracted.

[X] Plan: The Historical Injustices Stalling The Heathcare Institutions Newly Generated Will In Time Heal, Public Libraries And New Naval Aquaculture Made Easy, Safety Initiatives Shall Save Individual Lives This Year
-[X] Goals
--[X] Repair the healthcare system.
--[X] Expand the civilian economy.
--[X] Foster closer international ties with allies.
--[X] Construct and test a 1st gen nuclear bomb (secret)
-[X] Focus: Healthcare & Transportation Infrastructure
-[X] Promises
--[X] Light Industry --> Adequate
--[X] Agriculture --> Good
--[X] Healthcare --> -2 (Lacking)
--[X] Build 10 Consumer Goods Factories
--[X] Continue Work on the National Rail Network

Basically enby's plan with less heavy industry, a new bomb and a jank name.

I would like a more managable plan after the last one nearly (and sort of did) fail.

I will sooner support cyberization than dragon rail. If we bring people into our cities from the outlying areas, there won't be as much need for dragon rail; as we continue to be a haven for others, we're going to keep building up living places.

The big benefits of Dragon Rail aren't from intercity personnel transport, but from intra-city passenger trolleys and inter-city freight. Both are real nice for pumping up our productivity per capita which is going to become real important very soon if we want to do developmentalism abroad.
I do want to keep working on housing tho, with a 5% growth rate that I think we're at, we will very much need it.

edit: We started with 25 million people in 1976, and in the span of 5 years went to... 3530mil. (There was a solid stretch of 3 years where we were at 7% growth rate before it dropped 'down' to 5%)
